  1. the magic is getting them. i bought the only 6 packs i could find back in february. havent used them yet but they are supposed to be really good. still sold out everywhere i look.
  2. i remember throwing a deep little n when i was a teenageroff the bank on points for prespawn fish. absolutely killed it that day. that was 30 some years ago and i still remember it.
  3. man i remember when the slugo came out. that thing was incredible. the fish nor i had ever seen anything like it. it was unreal. you threw that thing on a grass flat or around laydowns and fish would just appear out of nowhere and eat it. the senko well i mean what can you even say about that. the tube, (gitzit it was then) was pretty awsome too.
  4. exactly. i take off from work on days when its gray and rainy on purpose. that when they bite best. get a good rain suit and go fishing.now i dont fish in an absolute down pour, but off and on showers or a slow steady rain. oh yeah its on.
  5. i dont blame you. hes one of my favorites. learned alot from him on you tube etc.
  6. jesus i should have took feider.
  7. i took yelas too. 64% just too high for me. i also took a flyer on cox in bucket a . hes great in shallow water and on sight fish. im banking on some big fish being on beds. i wanted to pick fieder since hes my guy. not sure why i didnt, lol
  8. amen same for largemouth for me. i hate showing up and seeing fish on beds. if i do i will usually head to another part of the lake where i think they may be done most of my smallmouth fishing is in rivers. summer is no doubt better in summer for numbers. simply because of the water level stability. having said that if the river is stable for the prespawn my biggest fish were certainly caught in the spring.
  9. lots of places. docks sparse grass , laydowns . anywhere you would throw a heavier one. if the water is fairly shallow and the winds are light i rarely use over 3/16 unless im trying to get down in the weeds.
  10. most flipping hooks are very heavy wire.you need that because your using heavy line and a heavy rod. you dont wanna straighten the hook.also when you are putting all that pressure on a fish to pull him out of cover you dont want to straighten the hook. you could use a heavy wire flipping hook for fishing t rig in deep water but it wouldnt be the best choice. the heavy gauge is gonna be more difficult to penetrate on a long cast.also in my opinion if you use a straight shank heavy hook for flipping you should snell knot it.
  11. for crankbaits i like the norman speed clip. kind of a unique design. i really like them so far.
  12. that used lowe might be a good option. the thing with the trackers is they arent bad boats structurally but as mentioned they usually have bae minimum as far as horse power, trolling motor electronics etc. thats how they keep the price down.i really like the xpress boats. if i was in the market the x21 would be my next boat.
  13. those same colors can still work. if you wanna try more colors geared toward clear water watermelon red is a good one.also some of the more translucent shad type colors. smoke purple flake works well for me also.
  14. pointer 78 and 100. jackal rerange.
  15. 72 or 75 heavy. unless your in very thick grass or really heavy wood they should work fine. i use both.
  16. idk ive pretty much stopped ordering from tackle warehouse. i place an order and it takes 2 weeks before it even ships out. i order from a different place now thats about 30 miles from home. order comes in 2 days.they dont have everything tackle warehouse does but they have most things and i can actually use it in the season i bought it for.
  17. i have one i bought for a rod i dont use much. its 3 years old and has been fine. no issues casts good.like i said i dont use it a tremendous amount but sos far so good.
  18. i suck at deep water summertime fishing. i keep working on it and have a little success now and then , but im not good.
  19. keep it simple if on a budget. the pit boss in a lower action trailer usually better in colder water. the chigger craw has more action and usually better in warmer water. start with those in black and green pumpkin. expand later as finances allow.
  20. bass pro 100 mph, cabelas guide wear, aftco hydronaut, .there are alot of good ones. the thing with raingear is when you buy a quality set your gonna hate to pay the price. but if you buy a good set it will keep you dry and last many years.
  21. i must be looking for different stuff than some of you. ive had a humminbird 10 inch di gen 4 ordered for a month. cant find berkley dredgers in 20.5 in any good colors. norman dd22 no go.berkley flat worm nada.
  22. inventory is poor. even on the internet. cant get my hands on a new depthfinder. deep diving cranks even some plastics. when i se something i use alot i buy it even when i dont need it
  23. i fish alot of grass lakes so when that grass really starts to mature and get thick i get out the 10 inch worms on heavy lead. usually about july
  24. IDK. my boat is nothing fancy and i took a butt whipping on the water today, 5 hours and no bites. but just passing it in the garage every morning on the way to work brings a smile to my face . so for me not having one isnt an option.
  25. i like both formats. i tend to focus more on BASS simply because thats what i grew up with but the MLF format is interesting too. and lets face it there are some hammers fishing over there.
