  1. I wish I had a lake closer to us that was known for their smallies. That was a mean fighting fish. It truly felt like you were setting the hook into a brick wall!
  2. My first time smalljaw fishing and it was a blast. These were my best two but my fishing buddy caught some bruisers. The file was too large so I will add his catch in the next line Here is two of his with another pic coming
  3. Wow!!!! I don't have an angler in the top 40. I'm going to quit researching and from now on, I'm just picking favorites.
  4. Yea! I was wondering that too................lol
  5. I have tried Jigs with Crawfish trailers for many years now with no luck until..........................Sunday. I finally caught my first bass on a jig/trailer combo. By no means was it a monster but it sure made me smile. Strike King Rattling Jig with Strike King Ragin Craw in Black/blue. I might start putting more of these in my tackle box. I tried everything in my tackle box and this was my only bite on a tough day
  6. Im currently at 60.7 %. This is my first year of doing the fantasy fishing so I'm green
  7. Its definitely not a good start for him for 2017 but I'm hoping that he can break that slump with a good showing at Toledo Bend
  8. ALTON JONES SR CASEY ASHLEY BOBBY LANE CLIFF CROCHET ALTON JONES JR I went with some native Texas boys with the father/son duo. I had to mix it up a little. The first tournament, I didn't do to good....lol
  9. While fishing (kayak or boat)...............no but recreational kayaking or boating........yes. When I'm fishing, I love the sounds of nature around me. Similar to hunting, I like to pay attention to my environment when I'm fishing.
  10. Thanks Felix, I may have just found a new favorite song.....
  11. I use the Berkley® Fusion19™ EWG Hooks size 3/0 on 4 and 5 inch Senkos and same thing in a 2/0 for the 3" Senkos. This helped me increase my catch ratio
  12. Most water temps are still in the high 40's on the Northeast side of the sate
  13. I haven't had any luck with mine. Its not because of the bait though. I learned over the winter layoff that I may have been presenting it wrong. I was trying to use it more like a spinnerbait and not fishing it deep enough and too fast. I'm going to give it another chance this year.
  14. I have Ish and Skeet also besides that my others are doing well with Bobby Lane, Tharp and Chapman
  15. wow!!!!! Ott Defoe 31# 3 oz.......that's a heckuva first day
  16. A: Randall Tharp B: Bobby Lane C: Ish Monroe D: Brent Chapman E: Skeet Reese
  17. 1) My grandfather (not famous but the one that taught me how to fish) 2) Shaw Grigsby on Okeechobee Lake. (he has way too much fun) 3) Michelle Jalaba (if I wasn't catching anything at least the scenery would be beautiful)
  18. Just like last Sunday, if I cant catch fish on these, its just another good day paddling my kayak or relaxing boat ride....lol
  19. I like to use the Keitech Swing Impact 4" on a 3/8 oz underspin to give the swimbait a little flash.
  20. I really enjoyed this thread. I actually just purchased a few packages of the Kieltech Fat Impact baits with the idea of using them on a 3/8 oz underspin to use as a swimbait. After reading this post, I realized that if this plan don't work for me, I now have spinnerbait and swim jig trailers. Any other ideas on how to utilize these baits? p.s: I also use the search function and bring up older threads when I can. Just like this thread, I might have missed this information if I would have started a new one.
  21. Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky. I fish mostly Yatesville, Greenbo, Smokey Valley and Cave Run. We also plan trips to Dale Hollow every year and wanting to visit Cedar Creek, Cumberland and others in Central Kentucky.
  22. This is about the average size bass at Smokey Valley Lake. This is the first lake I visit when the winter blues is over. Its very easy to kayak and this fish was caught just two weeks ago in February.
  23. Greenbo Lake is about two hours east of Lexington. Also a small lake and easy to kayak. Tough fishing though, Its a very clear deep lake with a lot of hydrilla and a bunch of laydowns in one arm of the lake and shallow grassy flats in the other arm. The second picture is my personal best from this lake and the first picture is last years sampling done by the Kentucky Dept. of Wildlife. Yes, I was in a Bass Tracker on this day but I kayak fish quite a bit when my fishing partner has other things to do.....lol
  24. I live just over two hours away in Catlettsburg, Ky and plan to be visiting this lake soon.
