  1. was the Slonezp letter part of the original post, or included in the package? I think that's the best part, personally.
  2. Scuba Steve! d**n you! I'm with Wayfarer, gotta wait until after the holidays.
  3. I like the look and idea behind peg board storage, but no way am I putting on display my extras.
  4. Rage Tail Craw Watermelon Red $3.50.
  5. still don't see anything for TW 25-days sale. If you google it, there is a page that says it runs through 1/8, which would mean one more week before it starts.
  6. Do these acquisitions usually result in any adjustments to pricing of current inventories?
  7. My kids took me fishing and that's how I got into it. But now that dad's into it, I want to go for several hours and they peak about 1-2 hours in (if they're not catching). How long are you able to keep your kids out with you, bank fishing?
  8. I'm not trying to make a stance or single anyone out. It was an honest question. Most articles I've read here, usually end with the "direction" to catch and release. I release fish because I'd probably sleep in the garage if I brought any home to even try and clean. Plus, I'd be the only one eating anything anyway. Catch it for fun, eat it for food, kill it because its some kind of detriment to the lake? I dunno, just seeing if there was any logic behind it. Otherwise, personally, I don't see the point. Especially given other remarks on other topics relating to "it's only a fish."
  9. What's the purpose of this? The high and mighty bass fishermen always practice the holy tradition of CPR - unless it's a perch. Then you catch it, kill it, and throw it away.
  10. There was an Australian a while back that used to do this. Don't think he was after duck though; went by the name of Dundee
  11. what's the consensus on the purist? I've been trying to hunt down reviews, seems like they weren't highly regarded 10 or so years ago, but five years ago they replaced the President XT, but now I see the P-XT on Pflueger's site, but not the Purist. is this better than the standard President reel?
  12. is this Zoom's version of the Rage Tail? It looks like it has the lips on the claws. How do they compare?
  13. bought my first one last night, leopard frog. hope to get a chance to throw it this weekend.
  14. I haven't found this in one exact spot, but it's all over the articles on bassresource. I read, and continue to read, and keep my own notes. What size weights are suggested for different techniques. Most popular brand/name of lures based on type. Colors or action based on weather, clouds, wind. And now I'm prioritizing learning the techniques based on those that are suggested as viable options most of the time.
  15. "best to make an inexperienced fisherman successful and building there confidence" My daughter grew in love with fishing by catching and winning bass tournaments on her own. I didn't teach her anything other than putting a worm and bobber on for her. Problem is, she only catches the "easy" fish at the one pond and is starting to get frustrated that it isn't always as easy as it typically has been for her. While she's young, I'm sure it applies to most beginners - numbers of fish to keep them excited. For me, I'm spending my time reading the pinned threads and articles. Next on my to do list is the library of videos. Not everyone is the type to put the time in to do their "own" research, but it's free information.
  16. One tactical backpack housing one 4x3600 tackle bag plus soft binder. Remainder of the backpack stores non-fishing necessities. I could conceivably put 4x3700 and 2-3x3600 boxes in the main compartment if I ever wanted to.
  17. Romans 12:19 + New York Football Giants
  18. used a Zoom super salty tube this weekend, site frog fishing on top of the weeds apparently. Pull him up on top of the bridge rail and just let him hang out. jumps a couple of times and I pull him back up. last time, he opens his mouth and jumps back in the pond. hook never moved from the way I had it rigged, never hooked him. didn't quite have the blowup and excitement I was expecting to see from topwater frog.
  19. I carry a Gerber MP600, but that's not my fishing tool. I have Leatherman, SOG, Victorinox, Gerber and they all belong in different places, bags, kits. The Gerber was chosen as my backup tool in my fishing bag for the one handed access should something happen to my fishing pliers. Otherwise, it's a repair tool. Plus, it's easier to replace ($) should it fall in the drink compared to my LM Charge or other expensive MT. I think from a reach perspective, you're much better off with dedicated fishing pliers anyway. Screwdrivers, saws, can openers aren't critical to land or unhook a fish. File might be the only exception that could be added to a set of pliers with a cutter.
  20. I've been here for a while, mainly cruising the articles and searching the many different questions that have been popping in my head. Just getting into the sport/hobby moreso this year in an effort to spend more time with my little one. I've carried a zebco 33 on a 6' pole for the longest time. Picked up a Citica 200 recently for half price and will probably pair with a Veritas here shortly. Have pulled in 2 smallmouth so far this year on it though. I think the plan is to learn how to cast with jigs and worms over the first season and see where I end up come fall. Probably mostly shore fishing, with the occasional boat/canoe rentals.
