  1. ...or into the wind
  2. Doing a lot better than the last 2 tourneys, currently showing 4 in top 50. It would be nice if Casey Ashley decided to wet his line today though.
  3. The Lazer Sharp is a step up from the standard Eagle Claw, no? I would think the 3x has meaning to a better standard than cheapest off the shelf as well.
  4. TW 25% off does appear to include all available colors of Rage Craws. $4.12 a pack
  5. don't over think it? for us newbies, ignorance is bliss.

I hope so, or I'm not sure what this is.
  7. I'm a level younger in the Cub Scouts, but what I noticed during our fishing derbies, was that for the most part, the boys were covered. No one threw anything other than worms, bread, hot dogs, etc. No lures. What we did need, was additional hands to help land/unhook/bait, and additional rigs for the brothers/sisters that also wanted to participate. I'd check and make sure whatever unit you're donating to would make good use out of it. Once a year trip? Several throughout the warm seasons? Chances are there are several units in your area that have different goals in mind.
  8. I'm ready to fish? Then I put all my gear down and start tying on hooks and weights and bobbers and worms for the little ones.
  9. Good thing I purchased the Sharky II somewhere before Christmas when they had their Amazon deals going. At the time of my purchase, I could have gotten a President along with the Sharky for what the OPs looking to spend. So can't complain too much.
  10. we don't have to "here we go again." he actually specifies what he's looking for in the original post.
  11. there are two 30s for sale in the Flea Market section - FYI
  12. Don't know what to offer for being on a boat other than to bring paddles. However, you can get in just as much trouble getting lost hiking through a spot to a new fishing hole. Doesn't matter where I'm going, or what I'm doing, I've got a few essentials packed that can take up a lot less room than you might think. Make a list and start carrying one for each category, and a backup/alternate as you see fit. Consider the 10 C's plus some... Confidence and conditioning top the list. Know what to do, how to do it, and be prepared physically to accomplish it. Then pack up something to cover consumption, cutting, combustion, cover, container, cordage, candle, cotton, compass, cargo tape, canvas needle, communication, and care (first aid). Include small bills and coins in case you do get somewhere, as well as spare keys. Add a small work kit or multi tool and bring a hard copy of important contacts. Those are my priority items for work, travel, play and I add to it depending on the activity.
  13. That was a lot more fun than I expected. Refreshed throughout the work days on Thursday on Friday. Checked once or twice over the weekend. Good first timer results on my end.
  14. here's hoping they call this one soon. All 5 appear to be making the cut right now according to Basstrakk updates.
  15. Ike better have some McNuggets stashed somewhere on his boat. Drawing a blank today as well.
  16. Says you! Takahiro's leading the tournament right now, so at least for the time being, I'm getting some enjoyment out of this.
  17. Maybe I missed it, but after the month is over, do the special colors remain on your order pages?
  18. learning knots, in general, is easier to do with a larger line. you can see it and handle it a whole lot easier. My scouts don't learn on anything smaller than paracord, and always different colors for each line. when you can tie it under the shower head with the lights off, you know how to tie it.
  19. as opposed to any NFL fan from Boston prior to the turn of the century?
  20. Had not heard this one before, but that seems to paint a good picture. I went back yesterday and read the entire 20 page thread on jigging.
  21. Oldest - nothing outdoors. Next daughter - likes fishing provided she's producing, and definitely prefers if it's one on one with me (without the boys) Oldest son - slowly getting into it, likes being able to site panfish. lowest patience of them all doesn't help, but likes being outside and has eyeballed spinning reels. Youngest - loves his spiderman spincast, won't give it up. and always ask to look at my fishing stuff. dead of winter he's wanting to go out. but enjoys playing with the tackle and learning about what each piece does and why a fish might like to eat it. he's also the one known to run around catching butterflies at the ponds. All three of the younger ones liked when I was trying the LTB and MTB boxes, as we would all divvy it up. Maybe I sign up for a $15 box again so they can continue to get gear - even though all they ever want to use is nightcrawlers.
  22. when do these articles start popping up? I've read here, or in last year's thread, about the pundit's picks. I assume that's straight on the fantasy site, but haven't seen anything there just yet.
  23. I've gone bowling a whole lot more in my lifetime than fishing at the moment, but fished a whole lot more this past year than I bowled. I'm generally good enough to beat most of the people I'm bowling with and probably average around 130 or so. Got close to 200 once or twice, but generally stay pretty consistent with the occasional high and low game. Doesn't make me a good bowler, except by those that aren't as consistent. As soon as I start out-fishing my daughter, she wants to put on whatever lure I'm throwing. I'm good in her eyes, although I'll never understand how she used to catch so many fish by herself, without my ***. And when she did, she just wouldn't stop fishing. I won't ever throw a ball that's going to keep me above 200, usually have that one stupid pin on most frames that keeps my score too low from too much headpin. But like fishing, it can be fun. @CattI've read a lot of your posts - what the heck is a tighteye?
  24. I might have to try this out. Bailed on fantasy football a while back, but this might be something interesting. When do you have to register by?
  25. Dick's has a flash sale on right now which includes $5 cranks when you buy 5 or more. Looks like it's only GYCB and Duel Hardcore.
