Fishing is the only activity I can think of where I don't listen to music. I'm also a bank fisherman and enjoy being immersed in the sounds of my surroundings (while also keeping my own sounds to a minimum) If I was going to just sit and wait for a catfish to bite I could see myself downing a few whiskeys and breaking out the bluetooth speaker

When I got out there was a good amount of top water action, so I ended up tying on the pad crasher instead. I didn't land anything, but I got some exciting hits and got a valuable lesson on patience lol

I read through the posting rules and I don't think this is a violation of any kind, but please remove if it is. After I signed up for fantasy fishing I got a promo email from BassMaster offering me a 1-year membership with the magazines and also 4 "exclusive" baits all for $14.99. Just wanted to share in case any of y'all were on the fence about joining. Here's a pic of the baits I got.

Biggest reasons for me are being outdoors and clearing my head/disconnecting. I have an office job where I'm "plugged-in" way more than I like. But, fishing also fits very nicely into a few other quirks in the following ways: My OCD loves organizing gear My inner researcher likes to constantly study new techniques and equipment The collector in me then likes to buy the stuff I've researched And those three things are pretty much the cycle I've been in for the past 6 months. I just got one on clearance at academy and came here to get some info. Not a great sign that I'm the first response lol

I haven't been fishing all too long, so the only thing I've encountered was an angry old woman on a golf cart. A local golf course here has a few ponds that are open to fish. I called the clubhouse to verify before driving out there. Anyhoo, my cousin and I are standing on the bank minding our own business when all the sudden I hear the whine of an electric cart and the hen-like noise of an angry woman quickly approaching. She gets up about 10' from us and stops. Screaming that we cant be there because we'll disrupt the golfers. We both look around and there's not a single golfer in site. I say, "yes ma'am, we'll be sure to stay out of their way". She then starts to drive away and yells "good because I'm calling the police!". We laughed it off, but also left the area pretty quickly since my cousin was breaking a few laws unbeknownst to me until then.

I must've been a good boy this year! Got 3 months of LTB XL coming my way, some good pliers and line nippers, a compact scale so I can stop guessing the weight of my fish and a cool little binder type organizer for soft plastics. Cant wait to get on the water this weekend and put this stuff to use Belated Merry Christmas to y'all!

second for Roland Martin 101 bass catching secrets. Pretty sure it was written in the 70's but the info is still good and he tell some good stories mixed with the info.

Probably 15-20 since I bought my rod in July. I'm hoping to squeeze in 3 more trips before the end of the year and obviously next year I'll put up better numbers!
