In-Fisherman Magazine for $6. Wow.
Yup, I get In-Fisherman on my tablet now along with the panfish and bass yearly editions. Now I've got 'me all with me where ever I go and can search for an article without digging through boxes. Only go back 5-6 years, but I am super greatful for the convenience and storage space. Doing the same with a lot of other books and mags.

My absolute most fun lure to fish is........
Yup, ^ second and a grub bite first. Had a couple days when I/we caught fish on grub and/or small swimbaits till our hands hurt.

Essential multi-tool...
I have a Gerber Recoil that I carry with me everywhere and it has held up really nice. Bought it in 2003 and bought a couple back ups a couple years after. I take a Gerber 400 Fisherman and Gerber 600 Fisherman with me out on the water depending on what I'm fishing for. Love my Gerbers. BTW: that looks like a MP 400 or scout 400.

It's a great reel!

Costa silver mirror lenses
Looked at them out in the sunlight? I also have silver mirror; love 'em. They typically have a couple ID marks on boxes and such, but no color mark on lenses themselves.

Academy Sports Clearance
Got some Nanofil for $4 and got my first spool of Gliss for $12. Glad we came to TX and visited the family this Christmas.

The most popular lure you've never used
Been pitching craws almost exclusively. Yeah, I agree. Gonna get to it this year coming up.

sunglasses
Yeah, I am also a big believer in Costa's. tried Solar Bats before they changed over, Oakley and Wiley X's and Costa's are by far the best for sight fishing, especially in clear water plus they are ultra comfortable. I have the 580P's in Silver (copper base with mirror front and back) and they are the best I have ever fished with. Looking to get Green mirror next year. Worth it for me!

Jigheads for grubs
Thanks for the info, yall. Gonna try at least one pack of each to see which one is best for me.
-
Dam fishing
Yep. That's what I was looking for. Gonna try Slider Spider jigheads and the Rage Rig.

Jigheads for grubs
What open hook jigheads do you guys like for swimming grubs and other plastics. Had a couple I liked but they were hand made, mom and pop tackle spots that have since closed up shop. Got a few that I buy from the big box stores but you have to sacrifice either a thin wire, sticky sharp hook or a rinky dink plastic keeper. If you know of a good jighead that has all three, I would sure appreciate the help! Planning to try the Keitech tungsten jighead this year and give the Lunker City LunkerGrip jighead again. LC had bad hooks with the last batch I bought.

Best River Lures?
Don't do a lot of smallie fishing unfortunately, but do fish for Guadalupe bass and they fish similarly. I throw small buzzbaits and Bomber Fat A's when the current is swift. Eakin's finesse jigs w/craws, baby boo jig w/plastic, Kalin grub, tube, Tiny Lucky 13 and Rapala, Rebel or Smithwick floating minnow (depending on size and rattles). Haven't tried the swim jig or Ned rig for Guads, but looking forward to trying.

Soft Bottom Baits
Lot of grass and soft bottom? Tube, grub and craw. Jighead/open hook, light t-rig, swim jig. Also, floating Rapala minnow, Norman Thin N, other floating/diving cranks.

Dam fishing
Is there any lure/technique that you use more than another that produces more under the dam. A moderate flow under the dam is best? Any change in technique with little flow or high flow?

Dam fishing
I fished below Pickwick when we were stationed at Fort Campbell. Caught some nice spots down there. In CenTex and the Hill Country there are a lot of low-head dams so the bass fishing is supposed to be pretty good. I've caught some, but I've seen other guys really catch some numbers and size. Been almost 7 years since I've done that type of fishing also, so a refresher is definitely needed.

Dam fishing
Anybody do it? Bunch of dams in CenTex and the Hill Country. Seems to be the most consistent bite if there is even a little water coming over the dam (mostly low-head dams in the area). At least that's what most of the bass guys around here say. Haven't had any luck yet. How do yall do it and what do yall use? Tend to be smaller waters and low head dams here, but there are big dams and larger spillways also.

Rattlin’ Rogue
Yup! Storm used to make a fairly decent floating minnow, but you had to fish through at least 5 to find a decent one. The Rapala Original is still the one I fish and it's done well for me!

Favorite species (outside of bass)
Bluegills, Redears, Redbreasts, Warmouths... Love the panfish, but especially the sunfish.

Fishing Glasses
For that price, definitely get some Costa's.

covering water with finesse presentations
Bingo. Slider fishing with Slider worms and Slider grub. Also split shot rig and Kalin grubs on jigheads. Winter time I like a white tube crawling on bottom. When I think fishing finesse fast, I think of fishing a "fast" finesse technique. The bass wil show themselves. The bass will show themselves faster on finesse techniques than power techniques in general (in Winter) and the faster they show themselves, the faster you can put a pattern together.
