Inshore Rod power- M or ML
Looking to get an inshore spinning rod- right now a Loomis E6X Inshore 843s is leading the list. Mainly to match the 843c I already have. Will be using a Stadic ci4+ 2500 reel with 10# Sufix 832. I'll be in a kayak 50% of the time, other 50% in a bay boat. Fishing for specks, reds, flounder, stripers mainly. I love how the 843c loads up- just really nice and soft tip. I like it more that a comparable St. Croix Tidemaster- which is no slouch. Two questions- 1. Any other contenders? ALX is also on the list, but no opportunity to try it out. Budget is $200. 2. Should I go with a ML- the 842s?

Curado 70+ light baits
With a 70XG, I can cast an weighted hook with a small tube- total about 1/8 oz. around 30-34 yards (measured by my son in the yard). Rod is an E6x Inshore M/Mod Fast. Not totally bombing it, was looking for consistency with good, natural form (and no backlashes).

Best inshore rod under 150$?
I just picked up an E6x Inshore (Med Mod) 7' baitcaster but haven't fished it. It's going to be perfect for speckled trout, flounder, small stripers and small reds. I'm a little concerned about larger fish- well see. I don't think this could do double duty for bass- when they call it a moderate, it really is! Again, this rod is perfect for the what it's been designed for. Maybe a MH or Med Fast model would work for both, but not sure it would make sense.

Curado 200K
Thanks for the pic. I'm debating between the 70 and the 200k, but based on the above its going to be the 70. I have a couple of 200i and one 70XG and I really like the 200 but the 70 just feels so right. This will be for inshore fishing for speckled trout, flounder, redfish, and maybe stripers. Should I be worried about the reduced line and/or saltwater capability of a 70HG?

So I had to send back both new St.Croix rods... Buy up to the Avids?
As others have said, if you can, upgrade to the Avid/X. I started with Mojos and they were (are?) solid rods. However once I got an Avid X, it was like night and day. HUGE step up in performance, quality, feel, etc. My Mojos caught fish, but I haven't used them in about a year now.

Kayak Comparison - ATAK 120 vs Big Rig
I load my Cuda LT and Native Tribe on top of a Honda Odyssey van. Using the Thule Outrigger bar makes it easier. As others said, it's about technique. But yeah, they're waaay up there. I got the LT version since I didn't want to car top a regular Cuda or anything over ~55# and didn't want the hassle of a trailer.

Best bass spinning rod at Gander Mountain in the $140-$210 range?
Wow. All that is left near me are some Mojo Bass, Triumphs, a few abu Veracitys, ducketts, ***. Lots and lots of GM rods.

Kistler Light MH compares to what power Dobyns?
I have 6'8" LMH fast moderate and it does all those well and top waters within the lure weight really well. I've used it with smaller swim baits for inshore fishing. I've also used it for small cranks and traps and it does great. So yeah, I pretty much use it for everything except dropshot, Ned rigs, weightless lures, etc. It's my go to rod and one I always have for the versatility and that it is a pleasure to use. I will say I wasn't a big fan of Winn grips before this rod, but Kistler did something and it's one of my most comfortable handles.

Kistler Light MH compares to what power Dobyns?
I have a Light MH Kistler Mag 2- it's the baitcaster I reach for most often- very versatile, great feel, light, responsive. Can't compare it to a Dobyns though. fishnkamp is spot on- asking what will you use the rod for.

Curado 70 - Bearing Size for Handles ?
I got mine from Boca Bearing. IMHO, changes the reel for the better. I get a more "connected" feeling. Or I could be just projecting. I didn't do the worm gear yet however- fishing it.

Curado 70
It was sidearm... and I agree, less backlash for me with that method. I think the issue was that my brakes were set too high and I was forcing the cast to get distance- hence the bad form. I did a few overhead casts and no problem, good distance, no backlash.

Curado 70
I have the 70XG and was getting backlashes a lot more than I thought I should and my distance sucked- i.e. wasn't getting them on the Curado 200i's which were also bombing casts. My father-in-law (40+ years bass fishing) and I went out in the yard and he watched me cast. I had two brakes on and the dial set to 5. Backlash. He said my form wasn't correct- I wasn't allowing the rod to load up. I put three brakes on and my distance got worse, but no backlash. He suggested, turn just one brake on and set the dial to 1 or 2 and let the rod load up (he showed me with his setup). I told him he'll need to fix the ensuing bird's nest and/or respool my line. I went ahead and changed the settings, cast.. and WOW! Probably went 45- 50 yards with no backlash. This is with a 3/8 plug and 30# Sufix 832 with a FC leader (FG knot) on a Kistler Mag2 6'8" Light MH Fast Mod rod. Tension knob set so no side play in spool and plug dropped slowly to ground.

Rods/reels for kayaking- there can be only 3!
@HeavyTwenty- I guess it's that I have the 845C and it's a super nice rod- I can feel everything that's happening- hate to leave it. I guess I should pick and choose what I want to fish with and rotate rods/reels.

More accidents on the water
I just started kayak fishing and I've been out a few times and observed I'm one of the few out of ~20-30 folks on kayaks, paddleboards, john boats, etc. wearing a PFD. I'm a strong swimmer but I wouldn't think of being out there without a PFD. I tell my kids, repeatedly, wearing a PFD is like putting on your seatbelt.

Best Line Spooling Station ?
That sounds like a good idea. Pic?

What power/action(s) for St.Croix Avid-X spinning setups
This has been an advantageous thread for me- I've got an Avid X MLXF 6'9" and have been musing over getting an Avid X MF 7' to be a bit more versatile (and then really looked at the MXF 6'8"). Ya'll might have saved me some coin and I think I'll stick with the MLXF as my spinning rod to take care of finesse duties and light everything else. But definitely need to upgrade to a Ci4+ 2500.

Rods/reels for kayaking- there can be only 3!
@lmbfisherman - good suggestions. I have either a Shimano Expride or St. Croix Mojo SCIII 7' MHF I could swap for the GLX. I'd love to add in a 7' M/F Avid X to switch with the MLXF. and I can't imagine carrying 9-13 rods on a bass boat, much less a kayak.

Rods/reels for kayaking- there can be only 3!
I've started kayak fishing (love it) and with that goes the minimizing of gear. I'm fishing in NC (Falls Lake /Beaver Dam /Jordan)- water isn't clear- especially with all the rain we've had. Right now I've thinking: 1. For CBs, Traps, SquareB, Jerks(?)--- Loomis GLX 845C- 7' MH Mod rod with a Curado 200 (6.3:1) and 16# Sniper FC 2. For spinners, chatterbaits--- Kistler Mag2- 6'8" light MH, Fast Mod with a Curado 70 (8.2:1) and 30# braid with a FC leader 3. For Drop, Ned--- Avid X- 6'9" MLXF with a Symetre and 10# braid with a FC leader Not sure what to do about topwater (if and when). I could swap the Curado 70 with a Curado 200 (7.1:1) and use the 70 for top (MXF rod), but was trying to keep the rod count to 3 (or 2!). I've used all three a couple of time and seems good. I'm missing a carolina rig/jig/worm rod though. OR am I overthinking?

St Croix Mojo Bass vs Abu Garcia Ike Signature Series Spinning Rod s
I've had both. The Ike is a nice rod but it went back to the store. I've got three MOJO rods (one a SCII) and they stayed.

Bps carbonlite 2.0 or lews tournament mb
Oh the black CL grindy feel! Out of four, only one is smooth. It's not terribly noticeable when fishing, but once you know it, you know it. I have hopes for the 2.0 CL. I know it's beefier (weighs more). However, I'd probably stick with the Lews.

Fished my new Tatula CT - Tatula CT VS Curado 200I
I found my Tat CTs cast a mile with just about any lure weight. However, I like the Curado 200i/70XG reels more. Just personal preference.

How many setups do I need?
Lots of solid advice in this thread. A couple of weekends ago I did a few days of inshore fishing- I brought 4 setups (ML 6'9" spinning, MH 7' baitcaster, M 6'10" baitcaster, lightMH moderate fast 6'8" baitcaster). I found I used the 6'8" baitcaster 85% of the time. I switched setups just cause I had them but had to pack them, carry them on/off the boat, etc. Next trip I'll take just two- one spinning and one baitcaster. In fact, I'm seriously considering downsizing to just a couple setups. Oh the horror!

FG knot weakening
I do about 20 wraps then one half hitch, tighten, then two half hitches over the tags, trim tag ends, another three half hitches. I haven't had any problems with the knot coming undone. That was a good video and I might try that fancy knot at the end.

Shimano Citca vs Daiwa Tatula CT. Which one? Any other reel for under $150?
I have a couple of Tatula CT (8.1:1) and they fish well. However, my Curado I (and 70) fish (cast, retrieve, palm) better for me. YMMV. The Curados did take me longer to dial in, but once I did, they're great.

St Croix ScII rods vs SCIII rods
I've got a Mojo SCII and a couple of SCIII as well as an Avid. The Avid is worth the extra $- it just feels/fishes that much better. I can tell a little bit of difference between the SCII and SCIII on the Mojos. Would I spend more to get the SCIII? Yes. My father-in-law has a couple of Tidemasters (SCII) and I would say they feel/fish better than my Mojos (they are more $). Looking back I'd rather have saved up to get to Avid level instead of the Mojos- but the Mojos have caught fish and I've had fun, so there's that.
