A Real Bass Fisherman
Now that's wisdom! I like trying the some of the latest lures, but don't think for a moment I won't tie on an old Shad Rap or rig a Crème or Jelly Worm. I love it when a youngster drifts around me and I hear him make that comment, "He's not going to catch a thing with that lure." My reply, " Wait for it..."

5 Gallon *Pitching* Challenge
Practice pays. About 10 years ago, I wanted to pitch from a sitting position.(kayak) I practiced off and on all winter and got to where I could consistently hit a 1' square at 20'. I then set up a bench that was about 18" high and practiced pitching under it at 12-15' without hitting the bench. That took awhile, but I finally mastered it. Practice pays.

Let's talk kayak hulls
I'm going to wait and see where they end up with the wings. Luther was live streaming yesterday and he showed wings made of a stiffer material that they are testing.

Let's talk kayak hulls
Funny you brought up kayak hulls today. I was googling my head off last night trying to find information on hull design. I've been looking really hard at the Bonafide SS127 thinking I might pick one up. I got to try one out couple weeks back and it is a really stable yak. I guess some owners were complaining about it being hard to turn, so Luther Cifers had "flex wings" designed for it and I guess it helps, but I don't understand how. Other than that it has good speed for a paddle yak and tracks great without a rudder. I'm not too crazy about the "flex wings" though, as I often position myself in the middle of the slop during the summer and I can see a bunch of cabbage getting hung up on those wings. I think I might wait on this yak because if I know Luther, he'll redesign the stern on future models.

SCARING THE H*** OUT OF ME, OK and KS
I just saw that. I thought I was going to visit a couple of my favorite lakes at the refuge. but they had barriers at the crossings. I couldn't see the one lake, but I could hear the water coming through the gates, really loud.

Lose one...buy two to replace it.
I didn't read "colors." For a second there I thought they discontinued the Pit Boss.

Consistancy of bass fishing
Please excuse. Too many mind. Mind the anglers watching, mind the paddle and kayak, mind the reel and lure. Too many mind. NO MIND. Seriously @HTNFSH, it's called "mushin."

Is @Bluebasser86 still with us? I hope he's keeping his head above water. I was just watching the news and they were showing some pictures of Kansas, they got pounded with rain! You sitting above water where you're at, @jbsoonerfan?

PUBLIC SERVICE REMINDER
BREAKING: BELTON, TEXAS — An empty kayak on Lake Belton has led to a search for a missing man, Morgan’s Point Resort Fire Chief Taran Vaszozc-Williams told the Telegram. Multiple agencies are searching for the man, but his name hasn’t been released yet. The man is in his 50s and has grayish-white hair and a goatee, Vaszozc-Williams said. The search is being concentrated near Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area and also at Frank’s Marina near the Belton Dam. I hope he is found safe. Either way, I thought it would be good time for a reminder.

SCARING THE H*** OUT OF ME, OK and KS
We're ok, folks west of us were not as lucky. I guess there is some major flooding north of us. 2.25" here at the house. Been a long night, I'm hitting the sack.

@jbsoonerfan, don't know if you saw the Mangum tornado. I watched it on News 9, but this guy's video is a lot better. https://www.news9.com/clip/14827728/caught-on-camera-a-large-funnel-drops-down-near-mangum?fbclid=IwAR0syw4_amhiH5GHX7ZHNZfjaTaZz0fztjH9ufOXYaXhy5gFblg9Zmz-AGM I think the line will cross over our homestead by 9 PM.

SCARING THE H*** OUT OF ME, OK and KS
I've lived here over 20 years and I'm still not use to this. I know you folks, @Bluebasser86, up in Kansas are in the same boat. How in the heck do you do it?? They've even canceled all the schools around here for this event. I'll be up all day and all night...getting to old for this!

Relativity of lure costs
Megabass, LC, etc., I don't even think about it when I throw em, but try explaining to your wife that you dropped a Calcutta reel and a nice rod in 60' of water. Then watch the expression on her face when you tell her you want to order another one.

Summer gloves?
Thanks, I just pulled the trigger on these. Been using NRS gloves, but they're more suited for colder weather. I think these will fit the bill and the price was right.

Going Fast
Three years after I started kayak fishing, I sold my glitter boat. I get it, they are fast and they are nice, but after living many years in the fast lane, I was ready to slow down and take in everything that had been passing me by. "Mushin" brothers.

I hope they have those gates opened wide because this beast that's coming tomorrow is going to dump some major water into these lakes.
