I grew up listening to stories about the Great Depression from my late father and grandfather. My grandfather survived the Great War and the Spanish Flu of 1918 and had many stories that he shared. I've been going over those stories a lot in my head and dreams the past couple of weeks and I've found that they all share a commonality; neighbors helping neighbors. Trust me when I tell you that I am just as scared as the next person for the future, at my age, I don't know if I'll survive this. However, I have faith that our human spirit, our American spirit, will get through this. I've got a gut feeling that this may get worse before it gets better, but as long as we don't lose our humanity, and help each other, we'll get through it.
