  1. Wait until you factor a wife and children into the mix. Time is easily one of our most precious resources. Use it wisely.
  2. The last tip you need about Florida bass fishing is that you absolutely must buy a scale. You will definitely be needing one.
  3. I have my team entered and will be looking to crack the top 10 in our group. I am at 92.5 percentile but 11th in Bass Resource. Thank says a lot for the knowledge (or dumb luck) of this group.
  4. I learned to not fish weight-less near trees when a cross wind is blowing over 20. I just spent 15 minutes recovering a hook while my buddy was catching fish.
  5. It was 85°F today with a comfortable breeze. I caught 5 today including a 3 pounder during my lunch hour.
  6. They all seem bigger before you weigh them.
  7. Congrats on a PB! That is a pretty fish. Maybe she will inspire you to buy a scale.
  8. Every day Monday - Friday for an hour during my lunch break and once in a while on the weekends.
  9. I agree completely. In my opinion lure manufactures make different shapes, sizes and colors for fishermen not for fish. I vary my presentation dramatically until I get a clue what is triggering a strike, but almost never change colors or lures. I fish with whatever I happen to pull out of my pocket.
  10. At 2:30 basstrak has 4 out of 5 of my guys in the top 27. The one exception is Palaniuk who appears to be taking an elite poop on day 1.
  11. I had a day on Friday that I have to share. I fish from noon to 1 PM nearly everyday during my lunch hour with two of my colleagues. We catch a few fish but rarely many big ones, but it gets us out of the office and lets us enjoy the south Florida sunshine. Friday, January 26 the wind is blowing 20+ but the skies are clear so off we go. With the wind at my back I send my first cast out about 35 yards and light a smoke. I start working the lure and on the second bump I feel that all too familiar tick and wind down and set. The first picture is the resulting 4-6 fatty. All three of us keep fishing and each catch 4 really little guys (I mean really little, 8" or less). Its gets near 1 PM and we call last cast. I have worked my lure nearly to the bank when I get torpedoed. The second picture is the last cast 3 - 15. Last year I only caught two fish over 4 pounds so I get two in that range in an hour was special. I was using a spinning reel loaded with 15 lb mono with a 6" medium action rod and a Havoc Rocket Craw (Watermelon with purple fleck) Texas-rigged with a 3/16oz bullet weight.
  12. Many years ago a friend told me the following: "When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way so that when you die, the world will cry and you will rejoice" I am sorry for your loss.
  13. When it gets unseasonably cold, I put on a long sleeve shirt or maybe a light jacket and go fishing. Gotta love South Florida!
  14. You should look more west. I live in Loxahatchee and nearly all of the canals are accessible. The Commons is a public park in Royal Palm that also has nice bass.
  15. 7-4 fishing during my lunch break with two co-workers fishing right beside me.
  16. Total Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 2017 Total 376 110 95 71 100 2017 Total Over 1 Pound 48 15 10 10 13 Average Fish/Day 2.10 2.00 1.94 2.09 2.44 This was the first year I kept a fishing log. Included in the summary above is by PB @ 7-4. I typically only get to fish for an hour during my lunch break so the Fish / Day numbers are actually Fish / Hour. It was a good year!!
  17. Greetings LOTR88, We are practically neighbors, I live a few miles north of you in the Acreage in Loxahatchee. Are you going to the free concert at the Wellington amphitheater tomorrow (Thursday) night? I will be there with my family and would like to meet you. Maybe we can chase those Wellington bass around one weekend.
  18. I would add: Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff.
  19. There is no chance Jesus would live in Michigan.
  20. Where did you go? 20 quality bass in an hour is spectacular!
  21. There is a reason our highways are jammed every during my commute. Everyone wants to be in South Florida this time of year. Both the weather and fishing are outstanding.
  22. I have not seen any beds yet, but the bass I am catching are REALLY fat.
  23. Beginning last week the bite around Deerfield Beach, FL has been awesome during the lunch time hour. Typically I average a bass every 30 minutes but lately the catch rate has over doubled and the size is much better than I am used to seeing. I am also hooking snake heads and myan cyclids. Has pre-spawn begun in south florida or is there something else happening causing the mid-day bite to be turned on?
  24. I skip lunch every day so I can go fishing.
  25. This is easily my favorite, great background and my personal best at 7 - 4.
