  1. Can I add a question, I dont want to start a new thread. I heard guys talk about bad wood and good wood in the water. What is the difference and how do you determine one from another? Thanks, Ian
  2. I do not know who makes BPS but I use them with good results. I love BPS tubes, specifically 4" Magnum Flippin Tubes. They last about as long as any other tube in my opinion. I use BPS worms and creatures also. I cannot say there is anything bad about them, they are priced good also. Maybe you could e-mail them and ask them who makes their plastics, they might tell you. I tried google but nothing came up. Ian
  3. Are we talking about Gary Yamamato Swim Senkos? Do you mean that they are heavy enough or are you talking about a different brand of swim senko that comes weighted? Ian
  4. I believe so. I generally use a technique that I use for jerkbaits with them. That is a jerk jerk pause. Either that or ill use a weighted hook and retrieve it steadily. I only have the natural colors and I use them in clear water. I believe they are supposed to represent baitfish in one way or another. Ian
  5. I wanted to remind all to be careful while your out driving in this bad weather. I learned from experience this afternoon . Theres not much to say...just be careful, dont drive faster than you have to, and give yourself some extra time to get where your going. Be careful and get there safely all! Ian
  6. I dont think it is a must....but they definetly increase your chances of not loosing a fish. I know of instances where people have caught muskies on 4 and 6 pound test. My dad wraps wire around the R shape on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. He wraps it around the bottom of the R so that it leaves anough room to attach the snap....but keeps it from sliding. It works. Ian
  7. I love the color on that Bandit! They look great! Ian
  8. Wow, yes I remember them! I have one and I know a place that still sells them. I havent fished mine in years though. Ian
  9. Can you post pics of this stuff? I have never heard of it and it sounds good. Thanks, Ian
  10. I second this with a BIG 2!!! I also will throw crawdad pattern year round, but more so in the fall and the spring. I find that Rebel Wee R's and Deep Wee R's also work well. The Bandit 100's are in among my top cranks also. Good luck! Ian
  11. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D...........
  12. I was just looking at that top photo a little closer, the one of the pike. The body of the smaller one is layed the wrong way...the head would have to be upside down. It could be a fake. If you pull out the gill on the larger one...you could place the smaller one inside the gill, then with the right camera angle, it would look real. If you look close and look at it long enough you will begin to think it's fake...I did. Ian
  13. Hey hey hey.....long time no see... ;D! My new club is getting underway up here. Are you still up for that club vs club challenge? Good to here from ya! Ian
  14. Is there a time when bass prefer one action of a shakeyhead worm over another? I ask this because some worms are stiffer and dont have near the action as a longer more shakey worm. Ian
  15. Yea....they just filled it back up last summer and stocked it with trout. We got plenty of pics when it was down... Ian
  16. Our camp is the Juniata Rod and Gun Club, it's just up the road from Carter Camp. It's about 8 miles from Germania. It takes us about an hour to get to Lyman Run. We fished straight across form the boat launch where those big rocks are on the bottom . Ian

Tubes are good year round...there is no best time to use them in my opinion. I use Mizmo, BPS, and Zoom tubes. I like Mizmo's green-pumpkin and red shad, I like BPS's Goby, watermelon red flake, watermelon chartail, pumkin green flake, black blue flake, and black bluetail. I like Zoom's pumkin, watermelon, and black red flake. I will usually rig them on a jighead unless I am fishing some really heavy weeds or wood, then I would texas rig them. I did have some luck this summer on the carolina rig. Good luck! Ian
  18. I use 5 different craw cranks in different colors. What brand is the kit...do you have a pic of it? Ian
  19. Last weekend was my first trip up north to our camp for the year. The weather was bad this time around with 16 inches of snow and some ice, but all in all...I had fun! We didn't catch many..but it's just getting away for the weekend that made it fun. Saturday we hit Lyman lake in the morning and limited out in trout, all 5 of us. We kept nothing under 12 inches. After dropping off our catch we went to Alvin Bush dam to finish out the day. We walked around checkin ice until we found a good area. All we caught were dink perch...nuthing over 4 inches, and we caught about 20 of them. Here are some pics...sorry theres none of the fish...dead batteries... >!
  20. That last pic is awesome! Nice fish !!! Ian
  21. My dad uses one of them...the problem I have is that I fish deep a lot....and hanging a crank in 20 feet of water, and having a 12' pole.....you get my concept? ;D But for fishing in the river man nothing could work better than a modified extendable golf ball retriever for 3$ at wally world. Ian
  22. Garlic totally rocks...thats my best producing scent! I also have one I call Sweet Garlic....it's really sweet! Ian
  23. I use anise oil or vegatable oil.....mixed with liquified pork fat.... 8-) Ian
  24. I am just getting ready to mix up some more of my homemade scent, I use it more for masking human odors. I got out an a bottle of new stuff I am experimenting with that I mixed up about 2 months ago that has been sitting ever scince. I opened it and WOW....does it smell like italian dressing. It didn't smell anything like that 2 months ago....now I want to put it on my salad. I am gonna experiment this afternoon and see if I can come up with some new mixes to try! Does anyone else make their own scents? Ian
