  1. Try some spinnerbaits... . Depending on how dark and dirty the water is, I would try a white one with 1 silver willowleaf, and 1 silver colorado blade. Try nightfishing there with a Strikeking Midnight Special spinnerbait, i prefer black, with an Uncle Josh Pork Rind on the back. I sencond the senko's also! Oh...don't forget trailer hooks on spinnerbaits if you try them! Ian
  2. I plan on fishing Lake Meade down by York springs after thaw out....if it ever freezes. I have never fished this water before. I did a good bit of at home research, resulting in finding the creek channel, and that from the looks of my topo maps, there isn't many breaklines on the bottom....looks mostly flat. I could not pull up any previous tournament results on this lake. Nor could I find any fishing reports. I have explored the shoreline a great deal using google earth and other satellite images, and I have printed off both a topical version, and a satellite version of the lake. I have a few questions that I could not find answers to. 1. What are the primary types of aquatic vegitation? 2. Is there any off-shore structure? 3. What are the primary species of baitfish? Thanks for the help! Ian
  3. i hope this isnt 100% true.............. I wouldn't put it past some of these kids these days. I doubt that anyone could get high by being in the restrooms too long at my school, but you can smell it. Most kids in my school do it in the parking lot before or after school. Our restrooms aren't monitored enough, I walked in a few weeks ago and there was 3 kids in the stalls passin cigarettes under the stalls. But I smell "other stuff" every now and then. > > > :-[ :-[ :-[ I hate my generation a little bit! Ian
  4. Yea man! It was 63 when I left school this afternoon...this is crazy! But that looks like a HUGE cold front! Ian
  5. Have a dirty mouth............clean it up with orbit! Ian
  6. We do indeed have groundhogs up here.
  7. Really......I thought they only live in the waters where Tin was catching them on 4 pound test using a drop shot setup?
  8. Our state department told us there are no coyotes....but they're here.....they even deny the prescence of mountain lions...and we all know they are here. They said that the thing that carried off a goat was a fox....a FOX! Yea uh huh, I would like to see that. I do know our counties warden well...so I will ask him. I hope to report back soon. Ian
  9. Can I get an autograph? ;D Awesome!!! Ian
  10. I am not aware of them living up here....is there any other animal like a badger? Ian
  11. As I was walking through the woods this morning in pursuit of a deer, I stumbled upon this object. It appears to be a claw...but of what origin is what I am pondering... :-/. I found it embeded between 2 large size granite rocks. I was hunting an area known for coyotes, as they have recently taken the life of a 700 pound cow, also a few deer, and many turkeys. I matched it up to the claw from a 200 pound bear of my dad's....the claw I found is longer, and not as arched. It also seems that it is built for what seems like attacking purposes. I have never seen anything like this...I am sure it is not from a bear. I believe it is retractable, because of the way it is built...bears don't have retractable claws...only members of the feline family...such as mountain lions and bobcats. The specs are 2 inches from tip of point to the back, over 3/8 of an inch from under side to upper side, and 3/16 inch thick. All I can say is.....this is no ordinary house cat. Ian
  12. I agree that their durability is going to be not so great. Here is the link if anyone needs it....http://www.triggerx.com/ Ian
  13. ...that's what I found in my pics from the summer. I forgot to post this in that smallest fish thread, so here he is!!! Ian
  14. Sorry guys, they didn't come through clear at ALL. Just imagine them a sharper image, higher pixels, eh? Ian
  15. Ok, I had to resize them, here are a few more. Ian
  16. I prefer Zoom Brush Hogs, Berkely Power Hawgs, and Net Bait Paca Craw's. I fish them depending on where the fish are, and what the conditions are. If the water is muddy and rising, I will flip any of the 3 baits into shoreline cover as the water is rising. I use heavier line because the fish will be holding TIGHT to the cover, if you're not bumping the cover, you're most likely not catching anything. If the water is clear, I will move a little deeper. I dont have a problem using lighter line, such as 10 pound, and even using mono. In the clear water, I usually dont have to fish through the cover, just around it. I find that the fish will usually hold a few feet off the cover so they can see farther and have an expanded strike zone. If I find the fish are active and aggressive, I will use a heavier weight that will allow me to cast longer, and fish faster. The weight makes it fall faster, causing a reaction strike. I feel that I can fish it faster, when the fish are more active, they are more likely to chase something down. I think that it saves time, you can fish through the cover and their territorry faster, and still have them hit. If I find the fish are slow, and not as active, I use lighter weights. I use lighter weights to acheive a slower fall. I think the slower fall causes the fish to think twice about not hitting it, when it falls into their territorry very slowly, they tend to bite it because they feel threatened because it's not leaving as quick as they want it to. Ian
  17. How far did they draw it down? Ian

I think they might be. I highly doubt that we are the only planet with sufficient life forms on it. Like others have said, there are many other galaxies and what not, what's the chances of us being the only planet. I always wondered what is on them planets though, are they like us, are they in the stone age, do they have more advanced technology than us? And my most pondered about question.......Do they fish? What's their waters like? What's their equipment like? How good are they? How big are their fish? What do their boats look like? :-/ :-/ :-/
  19. Thats a neat mount flechero! I don't think he's telling the whole story. A .270 is not a very powerfull gun, but 2 well placed shots should have put it down.
  20. I dont want to hijack the thread....but..has anyone had any luck on the anaconda's? I bought 3 packs and haven't got to try them yet. Ian
  21. Thanks for serving our country! Catch some big ones and post some pics! Ian
  22. I was browsing through this months bassmasters, and there is an article that explains how soda with citric acid can stop hemorrhaging when a fish begins to bleed from the gills or the gullet. Sodas with citric acid that are poured on the affected area causes the capillaries to shrink. I though this was interesting.
