  1. I am partial to seiberts, terminator pro series, and fat sack tackle jigs. All are under $4 and come with good hooks and good colors. A jig is only as good as the hook it has.
  2. I have the 7&8ft heavy. Absolutely love them. Reel seats are nice. Sensitivity is good. Plan to pick up more
  3. Neither. Daiwau tatula ct
  4. I've heard the 6'10 makes a good all around rod for stuff under 3/4 ounce.
  5. They will sell them regardless. No need to let the public in when every youtuber and media personality has coverage from there.
  6. The bucoos are rated light I feel like. I have a 7'4 heavy and it is no where near what I consider a heavy power. But I think you are looking at the correct power rods for jerkbaits. They do have a little more flex to them as in their fast is more of a mod-fast. I would prefer the 6'10 because you could cast it just a bit farther and be a bit more versatile
  7. They don't allow the public. You have to be a part of the fishing "community" so to speak.
  8. If you are looking for a crankbait to cover all of you're depths go with a lipless crankbait. You can fish it from 6 inches to 50 feet deep or deeper. If you are from the bank is suggest 1/2 ounce size. Red Craw, shad, chrome, gold, and bluegill patterns.
  9. How many anglers fish tomorrow?
  10. Id love it if basstrak was correct. Micah Frazier in 4th!? Wheeler in 7th. Got both of them
  11. Tatula 200hd can be had for fairly cheap off ebay
  12. Tighten your spool tension knob and it won't wobble. This is normal
  13. The one that spins longer, spins longer because the tension knob and brakes are turned down more.
  14. If you've caught 1 fish and you just started you're off to a good start. Without knowing the ponds, your equipment, or the region my only advice is to slow down and downsize your presentation.
  15. I learn Just as much by not catching fish, as I do actually catching them. Maybe a jig isn't what they want, maybe a tiny swimbait on a ball head creeped along the bottom will show better results.
  16. 8. Couldn't resist this one. A classic for sure
  17. Btw. Where are you from? Must be close to me if you call stripper pits, stripper pits
  18. Just got these pics from my mom's boyfriend. Him and my grandpa are fishing turtle creek from the bank today They both told me they wouldn't go fishing there unless I could go...they lied. At least maybe next time we will take one of their boats up there
  19. I'm from the area and haven't ever fished it. Like you, I usually fish old strip pits. I know there is a lot of wood and probably some vegetation growth so if you could mix those and throw a spinnerbait, lipless, or chatterbait I'm sure you could catch a few.
  20. Very true statements made here. In less than 3 years I became a husband, step-dad, home owner, and last but not least a father. My fishing time has diminished but my heart is full. And like lo n slo said, if you find the right gal she will help you make time to get on the water...after the dishes are done and the trash is taken out of course. And thanks for your service. It takes a lot of guys to join the military. More guts than I have.
  21. Have you fished your furys yet? If so how do the my compare to your tp1. I have 3 tp1s and really like them but have heard nothing but good things about dobyns
  22. I think all "non-sport" fish fight way harder. Carp, buffalo, flathead, even gar are fun if you hook into a 3ft one.
  23. Braid (soft plastics) or braid to a mono leader when using treble hooks would be my preference for the lures you stated.
  24. Generic treble hooks
  25. What do you plan to use them for? I would suggest braid in spinning reels because of the good handling and thin diameter of braid. Fluoro and mono don't handle as well on spinning reels. Just my .02 What do you plan to use them for? I would suggest braid in spinning reels because of the good handling and thin diameter of braid. Fluoro and mono don't handle as well on spinning reels.
