  1. Tackle tacos work well. And they're clear so you can see what you have tied on.
  2. Bagley rattlin' b minus. Sinks slower but still weighs 1/2 ounce
  3. Did you spool it on backwards?
  4. I'd think a name brand kitchen scale would work good.
  5. Not very, which doesn't validate my point much I know. But if you take my numbers and time them down I think it is more realistic
  6. No I don't. I was saying they have split and full handle. I pick my rods on what lures/cover I'm fishing not by what fish I think I'll catch. The heavy is only rated to 1 ounce. A 1/2 ounce jig plus trailer is gonna be really close to maxing out that rod. 1/2 ounce head + 1/4 ounce of plastic + 3/16 ounce of skirt, hook, and weed guard and you're looking at 15/16ths. I fish my 3/8-3/4 jigs in a rod rated 1/4 up to 1 1/4 and prefer that over my rods only rated to 1 ounce. I fish indiana so I know what you mean by it just being Ohio.
  7. This for anything under 10". G-lock mag worm hook for anything over 10"
  8. What a rough life he lives.
  9. http://dobynsrods.com/rods/champion-extreme/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3auu5eay2QIVVTuBCh2xEwhhEAAYASAEEgJAoPD_BwE Have split and full handle. The full handle Will be my next jig rod. And all youd have to do is call up dobyns and talk to Gary (the owner) or another customer service rep if you have questions or problems. Their customer service is #1
  10. I'll go from the bank a few times a month, off the boat maybe once a month. 60+ hrs a week on nights plus 2 kids and a wide that think I hung the moon keep me from going too awfully much. In the summer I'll go for an he or so when it's still dark when I get off work to a small retention pond.
  11. We catch 100's of bass every year on all white spinnerbaits in the early spring. Out of a pit that is 90 acres. Any fish that is over 18 inches has a tag or gets tagged when we catch it. We have caught the same fish multiple times a year on the same baits in the same spots. Dont think we've caught the same fish in the same day but I know we have in the same week. Some fish get caught more than others. Last September I caught a 6+ that when I caught it was the 3rd time it had been caught that year. Twice out of the same cove. But on the opposite end of the spectrum I caught a 7+ that hadn't been caught in 6 years and was a 6lber when it was caught in 2011 (we estimated that fish at nearly 15 years old). When I caught it, it was literally as far away as I could have from the previous catch site. Fish are similar to other animals, some are very aggressive and careless while others are cautious no matter the circumstances. Both of the fish I mentioned were caught on slow moving bottom baits not reaction style baits. So I'd like to think that presentation is the #1 factor, followed by location, action, profile, and color. I don't buy into the 15,00 different colors offered by bait companies. But to sum it up I think what can "condition" fish to baits is the presence of anglers not the baits themselves (bad boat positioning, loud noises on bank or boat, rainbow casts that result in large splashes etc.) All over 5# and all were tagged. The big one is the 7 I'm talking about
  12. Been raining here in southern indiana for about 8 days. Not 24/7 But everyday for the last I days it has rained and/or snowed. And I don't see signs of it letting up. But in the bright side we've broken 50° for like a week straight
  13. They probably are the same just asthetics are different. Dig around and I'm sure you can find out who makes bass pros rods and reels.
  14. Value and worth is all dictated by each individual person. I've never bought a megabass lure and never will. But that being said, I've got 200-300 dollar combos that I probably won't even catch a fish on or even take with me on trips, yet I could buy 2 vision 110's and probably put 200 fish in the boat this spring. Just depends on if you're will to pay to play
  15. Assassin is good for the price as well.
  16. I'd say 7'3. Lighter and easier to walk a frog with. I actually fish a frog in a 7' that I cut 2 inches of the top off. Should still be able to whip a frog 45 yards on a 7'3. That's plenty far
  17. Less than stellar results. 1 crappie on a drop shot. Could find any hard bottom like I wanted. But the frogs were croaking and the crows were cawwing! Spring is right around the corner.
  18. Welcome from indiana!
  19. Headed out for a few hrs at a local resevoir. Jig, jerk, crank, and drop shot. Dont have those super cold water lures like a blade or float and fly so lets hope they wanna eat a black living rubber jig
  20. Anything over 2 ounces is where i would use it. A-rig, swimbaits, heavy punching, castable sonar etc
  21. I run anywhere from 30-65lb braid on mine. And have caught some big fish. Never had a problem. All these were caught on using tp-1 rods
  22. Berkley lightning rod shock. 7'6 heavy
  23. Had a random 3 inches of snow today, but it's all gone now since it was nearly 70 the end of the week. Plan to get out tomorrow.
  24. Were you fishing in wonkas factory in that chocolate river? Nice fish though!
