  1. Have to know what your equipment is capable of to fish it effectively.
  2. Not gonna get a better reel for less than $75 on black Friday. Just my opinion
  3. Yes please keep us posted! Fingers crossed for a good day!
  4. I know it's a good deep water fishery. At least loon pit and bluegrass pit are
  5. Daiwa fuego 7'3 heavy. (Tacklewarehouse) Daiwa fuego ct. 8.1 gear ratio.(ebay.com) 65Lb daiwa jbraid x4 dark green. (ebay.com) Would run you $155ish total
  6. Wow. I get off work at about 530 this morning, I'll start heading that way lol
  7. I was in your shoes about a year ago, I was fishing a mh and switched to a heavy. Not because of the lure weight but because of the cover I was fishing. Laydowns, stick ups, and grass. We don't have much hard bottom here, so it's rare I throw a jig in wide open clean water.
  8. I'll put them on the list
  9. I haven't. But I have heard that. I mainly fish private/semi private strip pits that Are pretty fantastic. I'd love to get out on bluegrass though. Especially since there's a chance to land a musky My grandpa and I are planning a trip to turtle creek and patoka lake for next year. Turtle creek yielded a 10lber last year
  10. I'm around 25 minutes north of evansville.
  11. For $19 more, the fury is $100 better
  12. Do any of you guys here meet in a semi- centrally located lake and fish with/against one another? I think it would be best to meet some fellow hoosier anglers. I know I'm way South of everyone on this thread though.
  13. The rod I suggested is labeled as a grass rod. And it does it well, but fishes heavier jigs well too
  14. I'll go on the low end and suggest the lews tp1 speed stick 7'3 heavy. I use it to throw 3/8 thru 3/4 ounce jigs. Both casting and pitching these jigs to cover.
  15. Me too. Can't wait!. Now what shall I spool it with?
  16. I have a 6'6 medium, ugly stik lite. It fished like a medium light. I use it for jerkbait and poppers. Have it spooked with 10lb mono. Works just as good as it did when I bought it.
  17. If you are pitching to cover or fishing vegetation I would suggest a 7ft mh tp1 speed stick. Its what I use to fish 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs. As well as 1/4 and 3/8 ounce Texas rigs. Love that rod, have 3 of the exact same rod. They do fish I touch heavy, so the medium heavy Would fish like a mag medium heavy. Never fished the fury, but I know they are great rods that seem to run a bit lightwe than labeled. If youre fishing open water i'd suggest the 704 or 734. I think those are the best rods that you have listed. Also look at the falcon Bucoo 7'4 heavy, and the Powell max 3d rod 7ft mh. Also lews makes the mach 2 speed stick and it is 20 dollars cheaper, may look into those as well. Youd have 20 More dollars to spend on line or tackle.
  18. Went to a few pacers game about 10 years ago give or take. Literally sat at the top of conseco fieldhouse. Wasn't bad though because I knew most of the players so it was easy to keep track of them. We watched the bulls, cavs and spurs play the pacers.
  19. Unless you can catch fish without any line, you're not wasting money or costing yourself fish. 20Lb hi vis braid is pretty much the standard for spinning tackle.
  20. I have never heard of people doing this with wet baits, until about 6 months ago. I put baits back in my tackle box. Never had a problem.
  21. Fish don't care what kind or how big of a boat you're in
  22. it's supposed to hit 60 a few days next week here in my neck of the woods in southern indiana. 1 More trip probably
  23. Nice fish, I as well fish black bladed jigs at night with success. And btw, go cubs!
  24. 1/4 oz sniper jig, black head, black skirt, with a rage chunk in it is killer in shallow stained water. Love the fogy's too. Wide wobble and body roll. You won't be disappointed
