Wouldn't ever trust my life to a .380 but if I had to, I'd use something by hornady. definitely wouldn't use fmj.
  2. 10 From the bank today in an hour and a half. 76 degrees, 20 mph winds. Fish were cool, but not cold. Water temp in the high 50's or low 60's probably. Lipless, jig, spinnerbait. Biggest on jig, most on lipless
  3. Falcons run a bit light, And are a touch slower on the action than what they are rated. I say buy it.
  4. Hopefully sunday, I told my wife is stay up with the baby on Saturday night if I could sneak away for a few hours on sunday.
  5. Reconditioned means it may have been returned and they cleaned it up, or replaced a guide insert etc. The site is legit. And now they have buy one get one 50% off. You could get 2 veritas rods for 90 bucks. Or 2 fenwick for 112. Both good buys.
  6. Go to ffotackle.com and check out a fenwick elite tech 6'9 mh
  7. 47! Please tell me you're up north?
  8. I am planning on picking up a 7ft mh moderate fast for square bills and traps.
  9. The winch is nice. I had mine in a 7'11 heavy cranking rod throwing 10xd cranks and it performed great. Lot of line capacity for Crankbaits.
  10. This is my second choice. Really solid rods at 100 bucks. Fish a little heavier than labeled
  11. That's Walhat makes it unique, it gives the whole package a body roll. They are great!
  12. I have a lengthy review of a falcon Bucoo sr on this site. Its a really nice rod.
  13. Look into Lews tp1 speed sticks. They are great for the money
  14. Your newer line choices look good. But I'm a simple guy, and only use 4 types of line, 15 and 50lb braid, 10 and 17lb copoly. 15lb braid for a spinning setup (10lb copolymer as a leader). Cranks, jerks, poppers, buzzbaits get 10lb copolymer. Moving baits such a swim jigs, spinner baits, swimbaits, bladed jigs get 17lb copolymer. Jigs, Texas rigs, frogs, etc get 50lb, some with a 17lb leader, some without.
  15. No problem. Be sure to post pics of your catches. We would love to see them.
  16. I use p-line cxx as a leader. For my 30lb braid I tie a 10lb leader, for 50lb braid I tie a 17lb leader. I don't use a leader For any baits that I use with 65lb.
  17. personally, id go heavier. I prefer at minimum 30lb on my baitcasters. 30lb for medium power, 50lb for medium heavy, and 65lb for heavy
  18. Love throwing big worms. I have some 10.5 inch worms but prefer the 12 inch mag ol monsters. They will catch all sides of fish.
  19. Ducketts fish light, go heavy all the way around.
  20. I fish 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs in a 7'4 heavy falcon Bucoo sr. I love it. I fish 1/4 ounce jigs on a 7ft medium fast action rod that we cannot talk about on here. And 3/4 and 1 ounce jigs on a 7'3 heavy lews tp1 speed stick. You could buy all 3 of these rods and be 10 bucks over your $250 budget. Pm me if you want to know what exact rod I was talking about. I also have a review on here about the falcon Bucoo
  21. Daiwa makes a solid swimbait rod for around $110
