Setting the hook on line thru swimbaits
Set the hook when you feel the weight of the fish. It doesn't matter if your fishing braid, fluoro, mono, or dental floss. Hooksets are free, swarp on em!

Wanting first Crankbait rod. Any suggestions.
I'd say save your money and return the lews and get another one.

Tag on leader connection knot?
@gall yes with an fg knot. It's the only connection knot I use. I practiced for awhile before taking it out on the water when I was learning it. For that small of mono I used 30 wraps, just in case. And since it was on spinning gear with bigger guides, I didn't have to worry about knot length. Normal knot ill use 24 wraps (30-50lb braid, 10-17lb leader). Least I've went is 20. I always end with an even number of wraps that way the half hitch knots are easier to tie at the end. And I trim my tags as flush as possible with leader knot. But I really cinch my knots down.

Tag on leader connection knot?
I have tied a #15 daiwa j-braid x4 mainline to a 4lb mono leader with no technical issues. Only thing that struggled was my eyes seeing that small diameter line. I believe the braid I was using is similar or smaller in diameter than 832.

Can anyone tell me about the lews super duty
I just ordered one. Hated that it was lefty retrieve but couldn't pass it up. It will be my go to heavy pitching reel. Big line, big bass, big baits.

An odd and yet telling confrontation on social media
It's for after you drunk too many wine coolers and pass out. Keeps you from rolling in the water

towing with a small suv?
I didn't know they were only rated for that. That's kinda sad. We build the highlander, sequoia, And Dianna at my plant here in southern indiana. Hard to believe 1000 highlanders a day come out of that plant and we still can't keep up

towing with a small suv?
Can't go wrong with a toyota. I feel like they make the best of the best of every style of vehicle. The new rav4's are nice. And not too pricey.

Lily pads- rod, reel, line question
I wouldn't suggest fishing vegetation with anything less than 30lb, a 6'6 Or 7' mh fast action is as light as I would go. As for reels I'd looks for whichever has the best/most drag. Hope these tips help. Also comfort play somewhat of a role to me when picking out a new combo

Any place close to 47665 that Ive got a good chance to land a smallie? Don't have em down here- Help me choose my crankin rod
falcon run very light. I have a 7'4 heavy I bought for jigs that I am gonna use for squarebills and lipless cranks. Maybe the occasional swim jig. It is parabolic for a fast action, and is over powered with a 3/8 ounce jig. I would say go with the dobyns. I think they run very true to their power and have a great reputation.- When To Use Red Bug Color Soft Plastics ?
Couldn't have said it better myself. Same here with my best friend/fishing buddy. He's a Chuck and winder! I try to be as methodical and boring as possible. But in being that way I am very productive. - New Veritas Rods
