  1. Hopefully headed up to Turtle Creek Resevoir Friday. I knkw there are some absolute giants in there. 1 over 10 lb was caught there last year. And i believe 600 over 24 inches. Im stoked! I will be fishing with my grandpa who knows the lake like the back of his hand and is retired from the power plant and has access to employee only areas.
  2. I have experience with the ct reel and lews rods...wouldnt trade em for another combo of the same price.
  3. I havent fished the dredger yet, but i have thrown the warpig and cutter 110. The hooks are sharp! Pierced my ear on accident one day casting in the yard
  4. 7 inch. Reason? Big bass.
  5. Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Thats what i am gonna do. Braid for jigs, flipping, and spinning tackle. Copolymer for my moving baits, and fc for cranking.
  6. 7'11 heavy cranking rod. And that was giving it all i got!
  7. Love throwing t-rig worms of all sorts. My favorite ia a 7 inch sweet tater pie stik-o in vegetation.
  8. I would love to know the different depths vs line type. Ive never fished off a boat with a depth finder so i never know what exact depth im fishing. I know a 10xd with 20lb pp and a 75 yard cast will dive to just this side of china it seems like.
  9. I tell you what, i hang around here long enough i may learn something lol. Thanks for the feedback guys
  10. Ive been eyeing some shooter on the american legacy website.
  11. Thank you! Another hoosier here as well. Nice to see someone from at least the same state.
  12. I think youre correct, its coming down to personal preference on what type of line i like to use for the water i fish. Not to change subject but can the same leader knot be used on copolymer as on fc
  13. These last 2 years i have been fishing more and more. Pretty much quit hunting deer to hunt largemouth. After much research early last spring, i put flouro on all my setups besides my spinning rod, by may i had switched to all braid with fc leaders if needed. Loved it. This winter i got a wild hair and and bought enough p-line cxx to stretch from Southern indiana to mexico lol. Now i have braid in my cart on ebay about to switch back again...am i crazy or am i just a fisherman that is exploring my options? Also the reason behind the next possible switch is because i feel like there is to much spring (stretch) in my rods when throwing a jig, flipping, or just a t-rig.
  14. Go to ebay and type in fake oakleys. Cheap cheap! And they work just fine.
  15. I build toyota suvs. Is it satisfying? Eh... it pays the bills, keeps insurance on my family, has a good pension program, and satisfies the bait monkey from time to time. I have a degree but never used it.
  16. Thats what it was. They were smoother reeling. I have debated on "upgrading" my orra winch. But dont have enough reason to do so.
  17. Im amazed at the 22 lbs of drag! Lol. I thought 13.2 in my tatula was a good amount.
  18. I prefer 3/8 with a 5/0 hook. I like a little heavier weed guard juat for the fact that if i need to pitch to heavy cover i can and fish it like a normal jig.
  19. It definitely adds some strategy to the tourney.
  20. Went out this morning for 2 hrs to a local pond. 2 on the fogy, 1 on the jig, 5 on the wacky rigged drop shot.
  21. Maybe even a swim jig depending on water clarity. Rage tail menace or keitech as a trailer.
  22. They run a bit heavy compared to their power ratings, maybe half a power heavier than what it says it is (which i like). I use mine to throw 1/2 to 1 ounce jigs, and if i have to throw a frog id do it on this rod as well.
  23. I threw a weighted senko before i fished a weightless. And still prefer weighted to this day. I would fish it like a normal t-rig. 1/8 to 1/4 ounce weight and just hop it off the bottom, reel in slack, hop hop, reel. Since they are very slender they are great for flipping into cover since there is no appendages to get caught up on. Have also fished it on a weighted swimbait hook with some success. Good luck on your tourney!
  24. Ever thought about a lews tp1 speed stick? I have many models of them. I love my 7'3 H. The winn grips are nice too.
