  1. Welcome to the club. My favorite rod, have two of them. You won't find anything as beautiful as a P5. Unless of course we are talking about our spouses.
  2. BTW, I'm not even sure why but I seem to have a large desire to buy a Conquest. Which is very odd because I have two NRX+ rods that I don't even really like. I'm expecting (hoping) the Conquests cast much better. The rods I LOVE are Megabass P5's, however all of the models I have are for throwing treble hooks. Like you, I want a high end rod for swim jigs, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits. Might have to get two combos though, IDK.
  3. Thanks for the info. Yeah I normally don't pay full price for rods. Most companies work with me.
  4. Forgot to ask, where did you order the Conquest? Many places don't have them in stock. And if you don't mind me asking, did you pay full price? I'm sorta picky but I'm hoping for free shipping, no sales tax, and a slight discount. LOL
  5. My personal success has been: Swim jig > spinnerbait > chatter Mostly because that's what I throw the most/least. I've seen some big girls caught on them so I need to try it some more.
  6. What are you gonna throw on it? Let us know your thoughts on it. I still need to get something figured out myself. THANKS!
  7. Ain't no way I'm gonna listen to music and possibly scare the fish away. I take this chit way too serious. I'm 3/4 crazy so I mostly just talk to myself out loud. That or talk to the fish and animals.
  8. Eye am two stupid, why wood eye use this? What's the porpoise? Knot kidding.
  9. Just my paddle, that's all I got. It's a PITA sometimes but it sure beats the shore.
  10. Interesting. Do you think bass will gravitate towards the dirtier water when it's really cold? Assuming it's not like crazy crazy dirty. OK back to work I go. 43 days until 4/15. Not that I'm counting...
  11. If I can see good and depending on the trail, tip can be behind or in front. Now I normally stay well after dark when I fish. So tip is ALWAYS behind me when it's dark. OK that sounded weird.
  12. Well, can't say I've ever fished a T Rig other than a free rig. I've been wanting to throw some 10" worms but haven't yet. That will get done this summer. I should probs buy some creature baits or whatever you call them and give it a shot. I'll fish a football jig with a soft plastic trailer behind it. Not sure the advantage or disadvantage between the two.
  13. My "family motto" that I've preached to my kids since they were young. They could all sight this word for word I'm sure. Work hard. Save money. Buy nice things. Take good care of them. With that being said, I've bought some very nice combos (aka tools) the last few years. And yes, I take very good care of them. If you want to call it careful, sure, I'm careful with them. But that's not holding me back from going anywhere or catching fish.
  14. Thanks for the replies.
  15. Thanks for the info. They did say the water was pretty clear which can make it tough.
  16. I was wondering myself. Who knows what will happen. There's a 10% global tax now. My bank account is better off WITH the tariffs as it controls my Japanese spending. LOL
  17. Hopefully they do great. As we are all CONSUMERS, we want as much competition as possible.
  18. Anyone ever fish this lake? I just got out of a meeting with some clients who have a place on this lake and offered me a "come up anytime" offer. THANKS
  19. Yes and no. In Iowa, the majority are PRIVATE. So you need to know someone.
  20. I don't like how my boys always say the word "bro" but I'm going to borrow it. Bro, get a kayak. So many things open up with a "simple" kayak.
