  1. Finding a good spinnerbait seems like an impossible task right now. Never heard of these before but they definitely pass the looks test. Might have to pick one up.
  2. @Kayak Koz How many fully rigged combos can you put in that case?
  3. Dang. I was trying to think of a word to describe those. Pigs didn't seem right. I'll go with SOWS.
  4. I googled "Bomber Prop A". Seems a little aggressive bro.
  5. No clue, first order with them. I’ve always used JLS until the tariffs. I didn’t request it I’ll tell you that. Not worried about Porch Pirates here in small town Iowa.
  6. I'd have a cool order to show but Digitaka's shipment required a signature and now I have a door tag saying they missed me. Supposed to say when they will try to deliver again and/or a location where I can pick up myself. However NOTHING is marked on this thing. The guy left it blank. So I'm left here with zero info. UGH.
  7. Dang that's awesome. Enjoy those kids as much as you can. Mine are 16, 20, and 24. 😢
  8. Memories! Is he sitting in the back of yours???
  9. My dad has 80 acres of timber that is chuck full of turkeys. I bought a shotgun probably 15 years ago and some decoys and haven't sat 5 minutes out there. Maybe I should give it a go one of these years.
  10. Dang good fish! That water just looks like amazing smallmouth fishing. I'm curious, what is the wooden structure in the above picture? Once again, nice fishing!
  11. Judging by your dance moves, I'm assuming you woke up with a pretty good headache. Congrats!
  12. That's what you get for not having state income tax! LOL I'm sure they get you somehow though.
  13. One thing I’ve learned from doing a lot of tax returns, there are some people that make a TON of money. Although it seems ridiculous and foolish to drop a grand on a reel handle, to some it’s “nothing”. Crazy where the fishing industry is going. I blame Covid and social media.
  14. Got out on Thursday, the day right after the tax deadline. With the large amount of rain we’ve received I figured the water would be fairly dirty. Sure enough, my hunch was correct. Not chocolate milk dirty but definitely stained. Brought 7 rods rigged up, expecting to throw 4 the majority of the time: spinnerbait, chadderbait, lipless crank, and a squarebill. Grabbed the rod with the chatter first. SECOND cast of the day, 20 yards from where I put in, FISH ON!!! Rod is bending hella good, and then I see her. “That’s a 5 pounder! Oh my that’s my PB!!!” I get her right next to the kayak, I’m trying to get her into the net, she’s thrashing. My left arm, holding the rod, can’t seem to get extended enough for me to reach her with my right, and then she’s gone. Just like that. BAD.NET.JOB. Lost my PB. She was 99% caught. The rod did its job. The line did its job. The lure/hook did its job. The net and net man failed their jobs. I almost had her in it. But almost doesn’t get my hands on her. Almost gets me shoulda woulda couldas. First day out, second cast, lost 100% my PB. Anyways, ended up landing around 5-6, can’t remember. One very nice 18” 3 pounder. A solid 16”. Most were nice fish, only one that was small. Largest was caught on a squarebill, the rest on a spinnerbait. It was a day that had extreme highs and extreme lows. Mostly lows. Lost my PB. Lost probably $60 worth of lures. Backlashed 3 rods. Broke my measuring trough. Driving home I felt defeated and I was trying to find some positive out of the day. I told myself that I was alive, and for the most part healthy. There’s many that can’t say that. I thanked the Lord for giving me the chance to get out on the water and enjoy what I love to do. Thanks for reading. HS
  15. Man if I knew they would hit topwater I'd get a combo ready. Might be a little cold for that up here right now. IDK, I've never really fished this early in the season.
  16. Yeah I have no clue what the water temp is or anything for that matter. I'm gonna bring a handful of rods and a small bag of baits and wing it. Will just be nice to get out. Hopefully catch something with decent size.
  17. Dagnabbit another lipless vote. Can't build confidence with a bait if you never throw it. I'll add it to the arsenal.
  18. There's only three knots this guy knows how to tie and it all depends on the line: Braid - palomar Mono - improved clinch FC - double pitzen
  19. I have some pink wacky worms but have never fished them. For some reason I don't throw wacky's anymore. I guess I mostly fish Neko rigs now on spinning.
  20. Yeah those would be good additons. Two baits I have no confidence in though. LOL Never caught a fish on a lipless and have caught fish on a chatter but seem to do better with a spinnerbait or swimjig.
  21. You 100% should be. I don't have a lot of years chasing green bass, but your PB sure beats mine!!!!
  22. I'm heading out tomorrow for the first time. What have you been throwing folks? It's been raining a bunch here in Iowa so I'm assuming the water clarity won't be the best. Thinking a spinnerbait might be my first choice. I like jerkbaits and cranks in colder water but not sure if there's not much clarity. Can't wait!!!!!!!
  23. Nice going JoeChevy! If I don't have too many beers tonight my journey starts TOMORROW!!!!!!
