Square Bill Crank Baits In Clear Water ?
I'm still not clear on why you think they don't work as well in clear water??? I've read a lot of fishing info and have never come across that. Ever. Can you point me to where you got that info??

Anybody Got Purchase Plans Over Winter?
I don't have any purchase plans but then again I also didn't plan on purchasing a jerkbait specific rod which is now on it's way to my home.....

Square Bill Crank Baits In Clear Water ?
I've never heard of only throwing squarebills in stained or muddy water. I use them in all water conditions. In clear water I tend to lean towards very chrome or mirrored colors. I've tried the silent ones in clear too but haven't had much luck with silent.

Peg boards
I prefer to keep my extra stuff in cardboard boxes on shelves in the garage....... Why? If they were on peg boards in plain view my wife would know how much stuff I have.........lol

fall fishing in no shad lakes
I don't know for sure but they seem to have the hooks positioned a little more behind the lure body while reeling so a bit less weed prone. It could just be in my head though. I tend to go Shad Darker color like bluegill Chrome I follow that type of thinking with all my crankbait type lures.

2020 Tatula SV tw Take a look inside.
I have all Tatula SV TW's and Elites, I really need to learn how to service them beyond the basic oiling. I'm afraid of taking it apart and never getting it back together again.

fall fishing in no shad lakes
I fish several places with no shad but other baitfish. Not only do I follow the same shad based patterns, but in all of those lakes but one shad color is the one that works the best.

Selecting rods. $$ vs need.
If you really think fishing a bottom contact jig with a $50 rod feels the same as a $300 rod you either have never tried it with a $300 rod or you are an amateur that hasn't yet developed the ability to tell the difference.

Selecting rods. $$ vs need.
I've liked almost every rod I've owned, until I bought a better one.......lol

Selecting rods. $$ vs need.
Fishing is the only activity I'm aware of where those with higher end gear appear to be the ones that need to defend themselves.......lol Looking at overall cost possibilities I'm about in the middle on what I spend for a rod. I can tell you this..........my $300 rods are better than my $200 rods, which were better than my $130 rods. Better sensitivity, better quality build, more consistent actions.... I'll hang up and listen for the "You can catch just as many fish on a $50 rod" and the "It's not the equipment it's the person using it" posts......haha

Braid, Baitcasters, And Snapping Line On the Cast
I've thrown jerkbaits on a baitcaster with 30 pound PP and Sufix for years. No issues at all. No line dig.

Need some fall fishing advice
I'll throw jerkbaits wherever they won't get caught up in weeds. It's just about prime jerkbait season here. Another couple of weeks.

Need some fall fishing advice
I went out yesterday.....very windy, air was cold but the water was still mid 60's, Tried a spinnerbait with no luck, underspin with no luck, lipless was the ticket. It's a quarry with a ton of humps, drops, edges and the beauty of a lipless is using the same one for pretty much any depth.
-
Need some fall fishing advice
Windy day, I'd throw a spinnerbait first, then an underspin if they weren't hitting that. Early I'd look for shallows next to deep water, preferably with some weedlines. Later I'd look at deeper water close to the shallows......lol

Frogs taking on water
I've used a lot of brands, they all seem to take on water. The older they are the more they take on.

Buzzbait rod..anyone trying a long rod?
I throw buzzbaits on a H/fast 7'4" rod. I used to throw them on a MH/fast but one outing last year used it on a whim and really liked it.
