  1. I use 20 lb, 30 lb, and 65 lb depending on the application.
  2. Keitech Swing Impact Fact.......size will depend on the size underspin I'm using. I vary between 3.3, 3.8, 4.3
  3. I have a new Garmin 73sv Echomap UHD that replaced a Lowarance Hook2. Of course the Garmin is newer and the images are much better. As to how it compares to other brands of the same generation I have no idea. I have a feeling that this thread will give you a lot of opinions and that they won't help.....lol Just like the best rod/reel threads. The beauty is that with today's technology you won't be disappointed.........until you see tomorrows technology.
  4. Yes it can. As I said earlier I use it most of the time....I'd say the 3/8 oz jig is like the MH/Fast rod of the jig world. Most versatile.
  5. 90% of my jigs are 3/8 oz. I use them 99% of the time. From a foot deep to 15-20 feet deep.
  6. I also prefer the R bend. I tend to get the line all messed up in the twist sooner or later........usually when I'm on a hot bite and am in a hurry to get my spinnerbait back in the water........lol
  7. The transition seems to be a little behind this year for me. Water is still around 60 once the sun comes up. I'm thinking another week or two and I'll be wearing out my jerkbait rod.
  8. The jig and the terminal box are the two best out there for their applications.
  9. I can't answer that as I've never used one. I moved up to the H/Fast for my buzzbaits on a whim one morning and really found I just preferred it. I usually only use moderate tapers with treble hook applications.
  10. I throw spinnerbaits and chatterbaits on my Orochi XX Spec R. I use my Perfect Pitch for buzzbaits.
  11. Same here. Being a kayak fisherman I usually bring 6 or 7 rods. I have ten total rods, seven different types. I have three different reels to go with those rods and the third one is only because it's a spinning reel otherwise I'd have two different types.
  12. I also feel rods are more important. I can tell you that when fishing jigs on a less expensive rod I am sure I missed fish that I never knew I had.
  13. I have a nicely set up Bonafide with a Bixby motor, well laid out for fishing and love it. Now I'm fighting the urge to replace it with the Old Town Autopilot 120..............
  14. Seems like it would be easier to buy some wake baits rather than maybe completely screw up an existing squarebill.
  15. I'm partial to the Reaction Innovations Spicy Beaver.
  16. Quick turn of the reel to take up any slack and set the hook.
  17. That sucks.........
  18. I now have seven Orochi's and haven't broke any. I did break two Levante's which were covered in their recall.
  19. Jigs........Arky and swim jigs paired with craw trailers and paddletails.
  20. Just by looking at the titles of their video's I'm amazed by how many "unintended" altercations they get in. On the water, on the shore, in hotels, in airports............but I'm sure it's innocent and they didn't mean it..........lol How that became a badge of honor is a mystery to me.
  21. I doubt he'll be back.
  22. Unfortunately I see it on FB pages where people come on asking for stuff, they're starting out, it was stolen, etc. and then they sell whatever is donated to them as part of their scam. Not saying that's happening here but you never know.
  23. I'm pretty sure he meant send him equipment...........
  24. I'm in a kayak so I can usually get most of my lures back. The few times I've used a lure retriever it usually ends up down there with the lure.....lol
  25. I firmly believe that the quickest way to become a better fisherman is to get over your fear of losing lures.
