Is there a reason you didn't mount it to the underside of the pod? I have mine mounted on the pod, as well as the Garmin itself, battery is inside the pod. Very clean, simple, and effective.

I don't mind so much until this time of year.....it's not as easy to head out on the water when the air temp is in the 30's.

What do you consider being two tier levels up? Are you going by cost? In the $200 range I really like the St. Croix Avids, in the $300 range I'm an Orochi XX guy all the way.

Because the thrill of seeing the bass take the bait is top notch. I've given up on Whopper Ploppers though. I get the occasional bite but do much better with wake baits for whatever reason. I actually took the Ploppers out of my crate to eliminate the temptation of thinking, "This time they'll be on fire" LOL

Does anyone recall if TW includes electronics in their Black Friday sales? I'm looking to upgrade my Garmin.

Do you fish slop? If so I'd add a heavy fast. If not I'd add another MH/Fast.....due to it's versatility.

Mine hangs on the back wall of my garage, the electronics go in the basement.

I tried flouro on a couple of outings last year. Couldn't stand it. Maybe I would have liked it more if I spent more time with it but I couldn't find anything wrong with my braid to invest the time.

Being in a kayak and trying to limit my rods to 6-7 rods.........they are all braid. Used to use leaders and didn't notice a difference. I do use a short mono leader on treble bait hooks because it's not as limp as braid and lessens hook fouling. I even use braid on my only spinning reel that I use for wacky and dropshot.

I also use half finger wool gloves.......they have a thin leather palm sewn in too. I have had them so long I don't even remember the brand.

I'm with you.........bass sees lure, or also hears lure with hooks, rattles, wobbles, but hears the braid and goes the other way........doubt it.

I can tell you their paddletails are too stiff for my liking. I haven't used any of their other plastics but love their crankbaits.

All the bass I've caught using straight up braid from 20 lb test up to 65 lb test either didn't hear it or didn't care.

I keep fishing until ice covers the water so I can't put my kayak in.

I can easily bring up to nine rods with my in my 12.5 foot long, 35 inch wide kayak. That being said I bet you could easily fit more rods in your boat if needed. Unless you have them socially distancing......

I'm fighting the urge to replace the Bixby on my kayak with an XI3 with Spot Lock. Oh how much easier things would be.

Jigs, I feel that jig fishing requires more sensitivity and feel than other baits such as cranks or topwater.

Put another one down for jerkbaits and jigs. Both swim and bottom contact jigs.

If the thunderstorms miss me tomorrow morning I'm going out with seven rods, a swim jig, and underspin, and an Arky/craw make up three of them.........

My absolute favorite way to catch a bass is with a jig. Is it because I catch most of my big ones with a jig or do I catch most of my big ones with a jig because I use jigs a lot??? Who knows.......lol
