Garmin Striker 7SV question...
I love mine. I have the 93sv UHD with the GT54 transducer. I'm eyeing the GT56 transducer though. I was looking at this or the Lowrance but the touchscreen and smaller transducer were the final factors. Of course if I get the 56 the transducer size will go out the window. LOL

Garmin Striker 7SV question...
I've got the touchscreen on my Bonafide SS127 and use it a lot. I have the four presets set to my favorites but usually only switch which view I'm using depending on the lake. The only issue I've had with the touch screen is when I'm in the menu system and going through choices and adjustments quickly sometimes the system pauses while it catches up to me.

Zodias / Diablo or Braillist
I have Orochi XX's in both Braillist and Diablo SpecR'. I used to use a Braillist for bottom contact jigs as well as swim jigs and chatterbaits. I now use a SpecR for the swim jigs and chatterbaits and prefer it. It's got a little softer tip which I prefer for the moving baits yet it still has the backbone and action for those big single hook sets.

Best line on Amazon?
Free shipping from TW over $50 too. And that doesn't take many spools to get to $50.

Go-to saying before setting the hook
I don't think I say anything........but, afterwards it's an F bomb in the following conditions. If I miss the set If it's really big If it's really little

Flash in muddy water
I tend to worry more about skirt color when I'm grabbing a bladed bait. Most of my spinnerbaits are silver blades, the ones that are copper are one copper one silver. In all honesty when it comes to chatterbaits I can tell you what color head/skirts I have but saying what color the blade is would be purely a guess.

Are DC Reels Really Bad for Beginners?
Personally I feel nothing beats a bit of practice with a BC reel. I taught my son to cast pretty quickly. Spool tension up a bit more than normal, brakes almost maxed, a heavy jig. As he got comfortable the brakes got turned down. When he got to a lighter lure the brakes were turned back up a bit. By the end of the day he was casting like a pro. And, OMG! He was using 30 lb braid! Egad! LOL Embrace the fear!

new Garmin 93sv
For the last few years I've run my FF out of water while I'm going through settings and setting things up. Not for hours but for 30 minutes or so. I've never given it a second thought nor have I had issues. Yes, with the transducer attached.

Lowrance vs HB vs Garmin for Tournament Kayak Bass & Crappie fishing
Haha, I didn't think I'd use the QuickDraw much either. I fish a lot of quarries that don't have maps or are based on many, many years ago before they even had water in them and aren't accurate. Not only do I use it all the time, I use it on less popular bodies of water where the maps are not very accurate. I also find that damned reservoirs change a lot over the years from the time they were originally mapped. Once you have the Garmin QuickDraw is free so use it!

Is there anything wrong with having 3 identical setups?
When I first got back into fishing I had two identical setups that became four. When I bought my first H/Fast for frogging I figured out the advantage to having specific setups. I still go out quite a bit with doubles, being in a kayak I limit myself to 6-8 rods but I always have two Orochi XX Spec R's and two Braillist's. Not three the same but pretty close.

Taco or roto paddle clip for Pelican Catch 100 kayak?
In my experience the taco grip will be a bit more secure, especially if you have only one contact point. I've used both. The taco grip got sold with a past kayak. I currently use two Rotogrips to hold my paddle but it's also a completely different setup this time around.

You Are Hung In A Tree? Pull Up To The Bank And Get It Or No?
Trees and branches above water yes, try not to get stuck. Wood under the water........if you're trying not to lose lures in there you're missing fish. Once you accept the fact you will lose lures to snags your fishing will improve.

Swim jig bad with grass...?
I've used both Dirty Jigs and Siebert swim jigs to rip through grass. Sometimes it can be aggravating but it is one of my go to methods early to mid morning in summer. I've won the Big Bass pots in two tourney's with that exact method.

BPS buys SW.
I liked BPS for fishing items, Cabela's for hunting items. After the merger the Cabela's near me flat out sucks. Low/no stock, not so helpful staff,.........I hope it doesn't go that way for SW.

Light 12v battery for powering fishfinder in kayak
Pretty much any lithium battery will save you weight. I used a Nocqua for two years but last year went with an Amped Outdoors 18ah battery for my Garmin. Love it....both weigh next to nothing.

What’s the lightest braid I can spool on baitcast reel?
I use 20 lb for my crank and jerkbait rods without issue, 30 lb for everything else. Well except frogging and punching.

New Main Line You Want To Try Next ?
I've used PowerPro and 832 for years........ My plan was to try a spool of Smackdown but with the sales at TW my plan went out the window and I'm trying five spools of Smackdown.

Duct seal'd transducer came loose in kayak hull (again)
I don't use that method with my kayak but I'd think anything using an adhesive type attachment to plastic is going to have issues in the cold.

When and where do you throw small hard swimbaits?
Yes, to both. I fish a lot of quarries which make for some nice large flat areas that be large or small.......and they are fairly old so a lot of vegetation with some bare spots. I will retrieve over the tops of grass but like to get it out over the bottom openings and long the edges, same as I do with other moving baits in those areas. I actually tend to use swim jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits much more though.

When and where do you throw small hard swimbaits?
I had some success using the S-Waver on flats early morning. I don't have much success with them though. Part of the reason could be that I don't use them enough.

Garmin 93sv
I've gotten into the habit of mapping lakes that already have maps. You never know how old the original is so it can't hurt. I've found some nice structure doing that.

Garmin 93sv
Yep, I forgot about that........there's times I'm fishing on land.......lol It's not off by much, and usually only when I'm in steep sided quarries, but it is off.
