I had to teach myself bass fishing because all me and my father did was catch sunnies. The only lure he uses for bass are rooster tails. I'm glad you and your daughter had fun!

I use the Pit Boss and have found some success with it. Never tried the others but after reading these comments I just might.

I feel the most comfortable reeling with my left hand for both spinning and baitcasting reels. However, I forced myself to learn how to use both.

I don't usually have bass hang themselves up unless I act like an idiot and let them get hung up. Get a stiffer rid and you can horse them out before they get stuck.

For some reason the fish at lake Norman, NC really love the shakey head. A drop shot is still a go to on very pressured ponds.

The only reason I'd catch that fish is if I snagged it. They don't get that big by biting everything that passes by. Good luck, though.

I really like putting a fluke on my chatterbaits. It makes them look perfect in the water but you need to put superglue on them to keep them on the bait.

Is it possible to learn to skip with a cast like that?

Anyone know some good molds for soft plastics? I'm tired of throwing away my ripped up baits.

I always use a rubber net during tournaments.

Thanks for all the help! I caught about 25 bass with each one weighing 2+ pounds. I used a buzzbait for most of it but caught some on a spinnerbait, popper, and pumpkinseed fluke.

Since it is in all the reels, maybe it is in the way they are stored? Chemicals in the garage can sometimes ruin my fishing stuff.
