  1. Not looking so good for me, Markets are a bit shaky and I may need to keep my butt on the trading seat. Bill Gross is ticking me off, although he is right!
  2. The FRENZY continues!
  3. Nothing beats the stealth approach and peace of a Kayak, NICE FISH!
  4. I second the Olympus it takes great pictures when I need. With my new iPhone and Otterbox though I have been to lazy to use the camera.
  5. Glad to hear you had a great time out there!
  6. Thanks, I know I can run from the Twenty Mile Bend ramp around the back and cut in where I want to fish, but I'd like to be part of the party at the Boca ramp! I have a jack plate and can have my bring my nose cone up to about even with my boat's bottom before water pressure drops below 10, weeds are an entirely different story though.
  7. Boca, I was wondering if it is possible out of the Boca Ramp to run all the way West to the western most flats and cut back into the main canal to fish the water control structure before the big turn North. I am worried that I can't run the flats even at wide open since the water is so low without losing water pressure and coming off plane or bottoming out. What's your take? Should I leave the Ranger home and run the jon boat? If so Shane I am following YOU
  8. East wall is spectacular also. I lost a bigger bass on a lipless crankbait on the outside edges, the darn thing bulldogged under the boat and the motor jack didn't want to horse'em out on mono, must have exchanged notes with your fish. Did your 11 yr old catch the fever?
  9. Really, I have the new Firefox 4 and its much faster.
  10. Happy Anniversary, will make it a point to eat there next time we are down in Lantana area.
  11. Mike, He really put that rod to good use, swore I just saw you at BPS with the kids running around. Love the part where you mention the alligator swimming right at you and your son goes into high alert.
  12. Big fish from next day's trip!
  13. Been there done that, spilled JJs on the bottom of my non-skid deck boat and my catch ratio has gone up. Must be the JJs!
  14. Some "oil bath" bearings are COMPLETELY FULL others are HALF or MORE FULL, so make sure you consult with your boat manufacture, trailer manufacture, or bearing manufacturer. I have a Ranger that uses the Cool Hub system with a viewing window, my particular bearing requires that the ENTIRE bearing be filled up. I used high temperature thread compound to make sure the plugs don't leak, read the instructions on that too it has a cure time. Here is a video of how to service Ranger Boat's Cool Hub System.
  15. What slonzp said! For clean up you can get a bucket of water and baking soda and pour over entire area, watch in bubble and repeat, make sure you have aired out your garage. Finish up with a fresh water rinse of area. May leave green like stains on your concrete.
  16. Dave went back out with his son today and caught about 50, but better quality fish with a 7-6 and an 8-8 as anchors, many between 3 and 4. Below is a picture of his son's big fish.
  17. Spinning for light action stuff only and for tree catching guest. Although, in saltwater I use spinning gear almost exclusively than bottom fishing.
  18. I may have a backseat open or will ride with a boater, will know better by the middle of next week.
  19. Went out with my duck hunting buddy, Dave, this morning to see if we could find some of the spectacular fishing the Lake has been offering up lately and all I can say is . Dave and I lost count after about 60 fish and they just kept coming. At one time I had 6 bass in a row from 1 to 3 lbs as we went through too many Big Ezs, Senkos, and Skinny Dippers. We launched out of Government Cut and explored around the area and moved on after finding the water there was about as clear as coffee with extra cream. Ended up fishing around Buckhead Ridge and absolutely SMOKED THEM. Largest went about five pounds, but many fish in the 3lb range especially after switching to the larger Big EZ from the Skinny Dipper. Dave caught the largest of the day using a Senko. The bass are concentrated on the outside edges of the grass feeding heavily and chasing mullet, shad, and whatever they can eat. Lost about a 6lb on a lip-less crank-bait while casting parallel to the grass edge, she jumped twice and then bulldogged into the grass and it was game over. We were out of the water by 1:30 and I think we easily hit the 100 fish mark! Spoke with a couple of guys at the ramp and an "ole timer" said this is the best he has seen the Lake's bass fishery in the past 20 years! Also, spoke with my buddy Jeremy that went out of Clewiston and he ended up with an 8lber, 9lber, and a couple of 5lbers fishing the East Wall. Wish our South Florida get together was on the Lake, cause it is absolutely incredible.
  20. I'll have some sore ribs along with my HOGS!
  21. If we can't fish Lox, than I am most likely out.

  23. 36v systems draw less amps than 24v systems, therefore if you run similar setups a 36v trolling motor will draw less amps over an equal amount of time, thus longer battery life. I have a Ranger 185vs Intracoastal with a Minn Kota Maxxum 74 and it does a good job overall, but there are MANY times especially in Florida where weeds are a factor where I wish I had the extra power of the 36v system. If you have the space in your boat for a 36v system I would go ahead and do it. If you are concerned about weight go with Optima Blue Tops, which are lighter than AGM or traditional wet cell batteries, make sure you have them tested before leaving the store though, heard some horror stories about them being dead from factory. You can also offset some of the weight issues caused by batteries, by using a portable instead of an onboard charger, or modifying your onboard charger to use as an off boat portable. Some of the guys on the tour use Lester (http://www.lesterelectrical.com/products/index.htm) portable chargers to save additional weight and just charge their batteries on the portable. So if you go with 3 Optima Blue Top Group D27M @ 53.8lbs each and subtract the weight of your on board 3 bank charger, lets assume about 15lbs. Than you have a total weight of about 146.4lbs, that is about equal to the weight of 2 typical AGM or Wet Cell batteries (60lbs each) with an on-board charger of about 135lbs.
  24. Post it up Shane, let's see that Frog Assassin!
