  1. Actually we hope it is the former. ;D Ronnie Or at least somewhere in between, ;D
  2. Ditto for me! Stick to the Shimano Line, you'll be more than happy, at around $250 you can't go wrong with Curados, Chronarchs, or Metaniums. By the way don't count out Daiwa and do count out Abu Revo Premier.
  3. Roland Martin makes plenty of attempts at marketing products some are good and some are laughable. Hope his rod is the latter.
  4. I think you'll be OK as long as you avoid tubing in Mr. Gator's or Mr. Bull Sharks territory. Only tubing I'll be doing here in S. FLA is behind a boat with a ski rope.
  5. You guys should really be focusing your hate towards the Gators. They are the dominating Football force in Florida recently and leave your UM/Nole rivalry stuff for the Everything Else forum. By the way I am a Nole and have to give it up to the Canes for all those years of dominance, but when I was there we kicked some Ibis .ss. I think both programs will be back in the National spotlight soon, hopefully with the Noles prevailing faster. Scalp'em!
  6. I'm offsetting future global cooling by making a huge carbon foot print now, there is no replacing displacement! Nevertheless, I am sure one of those hydrogen engines used by BMW could be modified to be used as an outboard, plus the exhaust is water!!
  7. What a deal and just in time for summer, go get'em!
  8. Tax refund, what tax refund? Think of it as getting stolen money back. I didn't even freaking qualify >.
  9. Hmmm, if the company with the recording was only smart enough to phrase it this way Press 1 for English Apriete dos para español.....blah blah blah blah Go figure!

  11. Just got my new baby (Ranger 185 Intracoastal) and want to give her a nice coat of wax, so what is recommended are they all about the same or is there a significant difference between them? Also, how often should I wax it? Thanks in advance and tight lines to all!
  12. Welcome fellow Floridian!
  13. Glenn, I will be there with my wife, she has never been to Vegas and she saw the flyer that came in the mail and was like "Let's Go!" Needless to say I jumped on it. Are you staying at the headquarters hotel? Also, I have never been to an Icast are there some good deals on products or is a mainly a showcase with tons of Freebies? Thanks, Rob
  14. Anyone going to the Icast convention?
  15. I see it all the time especially in Florida with all the tourist who have never fished. I use to do tons of pier fishing for Snook when I was a kid and could always tell who the tourist were by the way they held their reels. Anyway, whatever they were having fun and ignorance is bliss.

Caught her in June of last year in Fellsmere, Fl. Weighed 10-2 on Berkley digital scale. Caught her on a Bass Pro Shop's Stick-O Cotton Candy Color. She was holding in deeper water off a road bed. That same day I caught a 7lb. 8lb., and a bunch of 4/5lbs. It was my best fishing outing to date. Syfer, I pulled that mamma out of the spot I took you to, to bad the big'uns weren't biting the day we went.
  17. Thanks all and Micro. I just picked up the boat and I am going to up my liability for sure once I get it registered. Just so everyone knows I went with Ski Safe (Geico) after doing an Apples to Apples with Progressive and some of the others mentioned. Progressive was close behind, but since I have Geico as my auto insurer I received a discount. Also, what do you think I should value the trailer at? Its a Ranger Galvanized 185vs trailer with fold-away tongue and disk brakes. Micro, if I have an umbrella policy for $2 million shouldn't that cover any overages just in case? By the way I only paid $16.8K for the boat, motor, trailer, custom Ranger cover. The darn thing is immaculate and the motor has less than 50 hours. I had a heck of a drive, but it was worth the $320 worth of gas to pick it up in N. Carolina from Florida. 2003 Ranger 185 Intracoastal Edition.
  18. I called Geico up this evening and asked for a boat insurance qoute, for my future boat (Ranger 185 Intracoastal/ w 150 Yammy). They qouted me $388.85 for the year, based on the following Boat Value: 16.5K Trailer Value: 1K Medical Payments: 10K Liability: 25K Deductible: $500 Includes Uninsured Boaters Personal Property: $2.5K ($250 Deductible) State: FL How does this qoute compare to fellow forum members? Any suggestions on Progressive or other insurance companies I should try? Thanks
  19. Great man, I've fished some places of I-95/Turnpike that are loaded, but never over 50 or so, I am jealous!!!
  20. No picks, but in college I had two ball pythons named Lucy and Lucifer. Tried everything to get them to breed, but to no avail. Would love to get my hands on a pied ball python or a spider pattern one, but they are bit too expensive
  21. I use to work in a optometry office and have literally tried just about all glasses (Maui Jims, Carreras, Oakley, Costa Del Mar, Ocean Waves, etc.). As far as glasses the lens material makes the MOST difference, glass is better than Cr-39 (Plastic), or Polycarbonate (A high impact plastic), but there are trade-offs since glass is heavier. Also the more swept the lens is the more optical imperfections can exist as your eyes move away from the center point of the lens, glass is more optically perfect than any plastic. Polycarbonate is more scratch resistant followed by Glass and Cr-39. For fishing in open water in bright conditions stick to a grey lens or a grey lens with blue mirror. For fishing in low light conditions, shallow water, or extra cloud cover you can't go wrong with a amber lens with no mirror. If its a bit brighter than a green mirror is nice. I personally like the Costa Del Mar, but the Maui Jims are nice also, Oakley's are cool, but the hinges aren't usually very good and the warranty leaves much to be desired. The most versatile model of Costa del Mar for fishing are the interchangeable models I have a pair of Tropic Stars that are great and cover just about all conditions you'll experience while fishing. Here is a link: http://www.costadelmar.com/store/BVModules/ProductTemplates/Costa%20-%20Product%20Layout/Product.aspx?productid=TS The Cadillac of the Costa Del Mar lens material are the 580 glass lens. I really like the Fathom model in Amber for flats fishing/sight fishing and Gray for all around use. The mirrored lens (Blue/Green) is nice in brighter conditions, but when it gets a bit cloudy there is not enough light penetration and it gets tough to see towards the end of the day. Good luck and thanks for your work for this country!!
  22. Ifishforkeeps, Not to toot Mr. Welcomes horn, but the gentleman is a great guide, knows what he is doing and will put you on fish, he even helped me get on fish and I was on my own boat. If your schedule allows it go to Fellsmere and fish with him. If your fishing the Big O and are committed I had good success with Steve Daniels, not sure if he is still guiding, but he was clear and a great guide.
  23. Am I missing something here? I won the second tourny and haven't received a PM, gift, or communication? You're talking about the Bass Resource Fantasy League, correct?
  24. Had two that sang like Fran Drescher after partying too hard in a smoked filled room! Replaced with a Curado 100
  25. I am pretty sure the majority of the spawn is over.
