Question regarding that 20% off Academy Sports code. Is the code always the same, and they just activate it from time to time? Or does the code change? Also, how do we know when it's going on? Ah, I actually did look at the Deputy. Never fished ALX rods but I'm always willing to try something new. How do you get the 20% off if you don't mind me asking? That's my thought on the Zillion as well. Always hard to pass up a good deal. When you says they fish heavy, are you talking about the Tat or both the Tat and Zillion?

That rod looks like a beaut! But a little more than I wanna pay TBH. Would like to stay under $200 if possible.

I'm in the market for a new Texas Rig worm/creature bait rod. After looking around for a bit, I think I have it narrowed down to these rods. Anybody have any experience with any of these? Dobyns Fury FR 704C. $110 Daiwa Zillion 7'3" med/heavy fast worm/jig rod. Reg. $260, on sale $155 Cashion 7'3" med/heavy fast. $180 Was also looking at Tatula and Zodias rods.

Can't comment on that specific model, but I got the Colt cranking stick and I'm very happy with it. The price point on these are hard to beat.

Yeah, no kidding. I got some more in more natural colors for clear water, but didn't take pics of those.

So, this year is the first time I decided to purchase some 6th Sense cranks/square bills. And I gotta say, if they work as well as they look, I'm gonna be one happy man. These things are a work of art. Not to mention they come with some great hooks. Pictures don't do these paint jobs justice. You have to see them in person to truly appreciate them. Question to those who have been fishing these....how does the finish hold up?

Yup. Technically DeForest. And it was already right next to Camping World (who bought Gander) so that one makes sense. I doubt the Janesville store re-opens. That wasn't one of the nicer buildings.

Nice. The one closest to me (Brookfield) is re-opening. I know they combined with Camping World. Do they still carry as much fishing stuff as before? (not that their selection was on the same level as Cabela's or BPS).

If the water is clear, try more natural-looking cranks. And if the place is highly pressured, try silent or very faint rattle cranks. If I'm sight fishing, I like using a light/white color. If you can see your bait it makes things 10 times easier. One of my favorites is the 3.5" reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver. Make sure you split the larger appendages apart.

Looking at this further, I think that have the wrong info listed. The model # of that rod is that of the 7'3" med/heavy fast action. Also, on Daiwa's official site there are no Zillions listed. Are these being discontinued I wonder?

Nice! I'd pull the trigger on the 7'3 med-heavy jig/worm rod, but it isn't fast action. It's regular. Anybody have any experience with these rods? Is Daiwa's regular action faster than others?
