2007 Classic Winner
I would guess that most of the anglers will have areas for both spots and largemouth. If it's a slow largemouth bite they will get there limit of respectable spots. Then go looking for there largemouth kicker fish.

Favorite plastic on a shakey head?
Reaction Innovations flirt, Zoom finesse worm, GYCB senko (night) Strike King 3x finesse worm is a great bait but it's a pain to rig!!!!! I use a reaction innovation screwed up jig head but with all the talk about the spot remover jig I'm going to need to give them a try.

I will use a black o-ring on my wacky rig when using a senko!!!! When I need to go weedless I will mainly just t-rig the senko weightless!!!!

st croix //// avid or premier cranking stick ???
This topic is the same thing I have been going through. If you want a glass rod the premier is made in a glass but the avid is not. I personally decided on the avid. Now I'm thinking should I spend the other 50 bucks and get the legend tournament? Most my other rods are legend tournaments. Let me add one more to your list!! PREMIER/AVID/LEGEND TOURNAMENT

What's the difference?
My only guess would be that the letter was wrote by someone from the ABA. The weekend angler series had been having problems with there turnouts for tournaments. If they weren't then way did they 1: merge with the ABA 2: lower the entry fees. Did anyone look at the final results from the first tournament in Florida. There were only 28 boats thats only 56 anglers to me thats not a very good turnout. The club I belong to gets that many boats for just a club tournament. Florida has some of the best bass fishing (if not the best) anywhere. There is alot of bass fisherman in Florida and that was the turnout. So are things really going well for the ABA/BASS weekend angler series? There has only been, I believe a couple of tournaments so far in the series. Can they really tell how its going this early? So, for the person not posting thier name you make the call.

fluorocarbon and cold weather
Is there any effect on fluorocarbon line when the weather is cold? I'm talking about temp. in the 30's to 40's.

Florida drop shotting
Avid I think your using the right setup! The weight I use is a round ball or tear drop but i'm fishing lakes with hardly any grass. You might want to try a finesse weight so it slips through the grass easier. The finesse weights are longer and skinnier. When the bass are on there beds try pitching that drop shot onto the bed and then you'll be hooked!!!

Florida drop shotting
Avid Are you drop shotting with spinning or casting setup? In Florida I would use a casting setup with 10lb fluorocarbon or a braid with a fluocarbon leader. I think 6lb might be a little light with all the veg. down in Florida. The casting gear should give you a little more leverage to pull them out of the grass. That CXX is great line you may of just had a fray in the line. I would give the CXX another try and see if it's going to work for you. Nice job on your first drop shot fish!!!!!! Are you hooked on the drop shot yet?

What are your GO TO plastics ?

Classic Predictions
Cabela10 The night we first started talking about the whole Luke Clausen thing I looked on several web searches and couldn't find it either. I would think the field would be set already.

Chatterbait?
It was last years hot bait. They were backed up 1 to 2 months just to get one. I believe that rad lures was the first company. They were selling on ebay for something like $20-$30 each. There like fishing a crankbait, spinnerbait, and a swimming jig all in one. They create a lot of vibration in the water. Some tournament anglers won a couple of tournaments using the bait and it took off from there. Thats the speedy version in a nut shell!!!!!!!!!!

St Croix vs. ??
I think you will be very happy with those 2 rods. I have a PC66MF and it is a little light and a PS60MF I love. All my new rods are legend tournaments and I can't say a bad thing about them. I don't think you can go wrong with St. Croix rods. The hole St. Croix line is a good product: premier, avid, legend tournaments, and the legend elite. I would go to the local candy store (tackle shop) and hold and feel different rods (all the brands out there not just st croix). It will really help you make your decision. Do it with the reels on the rods so you get a true feel. I agree that the Fenwicks are very stiff rods I have a med. heavy that fishes like a heavy. Take a look at reeds sporting goods online. They are having a closeout sell on the premier rods.

palomar vrs clinch..

Classic Predictions
Cabela10, The artical talked about Luke missed the deadline to enter the elite series. After winning the classic he was able to enter and gave BASS his credit card number to reserve a spot in the elite series. A couple of days to a week later he called BASS and withdrew his entry. It had something to do with a injury to his elbow. Many people believe it had something to do with sponsership and of course the FLW. Look at it however you want he is the FLW's poster boy. I think it's a shame that he's not going to fish in this years classic.

Classic Predictions
Cabela10 I think your right!!! There was a big artical in bassmaster last year after the classic. It talked indepth about what you said and why he didn't enter the elite series. The other way he could of qulified for the classic would be to have fished in either the northern or southern tour and finish no less then third. They also talked about he will be only the second person in history to not attempt to defend his title. It was a very interesting artical. Bitman: If he was fishing I would also say Luke Clausen. I'M GOING WITH IKE (if he doesn't have a blow up) or ISH!!!!!!!

Is flourocarbon good on spinning gear?
For deep, clear, rocky lakes it is a must. Line conditioner really helps to prevent twist. P-line or seaguar would be a good choice I have not used vanish or gamma so I can't speak for them. Going to experiment with using powerpro with a fluorocarbon leader with my jerkbaits this year. Deuceu72: How about filling my reels up with some of those 1,000 yd. spools of seaguar INVIZX you picked up this winter!!! LOL
