  1. My partner Rick came up with a pretty ingenious way to mount his seats. He didn't want to butcher the benches, and was worried about using self tapping screws. I took some pics today while he was working on his project. A little "how to" from the Two Crackers. First off, the boat is a 1236 G3. He ordered the 9" round pedestal bases and snap lock seat mounts from Cabelas. Rick made these awesome backing plates at his shop. They are a high tech composite similar to Delrin. They were drilled and tapped for the stainless hardware. These will be flush against the underside of the bench, making the back half of the "sandwich" He cut out a hole just big enough for the backing plates to fit into, after removing some foam. The plates fit inside! You can see how he engineered 4 smaller tapped holes utilizing the smaller screws in order to hold the plates up to the bench. Great idea, because otherwise, how do you get the plates up tight??? Once the base pedestals are in and screwed down, it was time to fill up the void with "Great Stuff" expanding foam. It replaced the foam that was dug out, and provides the extra rigidity. The benches don't flex at all! All that was left to do was pop the seats in place and vacuum up the foam chunks. The seats are really comfy, and if we want them a bit higher, the extensions can be bought. The snap locks are cool because they just pop out with a good tug. Can't wait to get it back on the water! He's the man!
  2. Solid advice from JB. I have the 6'9" MH fast, with a Revo SX and I was just messing around with some cranks the other day. I was very happy with the way they performed together. That being said, I wouldn't really think of a MH fast as a great crank/spinnerbait rod...I was just trying it out because I too cannot afford 12 different combos. Also, if you are in a hurry for the rod (and don't feel like waiting on Cabela's) Simmons Sporting Goods in Alabama has them in stock with super fast shipping. Both of my Carrot Stix were here in 3 days.

  4. I am unofficially withdrawing from the CAST for Kids Ice Out Tournament on the 6th. My sister took it upon herself to choose that very day to have her daughter (my niece) Baptized. I told her I had a fishing event already planned, and, well you know how the women folk can be sometimes. : I'm gonna try to shmooze her a bit... so I still might be able to go.....
  5. Keep trashing it. It will prove itself. I did it to Worden's for a few years, until I whacked a couple 5's and had 5 for 21 pounds in 3 hours. I don't have to, the locals have done it all by themselves. I heard there are some old TV's in the back that hold fish.....
  6. Watch out for those sewer trout. Hope you brought plenty of anti-bacterial soap as well.
  7. Terminator Pro Top Secret http://www.***.com/descpageTERMJIG-TPTSJ.html For trailers I personally prefer Net Bait Paca's, *** Beavers, Zoom and Yum Chunks.
  8. Another reason to stay inside.
  9. It's all good. I could care less right now myself. Works got me down, weather blows, price of gas is the highest ever in Rhode Island. Can't really get motivated to go out for 2-3 hours and maybe catch one. (or maybe not)
  10. I was just about to post those same links lol. Very cool style of playing. 8-)
  11. Nate in the house! 8-)
  12. I'd go back to drag racing if it would pay the bills. Huge industry, but very little money in the Sportsman ranks. Especially for a crew-member.
  13. You should have ordered from Simmons Sporting Goods in AL. Free shipping, and at your door in 3 days. Can't say enough good about them. I got my two Carrot Stix and Revo SX from them. http://stores.ebay.com/SIMMONS-SPORTING-GOODS_W0QQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247
  14. My wife's been a vegetarian for 15 years. If it has a face, she won't eat it. She does cook a mean steak tho.
  15. That's what cardboard is for! ALOT cheaper.
  16. LOL, I don't want to get in a ticking match, cuz we've had this debate before. Instead of posting: "I hate computers." You should have posted: "I hate computers that run Microsoft OS and software." Good Luck, hope you get it figured out.
  17. Evo jig flat out works for me. Caught my PB last year on one, as well as a bunch of quality 3-4lb bass. Haven't used the Cavitron yet, but it has gotten good reviews here on the forum. I always have some Megastrike in the tackle bag, don't have any science to back it up, but sometimes when they are tight lipped it seems like the difference in catching 1 or 2 instead of the ol' skunk.
  18. I have an acquaintance from Door County, that's why I suggested it.
  19. Dude! Sick! Way to go....would be awesome to catch just one of those in New England! I can't believe someone would even suggest that the photos were doctored....wth??? :-?
  20. However, this is perfectly acceptable....
  21. I would not recommend rigging a snake this way..... Or this way....
  22. "NorDoor Customs" ?
