  1. i realy like the look of the spin tail shad. that's the kind of lure you just KNOW will catch fish
  2. my lure > your lure
  3. i have no idea how to fish swimbaits. i hate to admit it, but i have no clue. these baits make me want to learn how.
  4. i'm not sure how much they are, or where you can get them but heres where i found 'em http://www.tackletour.com/reviewstorm2007preview.html p.s check out the stinger hook at the back of the craw shad! aint gonna miss any fish with that lure!
  5. i don't even know what this is
  6. a kinda craw/shad
  7. i caught a glimpse of these new storm lures and they look awesome. has anyone used anything like this? have you had success? how do you use them? etc.
  8. the mister twister 4" twintail grub has always worked for me and i've never missed a fish so i don't use a trailer hook. lately i've been using a berkley powerbait chunk and it's working just as well, only now, i'm catching bigger fish. i'm also experimenting with buzzbait trailers. i've had amazing success using a pearl white fluke on a white buzzbait, and i'm thinking of trying a zoom ole monster on a buzzbait. i'm gonna have to buy some trailer hooks!

zoom. best flukes, best chunks, trick worms, brush hogs. nuff said? use that trick worm on a carolina rig, it'll float right off the bottom. great way to catch big fish

part of fishing is not catching anything. personally, in these conditions, i would be surprised if i did catch something. i recommend senko's, light (!) jigs, and white spinnerbaits with white trailers if you have some. why white? simply because i catch alot more fish when it's cold on a white spinnerbait then i do on a green, or red one. hope this helps
  11. where can you get one of those? they look awesome!
  12. man those ole monsters are BIG baits. it'd be risky using them on a spinnerbait unless you have a trailer hook. i'd like to try this, but i would have to be alone to avoid a " what-are-you-thinking-putting-on-that-big-worm-bass-aren't-going-to-take-that and then after a day of fishing without success see-i-told-you-so-what-were-you-thinking-putting-on-that-big-***-worm " situation. as for the contrasting colours, i would use a red monster on a white spinnerbait instead of a purple one, to simulate a hurt baitfish (or whatever they think it is) with a blood trail. p.s someone try this out and see how it works
  13. the problem with a slow falling jig is that it limits the types of trailers you can use. use anything too big or heavy and it'll sink tail first, and thats not the action you want. i like using a light, slow falling jig with a chunk trailer... likely berkley or zoom.

does this bait work on a carolina rig? i've used it weightless a few times with little success and i'm wondering if it makes a good c-rig bait. thoughts?
  17. i have a lure that's kinda similar to this one, although not nearly as nice, and never had any luck with it. it did have very nice action though. i'm sure this one does too!
  18. I rarely fish a carolina rig so i'm no expert, but i didn't hear any mention of the berkley beast? does anyone ever use this bait on a carolina rig?
  19. i live in ottawa, and the ottawa river and the rideau river are both walking distance for me. both hold bass, walleye, pike, muskie, crappie, lake trout, catfish and carp, the trick is knowing where to fish. if you have a boat, which i don't, you can go to big rideau lake, they have tournaments there if you're interested, or you can go for a day, you'll catch fish. the ottawa is a strange body of water. people fish there, people paddle on it, there's white water rafting all sorts of things, once again, the trick is finding a spot. i myself found a spot during a white water canoeing trip and caught 11 fish within an hour and a half including bass, walleye and catfish with just a worm and a bobber (my bait of choice for moving water) if you're harcore fishermen, i suggest you make a trip for a day to fish a tournament on big rideau lake, and if you just wanna have fun, i suggest you plan a week-long trip and fish the ottawa and the rideau.
