I believe you need separate forms because of the liability release ....

I sell and install electronics. First, part of the reason you hear more problems with Lowrance is the fact that the shear numbers of them out there. We, nor a big dealership that I work with have experienced any major problems. Nor have we experienced any real customer service issues. That being said, I sell and install both brands. The screen size coment is spot on. Most people are happier with SI units with screens 7 in and larger. As far as compairing the units, the menu is easier to learn on the Bird, however, the images are better on the Lowrance. Both are good. The Bird appears cheaper until you decide to add a second unit ..... then the Lowrance becomes cheaper. Buy your equipment from a dealer who cares so that they can help you if you have any problems. Contrary to what you might believe, sometimes the dealer is less expensive than the big box stores and has better support. Where are you in SE Mo?

As far as paper maps go ..... they don't get any better than Atlantic for Kentucky Lake .....

Simp .... I don't know how long it's been since you were at Moors, but the restaurant is pretty darn good these days ..... good enough that we drive up there .... about 25 miles ..... once in a while to get a burger .

Deb and I both work part time at Fisherman's Headquarters. GREAT store .... has all the usual stuff that you migh wand plus a lot of things that you just don't find everywhere ..... Depends on what you want to do with it ... it's a good unit, but will not accept side scan and will not network. The answer to you questions dependson what your future plans are.

The Fury should give you a better hole shot and a little more lift. If you run in rough water, you might want to consider a 4 blade like a Trophy+ .... you will lose a few mph, but will gain a bunch in hole shot and overall handling. Here on Kentucky Lake, we deal with rough water constantly and I run a Trophy+ on my 520. Like night and day over a three blade ....

the "s" in the svx indicates single console. The "vx" in both indicate the VX series .... the top of the line as far as features.

If I had to choose one or the other, I would go with the console. I use it much more there for finding things and deciding whether or not to stop at a spot ....

yep .... most of them are bolted and glassed in .... they can be removed, but plan on some glass repair.
