  1. We t-rig them and c-rig them. usually on a 3/0 EWG. As others have said, try dipping the ends in chartruese. Here on Kentucky Lake the largemouth don't seem to care, but the smallies like the tails dipped.
  2. You might also look at Rayjus Outdoors ....
  3. I think it depends on the body of water .... Navionics Premium and Platinum 2008 and after are pretty much right on for Kentucky Lake and Barkley ...
  4. You'll probably have to pull the front panel to reach the nuts and washers on the underside .... they are thru bolted for the most part
  5. There is generally some very good fishing here in November .... topwater bite lasts all month usually among other techniques.
  6. Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley about 4 hours from there .....
  7. I heard through a pretty good source yesterday .... 10/15 ..... that the ink was put on the deal .....
  8. Fog was not an issue in this case .... nor was the number of boats on the water ..... yes, a lot of tournament boats ... probably upwards of about 1000. The four tournaments launched out of ramps spread over nearly 75 miles. in fact the 2 boats involved came out of ramps 25 miles apart. I know some about this accident based on eyewitness accounts and have my own opinions about what happened and know one of the boaters pretty well.
  9. On Photobucket you can re-size the pics ..... should be an edit button with each pic .... resize them to large .....
  10. Chine walk is part of owning a Triton. you might try going up on the plate a little ..... but watch your water pressure. In time you will no dobt learn to drive the walk. Do a search on chine walk articles to get some tips. Congrats on the new rig !!
  11. Can you view the structure scan on your 8 with both units linked together. Yes they are linked .... we can view SS on both units as well as share
  12. We have an 8 at the console and a 7 up front with Structure Scan .... I haven't been sorry bout the 8. Good size screen, still can split the screen 4 ways, and has the soft keys. Sure the 10 is cool, but we like our 8
  13. Jack I purchased a "tour boat" ... however mine was an oddity. It was only in the water one week for Scott Martin to fish the FLW Championship out of. It had only 18 hours on it and only 12 minutes of that was WOT. It has been a great boat for me. It is my 3rd Ranger. I have enjoyed them all and would by another Ranger the next time. Ranger has been great as far as support, quality, ride, features, and last but not least, resale value. It is not fast ..... but is an extremely stable fishing platform. That being said, there are lots of great boats out there and you have to decide what's important to you. Last time I heard, my local Ranger dealer has a demo up there with a Yammy SHO on it. I'll check if you want .... I'll be up there today. Greg
  14. If you connect the yellow wire on the LSS1 power cord to the yellow wire on the HDS7 power cord it will power up and down with the HDS unit
  15. Cut and leave .... If you are using the right rod and line, you will have fewer of those.
  16. If you had asked this question a week ago, I would have said FLW .... all the way. With the sale of BASS .... that might change
  17. Okay .... first, the Etec came out in 2005. Next, there were some problems with the Ficht engines back in the late 90's ... 97,98. Mostly with the 150's and 175's. Those problems were long gone before 2003. I currently run a 2004 Ficht engine and love it. There was nothing in the day that would make the power of the HO's.
  18. Yep ... Burley is right they come off to check. Heck .... one of mine came off real nice when the battery blew up !!!! Touched the trolling motor pedal one morning and BLAMO !! That will wake you up !!
  19. Yes there is one to fit the newer style round shaft MK
  20. I had one before I upgraded trolling motors. I liked it a lot. more power ... less torque steer. I'm going to pick one up for the new trolling motor soon.
  21. Do you use the toilet paper and the rubbers for the same situation?? :-?
  22. Sounds like minerals and lime from the water. try white vinegar or a lime remover like CLR. Try the lime remover in a hidden place first.
