  2. BTS or BBS .... great products that also contain UV protectors. You'll be surprised how much easier it is to remove the scum line.

  8. If you look around at what older Rangers are selling for .... even on Ebay .... that IS a pretty good deal if the motor is okay ..... ragged out restoration projects are selling that high and higher
  9. The Trilene TransOptic? Sounds good for old eyes. Just wondering how it performs on baitcast gear.

  17. I've got a Maxxum Pro 105 and love it. Have had both MG's and Minnkota's and much prefer the Minnkota.
  18. Had them for 5 years and never unplug them. All are still original evcept one that got a hole in it. It was a sibe light that probably took a rock from the road.
  19. The cavitation plate will be above the pad ..... usually, the center of the prop shaft is gonna end up around 3 inches below the pad or less. A decent prop can create a bunch of lift .... also, you may want to take some of the weight out of the front of your boat ..... especially if you went from 150 hp to 115 .... you lost some weight on the back end and changed the balance.
  20. I would think if you were still 3 inches too high, that you would be overheating
  21. What year is the boat and motor? Have one of the dealers give you the computer printout on the motor. All kinds of info on it.
  22. The big motors ..... 200 hp and up should be fine after 1999 ..... most of the troubles were 150's
  23. It's in the rumor mill that Ranger already has a buyer .... or buyers. It is the money maker of Genmar.
  24. Looks a little high based on the NADA Guide. However, boat values vary greatly by location and you have to take the condition into account. The 520 is a great boat ........
