  1. Lake has held steady about 358.25, but with rain today and heavier rains predicted for Thursday it should be up in the bushes like CJ said !!!!
  2. Try offering your boater gas money before the tournament starts ...... many times it makes for a better day if the boater doesn't think you are gonna stiff him
  3. Food is no big deal ..... here in Kentucky we'll grill anything that walks, swims, or flies !!!! Much like WV I suspect!!!!!!!!! ;D
  4. You should have just come on ............
  5. Old guys .... myself included need our beauty sleep ... right Mike !!!
  6. Deb and I went out for a couple of hours today ..... caught several ..... 20 or so ..... lots of small 12 - 13 inch buck bass and a few good ones mixed in. We have not seen any yellow flower yet ..... CJ says he has, but not where we are. The lake is at 358.25 this evening .... rain forecast for 3 of the next 6 days, so if TVA doesn't open the dam wide open, it should at least hold steady or come on up. we are only 9 inches off full summer pool. There has been decent fish in shallow water for about a week ..... Deb caught 4+ pounder last week in 2 ft of water and if the lake continues to rise they should be more plentiful. Send me a PM or get with me at Kenlake if you want some opinions on eliminating some of the water in this big pond.
  7. Burley .... you could hire us to sneak in quietly on our Harleys !!! ;D
  8. Thanks for the image Brian .... The Bayview Building is at the end of Bayview Rd just out of view

  10. TMI dude ..... Better get rid of that before you come .... you know the way we are here in Kaintucky ..... we ain't got no indoor plumbin !!! ;D
  11. The Bayview Building is on the point that overlooks the main lake. There are 2 entrances into the park (not counting the campground entrance) The lodge and marina are at the west entrance and the Bayview Building is in the east entrance ..... only about 1/2 mile apart. Should make a good place for the dinners. The lake is at 358.13 this morning .... that is less than a foot off of full summer pool. Rain is predicted 2 out of the next 5 days .... should come on up nicely .... maybe even into the bushes if the TVA doesn't drop the bottom out of it. Hopefully, they will let it come on up.
  12. Just a FYI ...... A minister friend of ours holds Sunday service in a floating chapel on the lake at Southern Komfort Resort. That is pretty close to Kenlake .... He started it up for fishermen, boaters, campers, and bikers ..... non-denominational .... VERY laid back ... in fact he will probably preach in jeans and a t-shirt. You can go by road or by boat .... tie up right to it !! If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I'll give you the info. Mods ..... I know we try to avoid political and religious posts .... Glenn suggested that I put this on here
  13. Lake level at daybreak this morning was right at 357 ...... Mainlake surface temperature was 57 .... should continue to rise this week .... of course temps back in the bays and in the afternoon will be in the 60's.
  14. I do a lot of reloading ..... lead prices have gone crazy .... powder has gone up, but not terrible ..... primers have gone up quite a bit, but if you know where to buy them, probanly 25%. I haven't had any problems finding bullets or powder, but primers have been hit or miss. Again, you have to know where to get them.
  15. Way2slow has the right idea .... stir the epoxy slow .... you don't want any bubbles
  16. Here she is gentlemen ..... starts right here where we are standing and runs 182 miles south !!! here's a view of the main lake from Kenlake Kenlake Marina basin all waiting for your enjoyment !!

  20. Speedbead ...... the good news is .... for the last few weeks, we have beat the predictions by a few degrees each day !!!!
  21. The lake is at 356.33 this morning and predicted to be over 357.2 by Sunday. Plenty of rain predicted for the next 10 days, so it may make full pool or over. Main lake water temp at daybreak was 57.43 according to the biological station. You'll of course find surface temps over 60 on these warm sunny days.
  22. In a nutshell, I use flouro on any bait that sinks .... regardless of water clarity. On other baits like topwater that don't sink, I use green.
  23. Thanks Mike and others for the kind words. Deb and I are blessed to wake up every morning to the sun rising over Kentucky Lake. We met on a boat ramp and got married in a floating chapel on the lake. Deb's father commercial fished this lake for years. So, you see our love for this lake runs pretty deep. We did not register for the event partially out of stubbornness for an old issue, but mostly because we were supposed to have out of state company beginning Wednesday morning of that week. We found out yesterday that our company has cancelled their trip and now wish we would have registered. One of the reasons we fish is the fine folks that are involved in the sport. As locals, we want to do anything possible to help everyone have a GREAT and SAFE week here on Kentucky Lake. We hope to meet as many people as possible and do a little fishing. Greg
  24. If there is any weather over 50 degrees I'll be in a t-shirt. I haven't seen anything over 50 in about 5 months. We have been in t-shirts several times ..... got a bit of a sunburn also ;D
  25. Awesome fish Dan ...... well deserved
