  1. I know .... just seemed to be a palomar discussion brewing here !!! sorry to highjack your thread
  2. Ya'll there have been a few articles written on the polamar knot and flouro. the line has to lay just right to keep it from cutting itself .... i'll try to search up one of the articles and post a link.
  3. I bet the knot was the culprit .... has to be lubed real well with the flouro. Some use KVD's line conditioner while pulling the knot tight ..... not me, just good ole spit !!
  4. WPD ... the flourocarbon is real sensitive to how the knot is tied. If you were using a palomar knot that could be the problem. The palomar has to be tied just perfect to hold up. I use a lot of the Vanish myself and have found that to be true. Try using an Improved Clinch knot ..... should hold up better..
  5. Went to Kentucky Lake for the weekend. My intent was to fish the Hot August Night Tournament out of Moors Resort. I had line up a partner last week who had backed out. Lined up a second partner who backed out just a few hours before the tournament. I choose not to enter the tournament as I don't think it is safe to night fish alone. Well I launched that evening to fish a few hours alone and within 1 1/2 hours I had over 20 pounds with one of the fish I believe to be a pb. Of course the batterys were dead in my scale. I learned that a little over 18 lbs. won. I had a great evening, but should have entered the T. Sunday AM early, I made a 25 mile run south down the lake. I caught 4 but not really what I was looking for. Should have saved the gas and went back to where I was Saturday eve. Fun anyway .............
