what do i need to know about keeping bass
X2. We tried when I was a kid a cple times and they just dont seem to make it. I agree that it sounds cool in theory but likely will just end up killing the fish. Lots of cool fish out there that do well in tanks tho so check out some of those. I had piranhas when I was a kid and they were awesome and lived for several years

Motorguide Tour Pro
I'm not sure but it should tell you on each models description. I personally would probably just buy the version without the transducer if I had what I wanted up front already. Im in the same boat and am debating between the ultrex and motorguide tour pro. We just put an ultrex on my buddies boat 3 weeks ago and its nice for sure. The motorguide's head is huge so I'm thinking I may go ultrex for that reason. I also have what I want up front so I'll likely get the standard ultrex. Good luck and let us know how you like it!

Looking for some rod recommendations
That curado k will be fantastic for what you're doing with it and id look into a 7-7'3 med hvy rod. The bps carbonlite rods are nice as are the dobyns fury. Several good options out there!

Big difference in 200 vs 400 dollar reels?
I basically agree with the guys talking about diminishing returns. I fish mostly 150-200 reels with a few 99 dollar reels mixed in. Are the 200 reels better? Yes I would say so, are they twice as good? I don't think so. Id love to justify to myself that I needed 10 shimano bantam mgl or metanium reels but I just can't. Not throwing shade at anyone as their are tons of people who obviously love those reels. I just dont feel like those reels would be anything close to twice as good as what I fish. Couple buddies have metaniums and they are fantastic but not worth the $ for me personally. I always tell guys asking to get in at the 100 dollar aluminum frame point and they should be good. I respect shimano and daiwa for how they do things but I can't honestly say I think they are superior to any of the doyo reels. As has been stated already, when you can get a dc shimano for less than 200 bucks and a daiwa sv reel for the same I don't see a reason to spend any more than that. As the technology improves it trickles down and guys like me reap the rewards. Yes the 400 dollar reels will be a little lighter or a little smoother but not enough to justify the cost. As always tho just my humble opinion and if someone thinks its worth the cost then absolutely go for it.

13 Fishing brand of reels...good to go?
I've had several of the concept a reels and a cple of the inceptions. Was pleasantly surprised by both of these reels. I personally think there are better options at each price point but sometimes you can find the concept a reels for 80-90 on fleabay. Their rods have actually been quite nice for me. I still have 2 of the bright green fate black rods and like them alot. Nice actions and lightweight. Paid 50 a piece and they've surpassed expectations. One of my fishing buddies uses all 13 rods and loves em. Id probably stay away from their 100 and under reels and you'll likely be pleased with em. Tried the concept z as well and honestly couldn't stand it. Felt loose and clunky. Seems some people really like em. Go check some out and see what "you" think.

Broken Megabass jerkbaits
Yes ive broken a couple megabass jerkbaits. Definitely not a good feeling on baits that cost 25 bucks but its a pay to play game with them. Yes they will replace them they'll have you remove all the hardware and send it in and they'll send u a new one. Not saying it shouldn't happen but I've learned to be a little more gentle with them and will continue to use them.

Anyone have the Lew's KVD reels yet?
I was really impressed with how the spinning reel felt. If I needed one id have bought it for sure. Not sure I'd say they're as good as reels costing double but for their price points most lews are fantastic

Stickbaits Brands Comparison
I use yum dingers. Haven't bought a pack of senkos in years simply due to price. The senko i think is still the most effective but I refuse to pay that kinda money when dingers are 3 bucks a pack. I use zoom trick worms and strike kings version. Dont know that I'd say either are better, both are effective. Robo worms are on a different level. I feel like they get bit when others won't. Ymmv

Made some mounting brackets for garmin dash mount
Hey guys just wanted to share how I mounted my electronics on my triton 18tx. I had been just running the one at the console on the ram mount to the right of the console. Bought 2 of the newer model 93sv uhd a month or so ago. Decided to run the new ones for my imaging etc. And keep one of the 93sv chirp models to strictly run for mapping and wanted it right behind the steering wheel. The boat came with a small lowrance flush mounted so I had to remove it. I had a plate cut at my work to cover the hole then had my guy at work draw me up a bracket to mount the cradle to. Took a couple tries to get the bracket right but it turned out amazing. I drilled a hole in the bracket and plate to run my cord thru then installed rubber grommets to prevent cable damage. I'll attach a few pics. It turned out great and already had a guy at the lake wanting to know where I got the hardware at. Sometimes its a positive working in a fab/metal shop. Thanks The first one is before I painted it just checking the fit.

Selling off reels/rods
Basically this for me. Ive changed out reels many times over the last few years. Have a couple that I've held onto for one reason or another. Some because they fit a niche or others because they wouldn't bring enough to be worth fooling with selling. If I know there are ones I'm not a fan of and have found ones I am then those get sold and replaced. Nothing wrong with selling to upgrade. Lotta guys do it every season. I have a buddy that'll buy 10 every season then sell them all off at the end of his season. Do whatever makes you happy!

Daiwa Tatula 100 versus Daiwa Tatula Elite?
Never owned the elite but have had several 100's. Have 1 left thats for sale now thats one of the smoothest daiwas I've had. Thats my issue with them, I've had several and seems like no 2 of em feel and sound the same. Some aren't as smooth as others, some are too geary, make funky noises on casts. Judging from what I've seen on the elites they may be a step above the 100 and sv reels. Lots of guys love em. My buddy fishes probably 15 ct reels and swears by em. Ive slowly migrated to mostly lews and shimano but the braking system on the daiwas is the real deal.

Shimano SLX XT
I own a couple of the xt reels and a few of the regular slx and they're both fantastic. I personally don't see the need for the xt over the regular but some say ite better. Either one will serve your purposes well. The curado k can be had for 150 on fleabay and ite definitely an upgrade. Good luck!

Anyone have the Lew's KVD reels yet?
Haven't owned one but played with both the spinning reel and casting at cabelas. Both felt amazingly smooth for their price points. In sure they will serve you well!

$150-$250 Reel for Heavy cover frog fishing
I've never had a situation come into play personally where drag wqs an issue on any daiwa or shimano and uve owned a bunch. I personally think its over rated but obviously others don't agree. Guess if someone thinks they need it then get one with more. I fish a lot of grass and nasty stuff on several lakes and I usually don't lock down the drag on my shimanos or anything else

More than meets the eye...
Basically every technique I think fits in here. Sure you can tie on most anything and probably catch a couple but to really get dialed in and effective with any technique it takes time and effort. Ive found just reeling a spinnerbait or a rig gets bit, but pausing and twitching occasionally gets way more bites. Changing the fall rate and profile of a jig can make or break the bite. Color can have zero effect and also be the deal breaker on most things. Over or under working a jerkbait can make a big difference. You get the point. Only time on the water can let you figure all these things out

New Baitcaster Is Stiff
All my shimanos were that way out of the box. Theyll loosen up with use. Just got a curado in today and its that way but after playing with it for a few minutes it loosened up quite a bit. Its nothing to worry about

Berkley Cutter
Basically my thoughts. Tried a couple last year and they're decent for their price. I have several visions so they don't get much play. For the money I'd give em a chance at least. I think personally it's a confidence deal. Whatever you happen to be throwing when they want a jerkbait is gonna seem legit. Just seems like the visions get bit when others won't. Never gave the cutter enough of a chance im sure because my confidence is elsewhere
