Since I mainly fish from the bank I only bring 2 combos(1 MHF baitcaster for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, hollow body frogs, jigs and jerkbaits/crankbaits and 1 MF spinning rod for Texas rigged weightless/weighted worms, creature baits, wacky rigs, Carolina rigs or any other lighter rigs) with me and a tackle bag. I only own 4 combos 3 spinning and 1 baitcaster. On the rare occasion I get to go out on a boat I'll take all 4. Haven't fished any tournaments yet, but would really like to fish in an amateur tournament some day. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do that soon.

I grew up fishing, but around age 13 I got my first drum kit and lost interest in fishing. My son was born when I was 27 and unfortunately I wasn't back into fishing yet. Needless to say he never really got into it. At age 45 I got back into fishing, mainly bass fishing and I've tried to get my son, he's 18 now, to go fishing with me. It's like pulling teeth...lol. I did get him to go with me a couple times, but we didn't catch anything. I'm 46 now and fishing is all I wanna do. I'd really like to fish in an amateur tournament and hopefully I'll get a chance soon. Maybe one of these days my son will be interested in fishing and we can go sometimes. Unfortunately I haven't caught any bass this winter. Haven't had many opportunities to do so. Nothing seemed to work when I did get to. Only thing I've caught this winter is a bullhead catfish on a crappie jig that had a little piece of Ol' Monster used in place of the normal jig tube body.

I only use 3/8oz and 1/2oz sizes. I alternate them about 50/50 of the time. I may get me some 1/4oz ones eventually, but for now 3/8oz and 1/2oz are doing a great job for me. ?

First baits I've been able to buy in a while. Had a little extra cash and bought my first pack of Strike King Rage Craws in green pumpkin. Hoping to get to use them sometime soon. Sucks not being able to fish very often anymore. Hope that changes soon too.

All of my weightless plastics are thrown with a 6'6" MF spinning rod on straight 30lb Sufix 832 braid diameter of 8lb mono. Haven't tried a swivel yet. May have to see if it's effective enough to worry about in the future.

Yesterday morning it snowed here in Shreveport and actually stuck. That doesn't happen very often. It was nice although I'm ready for the cold weather to be gone so I can go fishing more often. Nobody around here wants to fish in this cold and I don't have a driver's license at the moment.

I buy Yum brand polarized sunglasses at Wal Mart for $5. Good enough quality for me and at that price it's not a big deal if I lose or break them.

Wow! That's a big ole flathead you got there. What are some other baits to use for catching something like that?
