  1. Another good with with the jerkbait and jig ! To many to take pics of but got a nice photo of the biggen of the day. She swallowed the jig whole , thunk!
  2. Looks like dead mill foil or coontail. We have the same stuff
  3. They must work wonders here then. I actually just got a perch colored Vison 110 I’ll have to start throwing more
  4. So it’s 38 degrees here in New York with a low for 33 tonight decided to get some jerkbait fishing in today. Caught about 12 in a few hours , they were all caught with a loooong pause between 5-10 seconds. Was almost back to the canoe out in spot and decided one more cast and twitch twitch BOOM just heavy so I knew this was today so best. Took my time and got her in the boat. A nice 5 pounder .. now i took a look inside and noticed a tail sticking out ! It didn’t look like a bluegill and I didn’t wanna pull the fish out of its stomach, she was obviously eating up for winter. So I tossed her back and decided eh one more ! Usually I would end on that but I just had a gut feeling. Idk if anyone remembers but a few months ago I asked if perch could be a main forage .. I have never seen bluegill here but I thought I saw a perch.. well I casted back to the exact same spot I caught the 5 pounder and what do you know! A giant perch ! Looks like I found out what they are eating
  5. Usually a M to MH power rod and I prefer a faster gear ratio to pick up slack and bc smallies like to run fast I would go 6:3:1 or higher
  6. I figured I had the vision 110 so the 120 would be better
  7. Thanks ! For some reason sometimes I think baits are to big. It’s about half inch bigger than the vision 110 so I wasn’t sure And hey! I just realized you live like 30 minutes from me
  8. Sunline super fc sniper is probbsly your best bet. I use 10-16 pound and it handles amazing
  9. It works well but I prefer the pop max. You can walk it and pop/chug it so it’s kind of like a 2 in 1 but both catch fish
  10. Looking to grab a couple duo realis jaerkbaits mainly for fishing spring prespawn to spawn for smallies on Lake Erie. Wondering what everyone has better luck with with 120 size or the 110.. I have the megabass Vision 110 so figured the 120 would be nice for the larger size but thinking maybe it’s to big for the smallmouth .. but then again maybe big bait is big fish? Anyone have luck with these.
  11. When I went fish Friday it was blowing 15-20 mph and somewhat stained water 2-4 ft visibility ..in that case most would throw a chatterbaits or spinnerbaits or something with noise. I threw a swimjig and hammered them! Shows that sometimes different works
  12. The problem is with a roadrunner vs a normal hollow body is the fact that your twitching the bait with pauses or slowly twitching with no pause which allows the fish to eat the frog better. The roadrunner your reeling it back in and the fish doesn’t have a chance to grab it like a normal frog so the hooksets aren’t as good.
  13. I would say some kind of plastic with a tungsten weight rigged weed less. Or a weightless rigged senko is your best bet for any bites , also second the spinnerbaits or a jig. Cast parallel and change the retrieve. Or if you know depth try casting to the deep end and slowly brining it back in.
  14. Just a couple from today’s outing, only had two hours to fish with 15-20 mph winds ina. Canoe.. funny thing is the swimjig destroyed it today. Caught about 15 with 10 being on the swimjig and the others the jackhammer !
  15. I see our field and stream shop has favorite rods in stock now all the googan rods
  16. So it literally excludes everything that’s everyone needs lol
  17. Glad I’m not the only one with a list! I hope they don’t exclude some JDM stuff as half of what I need is megabass or duo realis etc
  18. I have started my own Black Friday sale list of everything I’ll need ! Soft plastics , jigs, jerkbaits and a few random stuff I been eyeing up. Anyone else have a list started ? I mean who doesn’t like getting new tackle ?
  19. You shouldn’t miss any but the moderate fast is nice for treble hook baits as well. If your fishing around cover I would go with Mh. Or the potential for big bass I use Mh
  20. I would go MH/F if I was you. MH is a better all around rod and can be used for pretty much anything. My spinnerbaits rod is MH/F
  21. My biggest days always come on hardbaits, the biggest numbers days have come on jerkbaits or spinnerbaits for me that is 50+ fish.. I guess third would be jigs .. idk what you would consider that.
  22. My wife would kill me.. she knows how much that would be in $$ lol
  23. Ksam1234 replied to Shane Y's topic in Fishing Tackle
Yes! Get them ASAP before they are gone.
  24. I have 3 tackle boxes containing 5 3700 size containers .. and I thought that was hard to manage. Can’t imagine all that.
