Anyone else hate super slick
I believe it’s the v2 but I could be mistaken. I normally spool myself but I bought a new reel and they spooled it for me while I finished looking around.

Anyone else hate super slick
Okay glad to know it wasn’t just me. Back to power pro then

Anyone else hate super slick
I’ve always used pp from 15-50 or maybe 65 lbs and never had a issue with any of the weights. 15 on spinners, 20-30 on lighter casters and 50-65 on heavy casters. I got a spinning set up last year and the guys at the store highly recommended super slick over regular pp and I cannot for the life of me get a knot to stick. Once I think I’ve got it, by the 5-15 cast there goes my lure, or I’ll hook a good 4-5lber and then not will slip on next cast, next small or large fish doesn’t matter!

What’s your favorite brand rod? Megabass, shimano, st croix, G.loomis...
When it comes to reels I’m a shimano guy all the way, and for rods I do favour gloomis but not against using other. Have 1 kistler, 1 expride, 1 dobyns, had 3 st. Croixs and 8 gloomis rods. Looking at grabbing a megabass this season and some more exprides

Megabass launcher help
Thank you. I am new to the deep cranking game so I don’t actually know what baits I will be throwing yet!! what is your favourite deep cranking rod then? I just haven’t owned a megabass and hear wonderful things about there fit and finish, as well as heard good things about the launcher from someone I purchased some glx’s and nrx’s from.

Megabass launcher help
Thank you very much. Any chance you had or have both? Do you find one a bit ore universal. I think the f6 is probably better way to go for the real deep cranks but don’t want to feel like it’s over powered or dead in the hands.

Megabass launcher help
Thank you, I feel like the f5 is probably the better all around rod but since I have an imx pro 845c cbr for my squarebill and shallow, but could technically cover the into the mid depth I feel like maybe the f6 would be better to handle the deep to the magnum deep cranks. i see most of the newer style cranks seems to be a little heavier when looking at that 16-25’ range, and I don’t want the f5 to be under powered. I’m fishing lakes every summer where I seem to be only hooking then at 20-55’ and have been throwing tubes, Carolina rigs, jigs, neds, drop shots, shakey heads, worms, but want to try more reaction style on them.

Megabass launcher help
Looking at getting my first deep cranking stick for this up coming season! I noticed that the original launcher was an f5 and the new one is an f6? Is one much better then the other as I can still get either one? Does the f6 come apart at the handle like the f5? Which of the two would you recommend to try?

2020 Rod line up
I don’t mind the rod, it balances well, feels pretty good and loads of power. I use it for Carolina rigs, weighted t-rigs, whopper ploppers. I just feel like for the money there’s better rods and want to try others.

Unfortunately I’m located in Canada so it’s probably not worth it for you

1000 size stradic fl
Awesome thank you! I’m definitely curious on how it should balance out. I have 2 ci4’s and 1 ci4+ and the stradic fk and love all the reels. The ci4+ is amazingly light and is so much fun to fish on the nrx 852 and balances beautifully on the expride but the fk and fl just match so much better,

Shimano Expride VS St Croix Legend Bass
It is tough to purchase something before handling it but with the expride I’m sure you will love it. The warranty from st. Croix is awesome but in 8 years for fishing and 3-4 years of fishing hard I haven’t had to use warranty once so it’s not something that overly worry’s me. ive been meaning to try the tatula elites as I hear good things but right now I’m loving my glx’s and nrx’s for majority and the middle of the road I’m starting to replace everything with exprides. I’m hoping to offload a few roads and pick up 2-3 exprides this season. If not I will be adding the 7’2” medium heavy for sure. Hoping to get the 7’6 heavy and the 6’10” medium

1000 size stradic fl
Thinking about trying a 1000 size reel and wondering what’s your thoughts. Reel would be the stradic FL. I have a 2500 fk and it’s just a touch heavy for the rod and love the feel of the stradic. Was going go with another ci4+ but want to try the new fl and it matches the expride so beautifully!! Rod is mainly my ned rig rod running 8lbs max normally 6 or 15lbs braid to a leader.

Shimano Expride VS St Croix Legend Bass
Ive fished the lbt and own an expride. Ive fished 3 different models and owned 2 models from st. Croix (Avid x and mojo bass) and I find the expride much better balanced, lighter, and more sensitive then the avid x and lbt, but could be due to balance! The hook keeper does bother me but not enough to shy away from them. I’ll be looking to add another one for sure this season maybe 2! I prefer them to my imx pro’s as well! I love the reel seat

Must have rods
I would have to say 852s nrx spinning 7’1” medium 7’ expride light + spinning 894c glx 7’5” heavy fast casting 884c imx pro heavy fast frog rod 853c nrx casting 7’1” medium heavy extra fast 845c cbr 7’ medium heavy moderate/fast cranking

Deep Jig Rod
At your original budget I’d probably be looking at the sc mojo. I have only had experience with 13 for 1 reel and 1 rod. I have an envy black 7’6” heavy extra fast and while it’s been a pretty solid rod, there quality control makes me nervous when the guides are so far from straight it blows my mind. The mojo is a solid stick for the money. Another rod I’ve enjoyed fishing is the tatula lt and heard the tatula is even better. if your stepping up in price then the helium and expride are amazing! You’d be less going with a helium but I can’t speak highly enough for the expride. I fish a bunch of imx pro’s, glx’s and nrx’s and the expride is much better balanced and sensitive then the imx pro for less money and closely approaching the glx’s! Plus there fit and finish is superb. One of the most comfortable rods to fish

Concept z reel
Lol there she is. It’s made for a gorgeous light squarebill set up, bomb those light baits. But I just think for the money there’s much much better reels out there. I’d love to get another chronarch mgl for that one and a bantam for a deep cranking set up
-
G.Loomis E6x worth a shot?
I have a 6’6” 2 piece walleye e6x and I love the rod! It’s light, sensitive, great rip! Sure it doesn’t compare to the imx pro’s, or glx’s but I do enjoy the rod. My dad has a newer e6x 845c cbr and I have the imx pro 845c cbr and both rods are good! I sold my avid x and kept the e6x
-
Concept z reel
I have a concept c and while the reel hasn’t let me down, it is definitely my least favourite reel. For the money they have on it, it’s the pickiest reel I own. Any slight change in wind, spoil tension, brakes and the thing blows up! It does cast far but so do my chronarch and k with a lot less headache. On top of that after 1 season of use the finish is bubbling like a rusty car! Come on! 300 dollar reel in Canada and 1 season and it’s starting to look like ****. It will be my last 13 fishing reel that’s for sure. I also have a 7’6” envy black rod and the guides are so crooked it shows what they let slip past there quality control line. Also a 300 dollar rod in Canada!

Who owns the Shimano Chonarch 7:1:1?
I have 3 chronarch mgl’s and a bantam mgl. Love all 4 of these reels. The bantam is an amazing reel but the chronarch continues to impress me every time I use it. Have 1 on a glx 852c throwing lighter tubes, shakey heads, senko’s, Neko rigs and small poppers and it bombs them a mile! I have another on a glx 894c shipping’s jigs, pitching jigs and whopper plopper sometimes be into heavy cover with 50lbs line and have horsed out some real beauties in some thick cover. And had one on an 884 Twfr tossing 1/2oz -5/8oz frogs and 110 whopper ploppers just hammering bass in the thickest mats I fish and not once has these reels skipped a beat!!! The bantam now sits on the frog rod just because “it’s more designed for that purpose” and the chronarch moved too the nrx 853c

Shimano Chronach MGL | Best Bass Line Option
I run 30-50lbs power pro on all my chronarch mgl’s and then tie leaders when I feel is needed!
-
Your favorite baitcaster between $200-300
My two favourites are chronarch mgl and bantam mgl! The bantam might be just above or top of the range. The chronarch is probably my all around favourite reel! Have 3-4 of them and got them on anything from finesse to frog, t-rigs/jigs!!
