Nrx 853c
I just stumbled across a smoking deal on a brand new nrx 853c, so of course I snagged it. I wasn’t in the market for this particular model so my first though was to sell it/trade it for a model I’m looking more for 893c, 852s. Right now I have the new glx 822s drs, 852c and 894c. I wasn’t sure what the 853c would be best for or if it is better to try and trade for the 893 or 852s

General Daiwa Rod Reviews/Experiences...???
Oh I totally agree. I was fairly pleased with the rod for the money, felt nice looked great, and for under 100 dollars Canadian it seems like a good stick. Everyone let’s a dud go from time to time and I’m assuming that was this one. That’s just my experience so far. We will see this season as it’s finally back and ready to be fished

General Daiwa Rod Reviews/Experiences...???
I can’t comment first hand on the steez rods vs nrx rods. I hear wonderful things about a few of the steez rods and they seem to be extremely popular in the finesse spinning department. Otherwise it looks like nrx gets the nod. Personally I would just stick with nrx as my experience with daiwa rods have only been so so. I bought a zillion 7’2” medium-heavy regular (which I was told regular is suppose to be a moderate to moderate fast) and it was a fast 100%. For the price the rod lacked sensitivity but d**n what a nice looking rod. Second rod was a tatula lt 7’ spinning rod. Paired it with a shimano stradic fk and it looked awesome, balanced beautiful, first fish on the rod snapped it in half. That was 2 week of season for me and I didn’t get it back from warrenty until basically end of season! Was pretty disappointed. Hopefully this one is better otherwise I won’t be purchasing another daiwa rod

Daiwa Tatula CT vs. Fuego CT (casting)
I can’t compare the tatula ct but have 3 tatula Sv that we fish on the regular, and a buddy has the fuego ct. I think for the money that fuego has to be the best there is. If the only real difference is the t-wing I would go fuego all day over the tatula ct. the t wing is nice, but not a real selling feature for me.

Siebert Outdoors
I was equally confused when people were telling me to go siebert and I looked all over and then asked for mikes recommendation and he told me to try sniper jigs for smaller finesse stuff, and then extreme arky mata and wow I like them! I’d be lost on re ordering jigs unless is till had my receipt! They have so many. But I’ve been extremely pleased with these two styles so I’ll stick with them

Siebert Outdoors
Being in Canada I couldn’t find siebert outdoors jigs anywhere and didn’t realize mike would ship right to my door. So after half a season of fishing other jigs with little to no luck I contacted mike. I placed and order for 20-25 jigs I believe, and within a week I had then! Best looking jigs yet! Durable, great colours, hooks are sharp, and to top it off within the first 4 days of fishing them I stuck 2 5lbers, and 6 3.5-4lbers!! Just an awesome jig!

Shimano Expride a 7’ light+ thoughts
Worth stepping up to ballistic for mag seal though?

Which reel for new rod?
Definately leaning that way but want to get both in hand tomorrow and decide

Shimano Curado K vs lews bb1 pro vs Daiwa tatula
I believe I have a finicky tatula or something’s not quite right with it. I find my tatula Sv more finicky then the curado. I have 1 at most 2 brakes on the curado and doesn’t matter if I switch between 3/8-3/4 t-rigs, jigs, 1/2oz-5/8oz frogs they just sore and never back lash. But my tatula if I remember correctly has to be set at 8-9 if I go below it goes out of control! My dads two are definately more forgiving then mine. That’s interesting to know! I’ve fished the fuego ct once and was extremely impressed with the reel for the money! Actually made me regret my tatula. The tatula feels nicer but for the extra 100-150 in Canada the fuego is a steal of a deal! I only have the tatula Sv and have fished 3 different ones on multiple occasions. We can get those tatulas bombing baits as well, it just seems a bit more effortless and smoother with the curado

Shimano Curado K vs lews bb1 pro vs Daiwa tatula
I have both the curado k and the tatula Sv. Out of the 2 I prefer the feel and casting of the curado k! Nothing against the daiwa as my dad has been really pleased with the tatula’s but the curado just feels more refined, smoother, and casts a country mile. It’s on my flipping stick

Which reel for new rod?
I have been considering trying daiwa as everywhere I see they seem to be talked about in high regards. But between the ballistic lt and the tatula lt is it Not worth stepping up for mag seal? Ive always run shimano casting and spinning. I have one tatula Sv and wouldn’t mind trying there spinning but just don’t know anything about them. If I go shimano it will be ci4+ as I love the one I currently have

How would braid vs FC differ on 2 MF casting rods?
I fish a 7’1” medium extra fast glx 852c spooled up with 30lbs braid and a 12lbs leader, also used 8lbs leader with no problems. I fish 3/16-1/4oz jigs plus trailer, 1/8oz t-rigs, smaller paddle tails (it’s an extrafast but fairly soft so it’s not terrible), I’ve tried spybaits, small jerks, but better for single hook applications. It’s a good wacky rig rod though. Or exposed hook (nose hooked flukes), and shaky heads. I wouldnt fish any cover with it, really really light cover maybe but mainly closer to lay downs and open water. the 12lbs floro rod, or the softer/slower rod I would try poppers, small topwater, lipless, small cranks, jerks and such

Which reel for new rod?
I picked up a Shimano Expride 7’ light+ this afternoon and now need to outfit it with a reel! Main purpose will be a perch rod for about a months time while waiting for bass season to kick start, then my ned rig rod during bass and small finesse trd tubes and other finesse applications. I throw a ci4+ on it and it balanced beautifully. debating between another ci4+, tatula lt or a ballistical lt. I have a ci4+ and super happy with it but have never tried any daiwa spinning reels

Shimano Expride a 7’ light+ thoughts
Awesome thank you! I couldn’t help myself I ran out and picked it up! I think I’m really going like it! It balances really nicely with the stradic ci4+ that I pulled off another rod just to try. Just have to narrow down exactly which reel, another ci4+ or maybe try a daiwa this time It definately feels more like a mod-fast.

Shimano Expride a 7’ light+ thoughts
Well I don’t do a ton of panfish/trout fishing but chase perch for about a month before bass season opens once the ice gets off the lakes so I hoping to use the rod for perch for that month, then use it for bass the rest of the season. But all I can think that would be awesome on the rod is ned rigs. What other baits do you like on it?

Shimano Expride a 7’ light+ thoughts
For those who fish it, what are your thoughts? Where does the rod shine? Is it more like a medium light or more like a light? I handled once in a local store and haven’t stopped thinking about why I need this rod lol! Fill me in please on your thoughts and what it excels at

Expride or Loomis IMX?
I fish 2 imx pro rods and they have to be one of my favorite rods in my line up! Both are light, balanced, plenty of power! Would highly recommend the imx pros. I finally got my hands on a couple different expride (2 casting, 2 spinning) and now all I want is to add one to the lineup. Boy was that a nice feeling rod!

M vs MH Power Cranking Stick
I’m throwing a medium heavy mod-fast cranking stick and love it! Loads of power, parabolic bend in the rod is great! I haven’t lost a fish yet since switching to this stick! I can throw down to 1/4 cranks no problem! Caught my largest cranking bass last season on the 1/4oz squarebill
-
Ned rig setup
I have only fished the ned rig really late in the season once last day of fishing and looking forward to trying it this season as it was the only thing I could get to bite! I was using a 7’ medium fast and it was too stiff. I have since picked up a 6’10 glx 822s dsr which I’m excited to try and have my eye on a 7’ light+ expride

Ultimate senko rod
I love throwing a senko, weightless t-rig mainly, then wacky, then weighted, even Neko rigged. I’ve throw them on 6’6” medium spinning, 7’ medium spinning, 7’1” medium casting, 7’ mh casting, 7’5” h casting, 7’4H (more of a mediumheavy) and sure the spinning is probsbly the better way to fish it, but 9 out of 10 times I throw it on a casting rod and have never felt like I might be missing out. Last year i was throwing a weightless t-rig senko on 7’ casting medium heavy in 35-50’ of water nailing larger smallies! Plan on adding an nrx or glx 893c (7’5 medium heavy) specifically for deeper water senko fishing this season! Can’t wait to try it out!!

Anyone using Shimano Expride A spinning
Nice rod you got yourself. I’ve been looking to get my hands on one for about a year now and stumbled across a 7’ medium and the 7’ light plus. I’d really like to add one to my lineup (spinning) and can’t seem to figure out what I need. I figured the light+ might be something to try just looking for everyone’s thoughts on either that particular rod or the expride in general

Anyone using Shimano Expride A spinning
Looking hard at the 7’ light+ just trying to figure out how it fits in my arsenal! Basically I just want it but not sure I need it. Never had a light rod but it’s ratings and feel feel more like a medium light

G Loomis Recommendations please
I fish glx line up and man are they sweet! I went this route because of a buddy who is sponsered said most of the boys he fishes with and along side prefer the glx vs nrx for the money, minus a handful of models. So I went glx and have been happy. But now this season is going try the nrx and it will be 893c i have an 894c and it’s fantastic for jigs! But the 893 I want for senko’s more open water plastics, deep water finesse jigs, heavy tubes.

Do 13 fishing rods run heavy? (Envy Black)
I have 1 7’6” heavy extra fast and it feels prettt much what it’s rated for! Excellent power, excellent sensitivity and find it a decent value for money! I’ve seen them on sale now getting rid of old stock and they are a killer rod at that price!

Spinning rod for smallmouth
I know everyone had there own budgets and you know what you can afford but I’m also in Canada and started with the e6x. Got mine on sale at a wicked price and I still today love that rod. 6’6” walleye rod. But I also saved and got 2 different imx pro’s and then save and got 3 glx’s (not at the same time or anything) but I feel it’s defiantly worth saving that extra week or two and holding off for the imx pro. At 240-280 for the e6x for 150 ish more I think it’s worth the step above the e6x. Just a thought. The other thing is to keep an eye out for a used loomis come across facebook marketplace or kijiji. Picked up some nice rods used st great prices. Waiting for an nrx to show and I’ll be all over that
