I'll wait till payday to grab a set up. Anxious to try it out.- Landed my PB last night.
Updated to "landed"....thanks!- Initial Thoughts: Review of Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Booyah Toad Runner vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
Makes sense. Like anything, I guess there is always a start up cost. Thanks for the tips!- Landed my PB last night.
I lost two fish prior to this one hopping off the hook when I got them on land and flopping into the water. I prayed to all that is holy for this one not to flop off either...lol. He was hooked well with two sets of trebles.- Initial Thoughts: Review of Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Booyah Toad Runner vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
So why wouldn't the Booyah toad runner just do the trick without having to build your own? Seems to be the same components without having to buy all the different supplies.- Landed my PB last night.
I added light to it., and upped the color a smidge. Here is the same picture with just the lighting added.- NewEnglandFishing
Shots of my catches- Landed my PB last night.
Well said. I knew I'd be scoffed at a bit here with people pulling some whoppers out, but I fish maybe once a week if I'm lucky, so I'm not competing with anyone. If there is money on the line, or in a tournament, different story, but fishing on my local pond with a fat cigar and a cold beer, I got nobody to impress but myself, and my buddies...lol- Initial Thoughts: Review of Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Booyah Toad Runner vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
Those frog tails are pretty pricey.- Landed my PB last night.
Yea, it was late, and I was in a pretty confined area as it was. *shrug* Good advice though, appreciate it! Oh well, it impressed the people I sent it to, and I was happy to snag it....lol- Landed my PB last night.
Well, I know from what I catch that this was the biggest bass I've ever caught....lol.- Landed my PB last night.
Sadly, could not find my scale...- IMG_20180719_202233533.jpg
- Best Time To Use Top Water Frogs
I barely have luck with my frog. I have the Lunkerhunt Croaker in green. It's a mid-size frog. I most fish off shore on a local pond. Can hear frogs, but very little lily pad. However, I have fished it in heavy lily pad from my canoe and have never gotten a bite. Any recommendations for maybe a different frog, or anything to add to this one to make it more attractive? I hear people putting rooster tails on them. I am in the Northeast if that matters.- River conditions for bass?
I started with a chatter bait, then switched to hula popper, then to a square bill. Also tried split back rappala. Also had another pole set up with minnows.- River conditions for bass?
Yea, I decided I would hit it up closer to noon. Just harder to get out at that time what with the wife and kids. I find it easier to not be around early mornings, or late afternoons. Have had a bit of luck towards sunset, but have yet to pull a bass.- River conditions for bass?
A buddy and I went out this past Sunday morning to do some fishing on the local river. Now, this is a fairly quick river, but not enough to really push us around in the canoe. We got totally skunked! I used every type of lure, even live bait (minnows), to no avail, not even a bite. We went pretty early around 8:30am, and fished until about 12pm. On our way back up river, I watched a guy in a small john boat pull up a 14" Pike, and he also mentioned that he grabbed 2 Bass on his way down the river. We also spied lots of jumping on our way up, and the river felt more "alive". So my question for the pros here is this; do rivers need to "warm up" in these cooler New England nights/mornings before Bass are feeding? I've always had good luck fishing in the morning in ponds/lakes, but this river continues to evade me. It's a pure Bass paradise with overhangs, TONS of fallen trees in the water, coves, lilypads, etc. Thoughts?- How many hunters and what kind do you hunt?
Brand new to hunting, and waiting to get out there! Just got my first 12 gauge, and looking to hunt Turkey and Geese to start. I live in RI, so there are few public hunting grounds which means heavy traffic, but hoping to come across a friend who might have some acres to hunt private. Looking maybe for squirrels too. I have a buddy who ties flies and would buy the tails from me.- These old lures worth anything? Cleaning out tackle box!
I'd take a bunch of them off your hands if you are just going to throw them out. I like fixing "older" things into something useable. I'd be willing to throw you a couple bucks for shipping/handling. Just don't throw them away.- 14.5' Pelican "rehab" Craigslist find
Sadly, this was the last time I took it out. I had an appendectomy on July 31st. Doctor said not to lift anything over 10lbs for 3 WEEKS! This Monday will be the 3rd week, but I am thinking she'll see the water on Sunday- Taxidermy
could you provide more info?- 14.5' Pelican "rehab" Craigslist find
- Taxidermy
Anyone into taxidermy here? Just starting to get into hunting, and thought it would be cool to save a couple different skulls (I know, confident, right?) Actually thinking of raising up some Demetrius beetles to handle the cleaning of the skulls/bones as they strip them clean, and are fairly easy to raise.- Squirrels Anyone?
