How many hunters and what kind do you hunt?

Featured Replies

Here is a thread where you can share your bag of whatever animal and can talk about hunting. Hope this thread lasts a long time.

I don't hunt the variety I use to, mainly deer and ducks for me anymore. Since we moved to our new place this last year I've been trying to thin out the crow and coyote populations too. Unfortunately I sold my .22-250 I used to use for coyotes several years ago and now I'm trying to use my 30.06 for them and it just doesn't work nearly as well. Not so much the gun, but the scope isn't nearly as powerful as I'd like. It isn't needed for deer I'd normally hunt with it, but a coyote is a lot smaller target.

I don't do much gun hunting deer though, mostly archery. It's been over a decade since I've shot a deer with a gun.

Those are some nice green heads.

I hunt wild turkey (spring), deer (firearm), ducks, and pheasants.  From May - October, I fish.

Mostly Whitetail for me as well. Late season which runs till Jan. 10 here in Iowa and then bow hunting the rut. Do some pheasant too but not as much as we used to. Between fishing, deer hunting, and golf Im pretty much full on the schedule with school too!

Well I can't seem to get my deer to come out during the day. It's to late now but I had a tall 4 pt. and a small 4 pt. and a small 6 and about 8 button bucks running around a 2 in the morning.

used to hunt everything that moved. got in bad wreck few years back, cant do it any more. plus old age has caught me I think . now I just roll over and say come here dear. but I do enjoy looking at what you guys get,  seen some nice game! kudos! keep posting.

ive been hunting for almost 10 years and haven't harvested any big game animals. I've been trying to stalking prey for years and haven't gotten anything. Been self taught and reading mostly to figure all of this out.

I hunt mainly ducks, geese, doves, turkey, and bow hunt for deer a little. But fishing school and sports keep me pretty busy during hunting season

Thats awesome guys! maybe people will keep posting pics of their bags.

Deer and turkeys, actually starting to share my deer knowledge and people are beginning to seek me out which is odd. Ive got a property visit tomorrow where the owner wants me to figure out the usage, stand locations, bedding locations and where they should put in habitat work.

Ive got another in two weeks different county.

Considering writing a book in the near future on being an outdoorsman. Ive done it my entire life, many different parts of it. Being an outdoorsman became popular in the last ten years but a lot of people dont know where to begin.

Squirrels and hogs mostly.I just can't get enough time for deer anymore, though I'd love to.

Suburbia has crept up on me.Been looking for some pockets of woods nearby I can get permission to hunt like those people on " Chasing tail".No success so far.

Where I live has changed so much in the last 40 years.Gone from rural to suburbia.

At least I can still fish N the lake at home.

I hunt whitetail, mule deer, elk, antelope, coyotes, ducks, geese, pheasants, coyotes, gophers, etc, etc. I'd love to be able to hunt moose, mountain goat, and big horn sheep but the tags are incredibly hard to draw up here. I used to hunt with a bow a lot but haven't in a long time. Still shoot my bow every once in a while but primarily a rifle hunter. Starting to get into hunting with my Super Blackhawk 44mag and Glock 20 10mm.

I mostly bowhunt for deer but also rifle hunt to put meat in the freezer. Also duck/goose hunt and turkey hunt spring and fall. Coyote hunt to help manage the deer herd. Pretty much hunt to get me to fishing season and fish to get me to hunting season.

Bow and rifle depending on the tags I can draw. Mule deer, couse whitetail, elk, oryx, and Barbary sheep. Used to guide elk hunters as well here in New Mexico, but ended up disliking it so I stopped.

Serious bow hunter for mature whitetail deer.  Addicted to it.
