  5. Sarge, Haven't been fishing cranks for very long myself. Probably wouldn't be a lot of help :-[. I really hate it when you take a new crankbait and it doesn't run true (straight line back to you). You can get them from cheap to High dollar. There are 2 that I have never had a problem with, Rapala and Bandit. You might give 'em a try ... As Ever, skillet
  6. Sarge, Just wanted to muddy the water a little more for you ;D! Early and late is usually the rule for topwater (low light) but I have done really well in the middle of the day with a Devil's Horse. BUT, I was back up in the willow trees on old river runs with lots of shadows and light on the water. Topwater Rules!!! Sometimes if you get an itch you just have to scratch it ... As Ever, skillet

Around here as the water heats up, the fish usually go deeper if they can and hold tighter to any cover they can find. Also, hate to say it :-[, skunks do show up every now and then. don't know if this applies to your waters or not. WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet

  11. Just caught a PB for spinning gear with Zoom Super Fluke. Just use spinning gear for flukes (3/0 or 4/0 EWG hooks) weightless. They do tend to put twist in your line. Some folks like vb said use swivels, haven't tried them that way. Great bait ... As Ever, skillet
  12. Have never fished for them myself :'(.Would sure like too. They are native to the Amazon R basin. but have been stocked in the Miami area. Don't think they get much farther North unless of unseasonably warm weather. They are actually in the Chiclid (sp) family. They haven't got as large here in US as in their native waters. From what I've heard here and seen on TV, would be great fishin' ... As Ever, skillet

  19. Haven't given the Hybrid a try but I use the Ultrasoft 12lb on my baitcaster and 6lb on spinning gear. They are 2 different lines. Just caught a really healthy 6lb bass on my spinning gear the other day. The line held up great! As far as the KVD line conditioner goes, IMHO it would help any line. Great product... 20. To paraphrase someone's avatar; To fish or not to fish? Do you really need to ask :-/??? As Ever, skillet BTW Nice fish !

  24. Went with TN basstracker to Gibson Co. Lake (TN) day before yesterday for the first time. Had a lot of fun, always do, fish or no fish (lots more fun with fish ;D). Caught and landed nice one, just at 6lb.(not huge by some of ya'lls standards ;D). Really pretty fish, big ol' belly and large gill plates and mouth!!. It's the largest fish I've caught on spinning rig. LOT OF FUN!! Knew how much I liked my rig (Symetre 2500, 6'MH Berkley Bionix, 6lb YZHS), like it even more now! Have never had to give the drag a work out 'till then. It was just as smooth as could be. Don't know if I had it set a little light or not, she sure pulled her share and then some. There definitely was no horseing or picking her green, just had to wear her out. Thanks to the folks to the members that steered me towards Shimano and YoZuri Ultrasoft... As Ever, skillet
  25. Nice looking Fish !! Sure wish we had some of 'em closer to me ;D... As Ever, skillet
