  1. I have three different brands. The vast majority of my rods are BPS Platinums with three Patriot thrown in. I own two St Croix's and one Loomis Smallmouth Series rod.
  2. I'm not a bit surprised, they'll be more to come.
  3. I must make an admission and an apology. After reading and posting, I got to wondering about the above rod so I checked it. It's actually a 4' 6" BPS Mega-Cast rod with a Tennessee handle. It's still a great, reliable rod. I have a Shimano Nasci 2500 reel. I'm sorry for the confusion.
  4. I'm with you on both! I can't imagine a life without fishing, even if only half day trips. I also enjoy reading, music and hoping in my truck just to find out what's at the other end of some road. I have to keep my mind somewhat busy. This will probably sound silly, but my mother in law got me a model car for Christmas. I've really been enjoying painting it. I'm just now starting to actually building it.
  5. I used to go as much as possible, sometimes three or fours days in a row, daylight to dark no matter the conditions. Now that I'm retired, I have to be honest and say that I don't go if the temps are in the 30's for lows and in the humid 90's. I'll go out in the mornings and fish until it get too hot, but that's it for me. Rain doesn't bother me at all, thunderstorms however....... ain't gonna happen.
  6. She's looking really good. Those notches appear to be perfect.
  7. My hair cut is pretty straight forward, no need to spend extravagant money on a haircut. I would rather pay her $20 and save the extra $20 or $30 for something I actually wanted. Plus, where I live, any barber crazy enough to even attempt to charge that kind of money for a man's haircut wouldn't be in business very long.
  8. I've got a St Croix Mojo Bass cranking rod. It's okay but no where near as good as my BPS Crankin' Stix.
  9. Gasoline is up 41%, heating oil is up 49% per this mornings news! I just don't see how this is sustainable.
  10. Where on earth do you live? A barber charging $40, much less $50 to cut a man's hair? That's assuming you are a man by the way. The same lady, at the same salon that my wife goes to cuts my hair for $15, I give her $20. Albeit I live in a small, town close to BFE.
  11. QE, Quantitative Easing, has pretty much been going on since 2008 hasn't it? Chairman Powell was reappointed, we'll see what happens but I'm afraid it ain't gonna be pretty. Talk about perfect timing, Consumer Price Index numbers dropped this morning. Inflation up over 7%.
  12. You are 100% correct, as always. When the printing stops, and it will, people will understand.
  13. Heck, everything is going up yet we keep getting told how strong the economy is.
  14. Good job MN Fisher, coming right along. When's the next video?
  15. I have good first aid kit in my boat. I used it several times at various boat ramps to help others, thankfully not for me. I should put one in my truck too. Thanks to china, I do keep hand sanitizer in my truck, also in my wife's car and we use them every time we get in.
  16. You did better than I did. I was watching drag racing and completely forgot about the game!
  17. I agree! I love going to baseball games, but watching on TV is awful. Same with basketball. Congratulations to the University of Georgia and all of their fans! Congratulations to the SEC.
  18. That's pretty much it. Mine has a Tennessee handle though. Hey VolFan, are you a Tennessee Vols fan too?
  19. That's the same coloring as mine, cork handle too. I pretty much just use mine when wading, especially where there's a lot of overhanging limbs.
  20. I've got an old (1986 model) BPS 5' or 6' Bionic Blade ultra light rod that I'll put up against any brand. It's been a great, reliable rod.
  21. I've always got an apple, granola bar, a few bottles of water and one soft drink when I go out. I try to only drink one soft drink a day. Some days are better than others. If I think it will be an 8+ hour day out, I'll bring a turkey sandwich.
  22. I've had two friends have their rigs broken into, one twice. Thankfully their homeowners took care of everything. When I was racing stock cars, someone stole a full Craftsman tool box out of my trailer. I wasn't so lucky with my former insurance company. For those who haven't, take pictures of everything! In addition, make an inventory sheet/ sheets. It's a pain in the tail, but it will be helpful if the worst happens. Not only theft, but fire, natural disasters, etc. Sorry for the edit, I was called away. I have pictures of every rod, every reel, all of my hard baits, soft baits, boat , electronics.... everything. When I lose a bait, and don't replace it, I delete it from my inventory. I always buy in quantities of two or four if possible, but I try to replace lost baits quickly. As I'm getting older and trying to downsize my stuff, I'm making way more deletions than additions. I hope that this might help someone.
  23. It's all about the optics!!! I've been trying to get down to maybe six set ups, from about 40, for a while now. I've made some high school angler's and some, I don't know the right word to use so I'll just say disadvantaged, folks just getting started extremely happy! I've been going through my Plano's and getting rid of lures and soft plastics I no longer use too.
  24. Vent away BR brother, we're all in this together. Prayers for your son, his family, you and your wife.
  25. If your talking about the Coleman Crawdad series, they sure are tough as nails! My first boat was a Coleman Crawdad with a 9.9 Johnson and a 30 lb thrust Minn Kota. Great little rig and I caught a ton of fish in it! I wish that I still had it.
