  1. In my early days of bass fishing, I'm sure I was fairly heavily influenced by some of the pro's. Not really any more.
  2. Jump on in, the waters nice and warm! I was in law enforcement for 30+ years. Although I was a Sergeant/ supervisor, I was ready to go! I never let my profession define me at all. I actually despised my last 10 years or so. We're just like @Captian Phil, pay someone to mow and hire a handyman to fix anything I don't want to fool with.
  3. I absolutely love retirement! Sure, the money is a little less but I refuse all forms of debt so we do just fine! I worked part time for five or six years. Woke up one morning and wondered "what in the heck are you doing!". Turned in my notice that morning. I had an ex-wife that didn't feel the same as me about debt and constantly bitched about my hobbies, stock car racing and later bass fishing. That's why she now carries the title of ex. My new wife feels the exact same way as me concerning all things financial and encourages me to fish as much as I want. Life is truly good!
  4. I've caught catfish on a spinnerbait and lipless, carp on shad raps, drum on jigs, numerous bluegill and crappie on crankbaits and jerkbaits. The two weirdest were a pretty good sized snapping turtle on a jig and four muskie in six casts using a shad rap. Number four got my shad rap so if any of you are on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, TN and catch a muskie with a shad rap in it's mouth, I want my bait back!
  5. I wouldn't bet the farm on that.
  6. I've caught way more bass from my boat's than from the bank. That said, I've caught a bunch of smallies and a few largemouth while wading.
  7. My favorite thing is when I walk into a room and wonder why! I'm 62, good times.
  8. For 95% of my river smallie fishing, I only use spinning gear.
  9. I'm a huge Seth fan. You will never meet a nicer, more humble guy! When the B.A.S.S. (the real major league of Bass fishing) Elite's fished Cherokee Lake in East TN, I was working part time at Bass Pro Shop. Seth was looking around the fishing Dept so I greeted him, calling him by name. He was genuinely surprised that I knew who he was. He needed some gloves so I took him to where he needed to be. My only regret was not getting an autograph or a picture.
  10. Merry Christmas to all!
  11. I was born in 1959, graduated in '78. I'm with you, I have a horrible time with all things tech related. As I have mentioned several times, I'm a proud dinosaur! One of my step daughter's got me some Bluetooth "beats" headphones for Christmas this year. This should be another headache.....I mean adventure.
  12. Go SEC and of course, GO VOLS!!! Bama wins it all.

Hang in there brother. I'll be praying for you and yours.
  14. Mine too!!!
  15. While I am one of those that are somewhat set in my ways, I do try to improve. I'll pick up the new, latest and greatest lure and give them a go. However, while I'm pretty good with my mechanics, I'm always trying to improve them.
  16. Merry Christmas to one and all. I love this place.
  17. Usually I'd stay home, but I have had success throwing a dark spinnerbait with the biggest copper Colorado blade I have. Also caught a few on a fire tiger lipless.
  18. I'm pretty methodical when fishing. I tend to pick stuff apart.
  19. I'm not to sure that I want to know ?
  20. I use an old Plano spinnerbait box
  21. Either back home to East Tennessee (Go Vols!) or to North Arkansas.
  22. Well done @Mobasser, well done indeed.
  23. I don't think that you could go wrong with either one. They're both great boats. My future son in law works for Sea Ark.
