Need help selecting first NRX+ Rod (843c or 853c?)
The 843 is legendary as the only rod to have if you can only have one, the MBR taper is lights out effective and there really isn't any presentation that isn't in it's wheelhouse.

Actual good finds at pawnshops/thrift stores?
I have gotten some fantastic deals on new reels from pawn shops utilizing auctions to move inventory, in fact they rank as some of my best scores ever on that platform. Maybe the pawn stigma keeps bidders away?

It took me a few years
I use an old Plano Over/Under. It has a 3700's worth of 'tray' on top witch hold crank baits and under that is a built in spinner bait rack, three stacked trays each the size of a 3500 which hold my jigs and an open well for soft plastics and other bulky items. The whole package is the same size as four 3700's stacked yet holds everything I need to rig for any application yet small enough to force me into being selective in loading. Less bulk in the kayak and more importantly less to mull over when tying on something new. Honestly, the built in rack is the real selling point as I love throwing spinners and chatters and it's large enough to holds everything I need.

Kayak people. How many rods do you bring?
Seven is what I run now, six in tubes on the pak and one pistol grip up front. Lure changes are the main reason as my fingers are no longer suited to fast, fine, light duty action after many decades of earning a living working steel. Add in just a touch of cool weather and it's game over for sure. Also switched to snaps for the first time so hopefully that helps speed things up a bit.

White/chartreuse chatterbaits.
I love chartreuse in stained and shallow water, my go-to color in chatter and spinner baits! My water is heavily pressured yet this color gets action when nothing else will and while not producing huge numbers it does catch the ones you proudly show pics of to your buddies.

One lure only.
A 3/8oz Siebert Fogy with the bubble blade option in 'Disco Shad' would suit me!

Small, High Action Trailer Recommendations
Zoom Split Tail Trailers, my go to on spinner and chatter baits. Those two little 'legs' put off a tremendous amount of 'kick' without interfering with the natural action of the lure itself and have been far and away my best producer. Size wise this slender fellow also follows the 'less is more' approach so should be perfect in a finesse presentation.

Bass Pro Spring Sale
I've been holding a BPS gift card since last Father's Day, haven't found a way to spend it and not feel cheated even with 'free' money. I do shop there once a year during the spring sale as they usually pick a few lures and price them as a loss leader and I'm more than willing to do my part to help!

Favorite Spinnerbait Brand / Series ?
They're the stock blades on Booyah's Covert series as well!

You ever just undress and dive for your lost lure?
I've gone swimming so many times that it does't really seem odd anymore. And lure price isn't a consideration either, I've swum for one particular Siebert Fogy at least a half dozen times though truth be told it is my favorite.

Virginia expanding F1 bass stocking program!! YES!!
'Too cold' is what they used to say about Possums in the north but those critters are thriving in the snow! In fact, fattened up and with beautiful coats they look nothing like there southern counterparts. Remember when it was 'too cold' for Snakeheads? Critters adapt to almost any condition outside of outright physical impossibility so I see no surprise in the success of the F1 stock and hope this continues throughout the region.

- Winter sale
Last day of the sale, don't miss out!!!- Who Made The Switch To Mostly Braid On Bait Cast Reels ?
All braid, all the time is where I'm at. Stained, shallow and chock full of obstructions is what I have access to and being on a kayak I need all my set ups to be as versatile as possible. Braid allows me to focus on what matters in these conditions by eliminating some of the variables and my rod choices make up for any other shortcomings that may remain.- Kayak Casting Rod for Chatter/Buzz/Spin
An MBR is about as close to a Swiss army knife as you'll find on the water. The rumor is that the IMX Pro uses the previous generation GLX blanks so I think that about says it all plus the reel seat is of the old design and preferable to the one used on the latest get GLX.- Fogy vs. Chatterbait Action
It's the same blade with the addition of two small holes which gives it a different 'thump' than the regular blade without holes as well as producing a bit of more of a trail. I've got Fogy's in both styles but have much better luck with the bubble version, my water is shallow, stained and pressured so I take every advantage I can get.- Fogy vs. Chatterbait Action
I'm not really sure about underwater sound or difference in action though I imagine it does track differently though the bubble trail is a yes. All I can say for sure is that I get bit way more using the bubble blade than without with weight/color being the same.- Fogy vs. Chatterbait Action
And let's not forget you can order the Fogy with the 'Bubble Blade' option as well.- Wave Tiki Toad
Sounds like a good option used as a 'Buzz Toad' as the limited action might help it track true and the profile allow it to stay on top with a slower retrieve. As a trailer on a spinner or chatter bait would be another good application.- The latest sale thread
While researching spoons I found lots of great deals on Luck E Strike, Renosky and Nemire products. Hard to believe these deals but the sales and closeout prices on everything from plastics to hard baits are absolutely fantastic! https://truenorthoutfitters.com- Baitcast: Lews Tournament Pro or Shimano chronarch
I've got both a Ci4 as well as an MGL and the Lew's in Tournament Pro and Pro Z. Honestly, I think they all perform flawlessly and have no issues with either brand. That being said I would buy the Lew's without a second thought, especially as you can find the Tournament Pro for $140 which makes it a no brainer.- What do you always have tied on...
For me it's a 3/8th's Siebert Fogy chatter bait with the bubble blade option. It lives on an old Diawa Powermesh pistol grip rod and gets tossed a lot on every outing.- What's Your Take On Spiral Or Acid Wrap Rods?
I placed the winning bid on one an hour ago, a glass/graphite inshore 'Redfish' rod. I'm only ten minutes from the Chesapeake Bay so it'll see Red Drum and Striper action there but I think it'll be a great crank bait rod on the lakes as well.- Handheld digital scale for catch and release?
I went with the KastKing Madbite for one reason, it's waterproof. That it also floats is just icing on the cake. - Winter sale
