  1. XCalibur Xr5075 and XrK75 Lucky Craft LV500, LVDR7, LVR Mini, LV200, LV300N SPRO Arukushad 60, 75 and 85 Cordel Spots 1/4 and 1/2 oz.
  2. The "Chigger" series of craws are good baits. I like the 4" on a Texas rig and the 3" as a jig trailer or on Spot Remover style heads. Brad
  3. Did you get the full size or the smaller one? I do quite well on the full sized one. i like to rig them weightless or on one of the weighted hooks like the Mustad or LAke Fork swimbait hooks. Brad
  4. Thanks for the info guys. Matt, that's a good report and video makes it better. Yeah, I'd love to get a sharelunker. My buddy had a nice one on last year on a trap that he lost at the boat. This year I'll be there...I'm better with a net than his last partner! ;D Brad
  5. I'm heading down to Lake Fork this weekend for 5 days of fishing starting March 3. How's the fishing down there? I have never fished it, but the guy I am going with went this same time last year and they did pretty good. I've heard the lipless crankbait bit is pretty good right now. Brad
  6. These are great baits on a Carolina rig. The flat body style gives them a good glide. I rig them on EWG hooks. They also work well with a worm weight and picthed/flipped. Not a bad bait to try when you want to throw something different. Brad
  7. I hate to make light of your reasoning here, but surely you know that Denny and KVD have MAJOR sponsorships with SK. Not sure if they are a real objective source for a product endorsement. According to Denny, he is basically a salaried employee of Strike King. He just gets to fish instead of sitting in the office. Brad
  8. Like I said, they can be used in many ways. They just have all the legs and appendages laying like they do so that they do not get caught on the cover as they slide through. Try em and see what they do for you. Brad
  9. Yep, #5 Shad Rap fished along a rip rap bank from shore. Water was 85+ degrees in mid August. I had to crank that spinning reel as fast as humanly possible and ram the bait into rocks to get bit, but the bass crushed the bait and I caught a ton of them. Also, you will find that some cranks do not brun well. They will roll on their sides or roll over. Some cranks are made to burn. The Speed Trap is one of them. Brad
  10. You'll like those BMF hooks, you will not bend them. They are super tough. Andre does have some interesting names for his baits and colors, but they are still good products. Besides, the fish don't know a thing about any of that stuff. Brad
  11. They have that profile as they are designed mainly as a bait to be punched through grass on a heavy Texas rig. If you flip a lot of matted grass, these should be a good bait. Still, like all plastics, they can be used in many ways. Brad
  12. You can custom order many of the skirted GYCB baits. They have a small minimum, I think 6 bags. At least this is the way it was a few years ago. You pick from standard stock colors of the skirts and the bait bodies and they put them togther for you. You can do with this the hula grubs and ika baits. Black/Blue Fat Ika w/chartreuse/black skirt is a good one. Now, if you really want a custom color, you can have any color you want poured in any of their baits. 10,000 bait minimum. Brad
  13. SPRO Arukushads Lucky Craft LV0, LV300N, LV200, LV500 Xcalibur Xr50, Xr75, XrK75 Cordel Spots BUT, though I seldom ever fish one anymore, my PB came on a 1/2 oz. Trap dragged on the bottom in a March tourney at West Boggs a few years back. It was a chunky 7-9. Brad
  14. I use some of the NetNait finesse worms, T-Mac worms and Big Mac worms. Mainly in several of their laminate colors like Summer Craw and Bama Bug. These baits are as good as ZOOM's versions or others. Brad
  15. I've never had a lip break on a DT. I have one of the first DT4s ever made, in the original black/silver foil without any red markings. That bait is something special. For some reason, it outfishes every other DT I own added together. It's one of those special baits you only use a tournaments. It is so beat up, it is missing an eye and the clear coat is so scuffed up you can barely see the finish underneath. The lip is well worn, but still intact. It's been fished hard in shallow wood for years, has had several new sets of hooks, but it still flat catches fish like crazy. If someone took it, they'd be a dead man in short order. > If I only had a few more like it, as I know, one day it will finally just fall apart. I'll probably open the crankbait box and find it in pieces in its compartment. Yes, it has its own little compartment, away from all the other less catching baits. Brad
  16. Some guys go through great lengths trying to match the hatch, others could care less - they all catch fish though. My retention pond has never had a baitfish in it other than bluegill. The bass there have never seen a shad, yet most of the time, but not every time. So, I still try the bluegill ones though. There are a lot of great baits that imitate bluegills. If you're water is really clear and you don't mind trying a Lucky Craft, their Ghost Sunfish color or their regular Sunfish colors are good. Brad
  17. SPRO has some cool new stuff coming out later this spring/summer. A new, smaller BBZ swimbait, a larger Bronzeye Frog and several new Arukushad colors. So, if you like these baits, keep an eye out for them. Brad
  18. These baits move water and the thing I really like about them is that they seldom flip over on the retrieve like some other baits. I still use Horny Toads and Cane Toads though, depending on the mood of the fish. I have yet to find a toad that falls through the water like a Horny Toad when I kill it next to cover. The Cane Toad is a little smaller than the others and seems to get bites on days when the fish ignore the other baits. Brad
  19. The Lake Fork Live Magic Shad is a great bait. I have caught a ton of fish on them. The hooks I use are the Mustad ones with the plastic keeper barb that pushes into the nose of the baits. These come in weighted and unweighted versions. On the weighted versions, the weight can be positioned on the hook to allow for a different fall. Brad
  20. For me, wood = Arkie style head Rocks = football head I use the football head in weights of 1/4 oz. up to 1 oz. Brad
  21. Aplster - There's plenty of more room on that scale. Get to work! Brad
  22. I use spinnerbaits from 1/8 oz. up to 1 oz. depending on the need and they are ALL needed at some time during the year. Brad
  23. I like the Gambler Florida Rig weights. Just don't lose the threader! The screw in weights work, but they will eventually tear up the nose of the bait, but no faster than the fish you catch on that bait, so that is no big deal IMO. Brad
  24. Case Plastics Buckeye Lures Brad
  25. I use 5 color patterns for crankbaits: Shad Pattern Chrome Pattern Ghost Pattern Chartreuse Pattern Craw Pattern These five have worked well for me in all places I have fished. Brad
