  1. Chronarch mgl does have brass gears indeed.
  2. For square bills specifically, specifically! I like a glass or glass composite in the 6’10 Powell endurance medium fast. I don’t personally believe you need a medium heavy for square bills specially if your using glass or a composite the rods are thicker and stronger than graphite, from personal experience the Powell endurance has plenty of back bone to rip square bills out of grass. My older square bill rod was a Powell Diesel glass in medium fast specifically for square bills and it was a pleasure to fish with did a fantastic job. I have no idea of the glass from back in the day but the new glass or composites on the market now a days are plenty sensitive and do a great job for square bills.
  3. The Powell endurance rods are freaking sweet I just bought a cranking glass composite and they are extremely sensitive and have a perfect ? parabolic bend but not noodley feeling at all, I definitely recommend the new endurance series. Try em I bet you’ll like em!
  4. It looks like a good bait but I can understand why it isn’t talked about ppl are afraid to try things that are just different and this is a unique style of bait, we as bass fisherman get stuck to using things that we are used to seeing and if the lip isn’t in the front of the bait we get wary specially because of so many baits now a days designed specifically to sell lures not to catch fish live target being one of those companies in my opinion but this back lip diver seems like something that deserves some attention definitely worth trying.
  5. Yes it will work just fine for frogs.
  6. I would put it on a medium heavy ugly stick striper rod.
  7. If you fish a lot of weightless plastics trick worms or drop shot then yes you should think about investing in a medium fast action spinning rod. I use both mh and m rods 50/50% of the time.
  8. I like a little hybrid action with theses Sandle boots
  9. I agree I’m not into the nose hooking deal doesn’t work for me maybe on a spinning rod but I like to hammer down with a weedles ewg.
  10. Diawa should be paying this site from all the free promotion I see for the diawa fuego.
  11. Not bad for an old timer
  12. Trout magnet with a meal worm. Light tackle.
  13. Some ppl don’t see much of a difference when cranking with a 7 gear ratio reel as opposed to a 6 gear, to me the difference is significant. I think you just realized this and it is easier and smoother to crank because it’s a lower gear ratio I very much doubt their anything wrong with your high speed reel what your feeling is the difference in speed and resistance your theory of why you feel a difference is correct in my opinion.
  14. First time I ever cought a bass was out of a farm pond that looked like their were no fish in it I was using a cotton cordell diving minnow that dove like 5 feet got it at Walmart for like a dollar. I kept casting till I was gonna give up and go home. I don’t know why I made one more cast but I did and I felt what I thought was a snag on a tumbleweed that was in the pond and as I tugged to get my lure back, it fought back like crazy! it was my first bass, and a four pounder at that. I’ve been a bass fisherman ever since.
  15. Weightless super fluke.
  16. War eagle I also like booyah
  17. Good rod I know there are some folks here that like em a lot.
  18. I had that rod and I don’t have a good opinion about it ,from my personal experience using it. I would recommend a 7 mojo bass medium heavy mod fast.

Not the best picture but you can definitely tell it’s a giant your camera man needs to work on their picture skills. Congrats!!! On your ten pound pb!!!
