Its got a good parabolic bend but it’s not a noodle, it’s hard to explain? I can tell you this though I like it way better than my e6x7 foot medium heavy fast cranking rod, now that rod is definitely a noodle. I previeously owned a Powell deisel glass and that was a really great rod but it lacked sensitivity it felt like glass because it was glass but great action this rod has that same action but with a ton of sensitivity.

Aaron martins is master finness he uses the smallest of hooks I personally can’t fish like him I believe what he says but it’s just harder to copy his techniques.

Send it back for an exchange could be factory defect it happens with even the most expensive reels. I just recently got a chronarc I had to send back for an exchange because it was defective.

I started with the strike king bitsy bugs from wall mart and a grub trailer or I would cut the end of a Chigger craw and use it as a trailer.

I really like duckett rods However I prefer glass or composites for cranking I’m not into graphite for cranking just prefrance, I agree that the duckett cranking rods are a bit noodley but some people prefer that when cranking, your going to excel with those rapala dt6s or any slow cranking crankbaits.

It is very tragic, but no freak accident by any means. I’m sure this type of thing happens more frequently than reported and the Indonesian ppl are probably very aware of the dangers, if I myself being from the states was to go live in one of these country’s I wouldn’t last a week! Probably get my butt kicked by some monkey or something?

Swapping out your hooks to short shank ewgs might help also, the slight inward bend of the hooks help not only to keep a fish pinned but it also helps to get threw cover without as many snags.

So the conclusion of the matter is (unless shimano changes their description) that it’s made of plastic or “Hagane” well that just sucks ... ci4 is better than “hagane” I don’t know? But I had the Nasci with the hagane stamp on it an that reel was a disappointment..I sold it on Craigslist for half what I paid for it that’s how much I didn’t like the reel. I have a couple of reels made of ci4 magnesium, so I trust that material, but I never liked that term “ hagane” it basically just means it’s strong. Like you said it’s just marketing.

Does it have an aluminum frame? Because I’m just reading hagane body in the description? The curado 200 k describes an aluminum frame with ci4 side plates?

I just got the new Powell endurance glass composite 610 medium moderate fast for square bills I’m really happy with it so sensitive for a composite i can feel every little tic tic and can tell when I’m hung up on grass but yet it’s got enough tip to rip them out of grass but yet still extremely forgiving to keep those trebles pinned I highly recommend it. You’ll love this series of cranking rods.
